Hi denon. Looks like you need to adjust up the idle for your busa. My 05 busa idle rpm was around 900 rpm, easy to stall and the engine sounded awful. My mate pointed up that it should be around 1000 to 1250 rpm and I got it fixed. The sound from your exhaust can is great though.
in April, I took it in for engine work and they had bumped the idle up to where it should be-1150rpm. Since then, I was having all sorts of problems with the engine occasionally cutting out (it ran 100% otherwise). Last weekend, I figured it out: they never reset the Throttle Position Sensor to the new idle speed (its fuel injected), so the computer was freaking out. Idle currently sits at 900 and it runs perfect. Someday, I want to get into the diagnostics and reset it to 1150, like you said :)
I spent 5 years with the 750 Katana, with the Busa at the top of my wish list. I finally bought this one last October...probably the best thing I've ever done. All the amazing stories you hear about Hayabusas are true...I highly reccomend!
my cam chain tensioner went, did $2500 worth of damage...Suzuki covered 40% of that. Everything was replaced with stock parts, so its pretty much factory power. If youve ever ridden a hayabusa, thats plenty!
Hayabusa with only one exhaust is like a girl with one boob...sad.

@OfficerDale
the busa weighs about 20 pounds more...but it feels lighter because its so much lower.

Hey Den, do you smell asbestos from the cockpit after you first start her up from cold?
Tata996 2 years ago
no, just nasty exhaust smell. I usually let it idle for a few minutes before taking off. It's had a new engine put in since this vid was taken.

I thought I saw a puff of smoke when you revved it. IS the power much different now?
