Max Brooks tackles the idea of slow zombies, and I think that as long as you aren't very young or infirm then you will have no problem surviving. A hunk of flesh moving towards you at 2 miles an hour is rather pathetic, can easily be avoided but even more easily killed. I don't even see how a zombie outbreak could occur with slow zombies, if it was only transmitted via direct contact.
