  • the sheriffs own it but cdf flys it. they can go any where in san diego country.

  • that is sheriff. thats chopper 12. and not all cdf has buckets.

  • no hurt feelings but its 100% not cdf cdf copters are red and white and usually carry water buckets which this one doesnt have srry but its not cdf

  • this is my dad. its a sd helicopter but sd contracted cal fire with a full staff heliattack crew for fires and rescues

  • No harm meant, but this is SD County Sheriff, not CDF.

  • Nope..... that is not a SD Sheriff's helicopter

Not sure if it is CDF but it does look alot like one of the copters I saw on the Harris fire....... the cops don't fly big Bell's

Fighting fires is not the primary mission of the sheriff's dept.

    That is a Firefighting copter

  • They do. The SD Sheriff operates 2 or 3 Bell 205 Super Hueys with 375 gallon tanks.

  • I stand corrected

    it is an SDSO helicopter

I'm not sure why the cops are getting in on the firefighting game but we could always use the help

  • Perhaps the fire wasn't in within SD City limits, and hence the Sheriff reesponded, being a county organization. If it were within San Diego city limits, Copter 1 probably would have responded. That's my guess.

  • @lmsasquatch How do you know?

  • Nice job fighting the brush fire :)

  • He made some of the best drops I have seen.
