  • Rhetoric: "The health care reform bill now in the Senate would be the largest deficit-reduction measure in a decade." -President Obama, Sept 9, 2009

Reality: While CBO estimates show a net decrease in the deficit by 2019, history shows this to be highly unlikely. Spending has traditionally been much higher than originally projected by the CBO and even with the current proposals, when looking at the 1st 10 yrs of actual spending (2014-2023), it will likely cost well over $2.5 trill

  • Screw these traitors to the constitution...VOTE THEM ALL OUT...

  • Yes, Sen. Reid, this is only the beginning of our surrender to the insurance companies.

Next week, the Congress gets to work on passing HR 3591, the Vichy France Imitation Act, which concerns how Americans will be supplied with the chloroform and tubs of Vaseline deemed necessary for cutting the spiraling costs of insurance-gang-rape procedures. Sen. Lieberman has expressed his support for a public option as a solution to this problem.

  • yes this is only the beginning of massive giveaways to insurance companies!

    Hope!

    CHange!!

  • How will guarantee a Sarah Palin victory in 2012? Will she even get through her first term or quit that too? It'll be a cold day in hell before she becomes president, accept it.

Oh, and I love all these clever conservative nicknames for Obama. Fox News is God

  • @Justwosweet

Do you have any idea what conditions are like in a VA hospital? I have worked in one and let me tell you that our soldiers deserve better! John McCain, a veteran himself would close them and offer soldiers a voucher. The soldiers could get better care if they we just directly gave them the money we were spending on the VA system. They have a hard time recruiting doctors. It is a disgrace!

  • So your answer to welfare is welfare.

  • "It's only the beginning" of our slavery to the insurance industry.

  • Umm.. It's only the continuation of our slavery to the healthcare industry.
