@vendurra I have been saying that for 30 years. Incredibly, as you no doubt already know, capitalism rests on that impossibility. I agree with you on Santorum and religion's malignant influence, too.
$10 says 75% of people who liked this filled up on Exxon gas in the past 6 months... Isn't it a stretch to say that we're in a police state when no one forces us to buy gas or live above our means. The more drivers, the more of this kind of conduct. The more tvs, ipods, ipads, etc. The more tar sands. There's not much oil, but there's plenty of consumers. Why not address the problem and not the symptom?
@oikosecosnomikos I've been boycotting Exxon since their monstrous Valdez spill. I bought a hybrid to reduce fuel consumption. I make some effort to address the problems, and extracting tar sands and burning that fuel creates a horror story. Renewable energy is what's needed along with conservation.
ive got a 5 litre car and its not gonna run its self, some of the images are out of context like oil spills which is to take in tree hugger types,a protester once said to me , your raping the land, i corrected him, i was actually shagging it up the arse and cumming all over its tits heh

He lost me at "if you don't know such and such you have been sleeping, you've been scammed," etc. Our entire system is not rotten, only segments of it.
@Go4Destiny It would take a book to explain why our ENTIRE SYSTEM is rotten. It's not only true, but important that our citizens learn this and quickly. It cannot be reformed, no more than the Third Reich or the Roman Empire or the Soviet Union could be reformed. We intend to show this to you in our next film called "Nightmerica". Stay tuned.
@alco424 I could explain it, but I won't. If you care, you'll do the work I did and find out. If you can't or won't do that, then explaining it to you is really a waste of my time. Good luck to you...and to us all.
@ClassWarFilms So, basically, you're copping out because you can't give an honest answer. What's wrong with simply saying......the big truck drove past the trees....now they'll all die. Oh yeah, it's as retarded as anyone who thinks that hauling heavy loads over a road is going to destroy the wilderness. News flash, the loads won't affect the wilderness anywhere along your roads....get over it.
@alco424 I rather suspected that you didn't really care about the question you posed. You already think you have the answer.
What you're teaching me and everyone who cares about these chances to communicate is that you're hostile, isolated, and feel power when you trash another person's point of view.
@ClassWarFilms Sorry you feel that way, but making blatantly false claims to further your agenda, does nothing to advance your cause. I am asking a valid question, and you are refusing to give me an answer.
If you'd care to give me an honest answer, I'd be more than willing to listen to your point of view. However, if you aren't, then your comments have no credibility what so ever.
@alco424 The big loads are to facilitate more extraction of tar sands. The oil when burnt is going to cause hastening of climate change, more acidification of oceans, faster melting of glaciers. The change leaves forests vulnerable. It's for short-term profit for a very few that the biospher is being ravaged.
@Cyallaire Thanks, I'm well aware of what the loads are, but hauling them on those roads won't cause the destruction of the wilderness that the OP is claiming, that was my whole point.
By the way, did you know that the coal industry is FAR more environmentally harmful than the oilsands industry? The destruction caused by the oilsands as a whole is greatly exaggerated, but people seem to jump on the bandwagon of the industry being evil and horribly destructive without being properly informed.

@jimhall2002 You're absolutely right. I finessed it. While there are satellite photos that do show the horrible Tar Sands activity, you rightly pointed out what I thought would only be analogously true. Good eye.
@ClassWarFilms Incidentally, you are already admitting you falsified information in your video, to make things look different than they are. I'd say that has already destroyed any credibility that you are seeking or had.
If you want to get a point across, try using facts. Facts you can actually back up, not just tell people to look for themselves to find the answer. I'd venture a guess that I know a great deal more about the whole oilsands industry than you do.

there is a lot of righteous whining in the comment section, about this video being astroturfing. A string of complaints about the author's not putting Cheney and Bush on it instead of Obama, but I am afraid I have NOT seen a shift toward environmental protection since the 2008 election and I see the continued prosecution of Tim DeChristopher and EPA delaying a Carbon Tailoring Rule as revealing the cornerstones of Obama's environmental policy. Which are quite simply "Business" "As" & "Usual."
Dear Sir: I am very concerned about your choice to allow mega loads through our national forest lands and into Canada. By doing this you are allowing one of the biggest polluters in the world to continue polluting when you should be encouraging clean energy for your state, our country, Canada and the world. Please watch the following. You're in this film and it's not looking good for you.
Rex W. Tillerson, CEO, Exxon Mobile Corp. 5959 Las Colmas Blvd., Irvin TX 75039 ; William W. George, Exxon Board of Dir., 617-495-6517; Brian Schweitzer, governor@mt.gov ; Butch otter, rbartlett@gov.Idaho.gov
@sirolo1 - Stephen Machiavelli Harper and his odious regime of neo-liberal predatory capitalist neoCONS make me ashamed, as a Canadian... and very worried for the future of my country.
after all, Harper did say that Canadians "won't recognize Canada" after HE gets through with it (treacherous bastard).
at a neocon gathering in the States, Harper gushed to his Republican counterparts:
"America, and particularly your conservative movement, is a light and an inspiration to people in this country and across the world."
"Canada is content to be a second-tier 'socialist' country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status."
"You won't recognize Canada when 'I' get through with it."
Stephen Harper, Canadian Prime Minister / Dictator-in-Chief
@simontimon2 Did you hear Santorum's stance on women's rights? You made it sound like destroying forests in Alberta is some big boost for women's rights. Did you see how the Indians in Canada, half women, have been pushed to the margins, in unheated substandard housing, while their land is raided? They don't get any money out of this, just displaced. Using renewable energy is a vote for women's rights, here and there.
@Cyallaire Where on earth did you come up with the vision of native women being pushed to the margins in unheated substandard housing because of the oilsands? You are mixing up two completely different issues, concerning natives in two completely different areas of the country. The group you saw in the substandard conditions are half way across the country, and are in that mess because they squandered $90 million dollars of government money instead of using it for what they need to live.
@alco424 It's not just native women, it's whole families left in extreme poverty without heating, as reported recently on a radio broadcast, and these natives aren't getting ANY of the money from the sale of this tar sand bonanza. I was responding to someone else's post regarding oil purchases as "voting" to suppress women's rights.
Who got $90? Was that restitution to those who were brutalized when forcibly removed from their families to be raised in gov't schools? Are you a shill?
@Cyallaire I know it's not just women. The native families you heard about are from a reserve half way across the country. They have nothing to do with the oil sands in any way, so why should they get a share of the money generated by them?
The native band you heard about are the ones who got the 90 million in government transfer payments over the past few years, but have pissed it away instead of using it to support themselves like the payments are intended for.
@Cyallaire All native bands get government transfer payments, it's bascially a welfare payment that is made to the band instead of individuals, so the band can use it to support their members and provide them with housing and the basic necessities.
The native bands that are affected by the oilsands are quite wealthy, and most certainly do share in the money from this bonanza as you call it. Don't believe everything you hear on the radio, or see on tv.
@Cyallaire Santorum's Christian policy is as backward as Sharia Law. No to Santorum, no to Sharia Law. Put an end to religion's influence in law & government.
@sirolo1 I am ashamed of you also (i am not Candian) but i am ashamed of myself too for not helping to make this world a better place when all i have to do is try.
seems to me that most commenters missed the message getting sidtracked by their paranoid defense of Osama, oops I mean Obama, to quote a friend the Teacher in Chief. All politicians are liars and money grubbers, to defend any is not for the benifit of the people, just the politicians I for one will cut up my Exxon card and discontinue doing business with them too.
This will cause traffic delays for Idaho and Montana. Nothing more. Nothing less. These morons are quite literally making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Oil is so essential to Idaho and Montana. There is no way in hell the states could run without it. Is big oil supposed to just pack up and leave, so we can munch granola and and spend weeks biking wherever we need to go?
@polyclitus That would be preferable to destroying all of our pristine lands and slowly cooking ourselves to extinction with the subsequent effects from insane carbon emissions........don't you think?
Sad because I really am passionate about the early message until they mucked up the ending. Normally I would've sent it everywhere as long as it's authentic (as someone below thinks maybe it's not ..I don't know nor do I know how to find out) even with the low class profanity, but tying Obama's photo to the corrupt government segment of it as opposed to Bush and Chaney who I'm sure were in power when this began makes it off limits to me....Just my opinion....
@TLChasteen@TLChasteen : Pathetic, anything to avoid the truth eh? Desperate to defend Obama against any responsibility for anything; he can't help it you say; he inherited all the bad. You watch a video about the most profane and depraved fouling of our collective nest by people who only want to make a buck, and you have the gall to complain about profanity.
@TLChasteen Obama will dither until he is ( surprise!) backed into a corner by the Repugs, as before, and then he will compromise big time with the usual insulting window dressing of minimal, under-performing watchdog regs, with no teeth and no funding and no real intention of holding Big Oil accountable for any thing, ever. But that will be okay with you, 'cause it's Obama.
Tell me they accomplished this destruction within the last 3 years of the Obama administration. Nonsense. One could have put Bush or Chaney on the end of it and I'd believe it. This is a shame. Hopefully someone who has their figures straight and isn't trying to tack this onto Obama will remake it. Then I'd post in a minute. But no profanity, please. the level of respect for the producers goes right through the floor. Why does someone like ME have to bring this to their attention?
@TLChasteen That is the silliest thing I've ever heard. When the editor said it was bullshit........he was absolutely right! Time to face the music. And by the way. Obama hasn't don't one thing to stop big oil! In fact.....if you remember, he went right along with the whole drill baby drill thing and opened up a bunch of turf for more offshore drilling just weeks before the the BP disaster! Guess he got his Karma. Even Robert Kennedy Jr. was flabbergasted with Obamas cave in to big Oil!
They should have stuck to the issue of who is directly at fault, the governors of Idaho and Montana and Canadians who are allowing this along with Exxon. Hopefully they'll make it over and do it right. I am going to send this complaint to them as it's beautifully done and includes a ton of very important information but I won't be suckered into sending out a bunch of anti-Obama propaganda that once again to me looks like an underhanded astroturfing scheme.
Overall it's a great production of some very important material but the use of profanity just cheapens it to a red neck level of poorly educated individuals. Also, why couldn't it focus on the problem at hand as opposed to making it look like Obama was in there and making money or getting a kick-back? This could almost be labeled as astroturfing to bias people against this administration which is FOR, not AGAINST the environment. Up to then I would have shared it but not if you're blaming Obama.
i just sent it viral- i believe after the news today of a Nun in a private prison and the horrific treatment we will all be taken to Private Gulags - we are now at war with the Establishment. This is ObamanationINC - puke
As a chemical engineer who has been fighting this war since 2005 I applaud this video. I'll do everything in my power to make it go viral. The energy industry should be nationalized.
@lobdillj Sounds good. We should have building codes that require energy efficiency in design - passive solar, solariums, double hung windows using recycled glass would provide meaningful employment. Ban cathedral ceilings, and electric devives that continually use energy purposelessly, and halt the nonsense of office buildings left empty at night with most lights on. With some changes of this sort, there'd be no use for tar sands or nukes, and much less oil would be burnt.
As you say, the first step is education... you might want to get some. Even though you can create a video showing lots of areas NOT involved in the oil sands or the routes needed for their equipment doesn't mean you know or understand this issue. In fact anyone that does know of these issues can see by the miss use of various clips in your video that you are trying to influence by using non-related clips. And you say others are corrupt. How sad.
Incredible video !! Save the earth.- Fuck the Corporations.

Did you see how the Indians in Canada, half women, have been pushed to the margins, in unheated substandard housing, while their land is raided? They don't get any money out of this, just displaced. Using renewable energy is a vote for women's rights, here and there.
Cyallaire 5 days ago
@Cyallaire Where on earth did you come up with the vision of native women being pushed to the margins in unheated substandard housing because of the oilsands? You are mixing up two completely different issues, concerning natives in two completely different areas of the country. The group you saw in the substandard conditions are half way across the country, and are in that mess because they squandered $90 million dollars of government money instead of using it for what they need to live.
alco424 5 days ago
@alco424 It's not just native women, it's whole families left in extreme poverty without heating, as reported recently on a radio broadcast, and these natives aren't getting ANY of the money from the sale of this tar sand bonanza. I was responding to someone else's post regarding oil purchases as "voting" to suppress women's rights.
Who got $90? Was that restitution to those who were brutalized when forcibly removed from their families to be raised in gov't schools? Are you a shill?
Cyallaire 4 days ago
@Cyallaire I know it's not just women. The native families you heard about are from a reserve half way across the country. They have nothing to do with the oil sands in any way, so why should they get a share of the money generated by them?
The native band you heard about are the ones who got the 90 million in government transfer payments over the past few years, but have pissed it away instead of using it to support themselves like the payments are intended for.
alco424 3 days ago
@Cyallaire All native bands get government transfer payments, it's bascially a welfare payment that is made to the band instead of individuals, so the band can use it to support their members and provide them with housing and the basic necessities.
The native bands that are affected by the oilsands are quite wealthy, and most certainly do share in the money from this bonanza as you call it. Don't believe everything you hear on the radio, or see on tv.

@Cyallaire Santorum's Christian policy is as backward as Sharia Law. No to Santorum, no to Sharia Law. Put an end to religion's influence in law & government.

@Cyallaire Have you ever f*cking lived in Fort Mac?
You know nothing about the people there, the tars sands are largest employer of first nations,

seems to me that most commenters missed the message getting sidtracked by their paranoid defense of Osama, oops I mean Obama, to quote a friend the Teacher in Chief.

Is big oil supposed to just pack up and leave, so we can munch granola and and spend weeks biking wherever we need to go?
polyclitus 9 months ago

@TLChasteen @TLChasteen : Pathetic, anything to avoid the truth eh? Desperate to defend Obama against any responsibility for anything; he can't help it you say; he inherited all the bad. You watch a video about the most profane and depraved fouling of our collective nest by people who only want to make a buck, and you have the gall to complain about profanity.
handibode 9 months ago
@TLChasteen Obama will dither until he is ( surprise!) backed into a corner by the Repugs, as before, and then he will compromise big time with the usual insulting window dressing of minimal, under-performing watchdog regs, with no teeth and no funding and no real intention of holding Big Oil accountable for any thing, ever. But that will be okay with you, 'cause it's Obama.
handibode 9 months ago
Tell me they accomplished this destruction within the last 3 years of the Obama administration. Nonsense. One could have put Bush or Chaney on the end of it and I'd believe it. This is a shame. Hopefully someone who has their figures straight and isn't trying to tack this onto Obama will remake it. Then I'd post in a minute. But no profanity, please. the level of respect for the producers goes right through the floor. Why does someone like ME have to bring this to their attention?
TLChasteen 9 months ago
@TLChasteen That is the silliest thing I've ever heard. When the editor said it was bullshit........he was absolutely right! Time to face the music. And by the way. Obama hasn't don't one thing to stop big oil! In fact.....if you remember, he went right along with the whole drill baby drill thing and opened up a bunch of turf for more offshore drilling just weeks before the the BP disaster! Guess he got his Karma. Even Robert Kennedy Jr. was flabbergasted with Obamas cave in to big Oil!
environews 7 months ago
They should have stuck to the issue of who is directly at fault, the governors of Idaho and Montana and Canadians who are allowing this along with Exxon. Hopefully they'll make it over and do it right. I am going to send this complaint to them as it's beautifully done and includes a ton of very important information but I won't be suckered into sending out a bunch of anti-Obama propaganda that once again to me looks like an underhanded astroturfing scheme.
TLChasteen 9 months ago
Overall it's a great production of some very important material but the use of profanity just cheapens it to a red neck level of poorly educated individuals. Also, why couldn't it focus on the problem at hand as opposed to making it look like Obama was in there and making money or getting a kick-back? This could almost be labeled as astroturfing to bias people against this administration which is FOR, not AGAINST the environment. Up to then I would have shared it but not if you're blaming Obama.

As a chemical engineer who has been fighting this war since 2005 I applaud this video. I'll do everything in my power to make it go viral. The energy industry should be nationalized.
lobdillj 9 months ago
@lobdillj Sounds good. We should have building codes that require energy efficiency in design - passive solar, solariums, double hung windows using recycled glass would provide meaningful employment. Ban cathedral ceilings, and electric devives that continually use energy purposelessly, and halt the nonsense of office buildings left empty at night with most lights on. With some changes of this sort, there'd be no use for tar sands or nukes, and much less oil would be burnt.
Cyallaire 5 days ago
As you say, the first step is education... you might want to get some. Even though you can create a video showing lots of areas NOT involved in the oil sands or the routes needed for their equipment doesn't mean you know or understand this issue. In fact anyone that does know of these issues can see by the miss use of various clips in your video that you are trying to influence by using non-related clips. And you say others are corrupt. How sad.
