  • Take jobs from the Koreans and give it to us! We have offshored too much already.

  • Great video we are so glad to have this new facility here in Georgia!!

  • Ford please stop making tons of cars in MEXICO and CANADA!!! I will Buy American! I will Buy Hyundai!!!! Thanks Hyundai for feeding thousands of American families and creating hundreds of thousands of Jobs!!!

  • I'm scared. I've been reading reviews on the Kia Sorento, and found that there is a transmission and steering problem. I just bought one. I shouldn't be feeling scared when buying a new car; i hope problems don't occur with my new Sorento :(

  • @MrBallcoozie there is a problem in the output spline on the passenger side of the transmission in the 2.4L model. the 3.5 does not have that problem. there is a newly posted recall where the transmission is removed and that spline is replaced and your dealer should provide you with a rental for the day in order to do the repair. other then that we have had no other problems with the sorento.

  • @NCteg97 okay. THANK YOU so much! i made an appointment with Kia already they said they'll get it fixed as soon as possible. Glad someone helped me here :)

  • @ 1:06 in the green is my cousin.

  • @tentman1234 Therefore, Kia is not in the US because they care about giving back to the community. Their community is Korea, and Korean are extreme nationalists. US is not a saint neither that allows one way unfair trading. Business is business, if NPV is greater than hurdle rate, let's built it. If we can add a spin to it and make it seems we care about our foreign customers? then assign some extra value to the NPV. But public good will alone can never make the cut.

  • Nice video and car. But when will korea and japan open there markets so we can export to there countries. They only allow a total of 3.5% total auto imports in there countries for the world to share. We are unlimited here. Someday when the u.s. dollar collapses history will point to the unfair trade imbalances.

  • @tentman1234 Not necessary a Kia fan myself. But if you look at the SUV and truck production operations of foreign company. You will find a pattern, BMW X5 is produced in the South Carolina, Kia Sorento is produced in the Georgia, Toyota's truck&SUV are produced in Texas. Why? Foreign-made "utilities" are subject to a 25 percent import tariff, a policy heartily endorsed by U.S. producers. So a foreign truck valued at $20,000 costs the importer $25,000 before he can even clear customs

  • This is a great video. It really says alot about where Kia's going & getting done!

  • I love Hyundai/Kia. Their quality has vastly improved since 2000.

  • They have so much space left, I think they are going to expand anytime

  • Great Job! 10!

  • She's Hot at 0:59

  • well if u think about it if foreign cars want to see here in america they are going to have to build plants here in the states and that is a good thing because gm and ford are not going to make any jobs any time soon

  • I have a job interview for that plant tomorrow.

  • @RLTF01 Just say this video and your post..... How did the interview going and have you been offered a job? Good luck in any event!

    RL Atlanta, GA USA

  • Creating jobs in America!

Hummm....Detroit doesn't look so swell anymore! Les

  • @halofan11100

Mate. They just assemble the vehicles there. The parts come from Korea mostly. Don`t be misled by this propaganda.

  • @Allante715

Actually, Most of the parts are made right here in the same area. I live less than 30 miles from the plant, and their are a lot of companies that have been opened to supply all of the parts for the manufacturing. You should check your "propaganda" sources before you look like an idiot and say something in which you have no knowledge...

  • @smoker68x

I don't think the American Automobile Labeling Act is propaganda. Released every year by NHTSA it tells you the percentage of domestic/canadian content in each vehicle sold here. Kia scores less then 10 percent domestic content! So before you sound like a complete moron yourself, educate yourself.

    Google: AALA car pdf

    SECOND RESULT

But I guess this is why KIA assembles there vehicles in Georgia. An ignorant, ill informed workforce to take advantage of. Sad!

  • @Allante715

Okay, so in that report it tells you NOTHING about the SORENTO, which is the only vehicle they make at the Kia plant in West Point, GA. This is their first plant, of hopefully more to come. Looks like you've pointed out your own moronic statements for me... When they release a report that includes the Sorento, and they finish opening all of the parts suppliers in this area, come back and we'll talk...

  • @smoker68x

You are pretty naive to think that Kia is going to assemble a car with any more then 50 percent domestic content. Now if you want to sell your soul to defend Kia, then go right ahead. Just don`t talk out of your ass unless you have hard proof that Kia makes a 100 percent American made car.

  • @Allante715

First off, name one car that's 100% American made. Secondly, Kia and the companies that are supplying parts for the new Sorento have brought at least 5,000 jobs directly (that I've heard about) to this area, and I for one am not going to complain about that. They are putting Americans to work in a time when we need it most.

  • @Allante715

Also, I noticed quite a few "American" car companies that landed at 50% and in some cases below that mark. Like I said, we'll have to see what the number say when they are released, and at the same time, they are providing a lot of jobs, and I really don't see why it matters anyways.

  • @smoker68x

Sure they may be providing jobs, but those jobs are a result of the millions of automobile related jobs lost in Michigan, Ohio, ect.. Before the advent of free trade, the south had a booming textile industry. Now they have to rely on foreign companies. But that is a discussion for a later time.

It matters because companies like this utilize false advertisement to give the illusion they are making "American Made" cars.

  • @Allante715 LOL, name one American car that has 100 percent American made parts. You can't because there arent any. Seriously there is not one.

  • @Drendle87

Apparently you failed to read any of my comments. To use the "Made in USA" label you have to achieve a minimum of 70 percent US made components in your product.

    LoL right back at you.

  • nice
