@UltimateDestructuM Yes it was made for Dave in 1986 and no others were made at the time. He did get 3-4 more in around 1990 with Megadeth logos but the logos on those are different style - not like what you see on the 80s albums. Google for Jackson King V J2713 for more info.

@megadethpwnsTallica I've actually bought 3 guitars that used to be Dave's. One from Ebay and two from Jackson collectors. Dave is selling stuff all the time so there is not a lot of magic needed to find his gear. A lot of his stuff was sold in the infamous Andy Bauer auctions. He also has his own Ebay store. At one time he had several guitars for sale on the Megadeth website. Of all my favorite Jackson players his guitars have been by far the easiest to find.

@MusicJamin330 With jumbos it's easier to do bends and the necks feels a bit faster to play overall. However the problem is that the notes go easily sharp when pressing hard with the fretting hand. I think that's why many aggressive players prefer smaller frets. Like Mustaine and Chris Holmes etc.

I'm not talking about the pickups but the guitars. They both have similar construction and cheap materials. So don't expect them to have much tone or resonance. You can change whatever pickup you want in there. EMGs are usually a good option on cheap guitars. The bridge is a budget FR copy so it's gonna be soft material and you can expect some issues with time. However for the price of a new RR3 you can get a very good used guitar like a model series Charvel etc.

No two guitars sounds exactly the same but overall those have the same elements. I only own US made Jacksons but I visit guitar stores regularly to keep up with stuff. I maintain the Jackson Guitar Palace website so it's good to keep up on the import models too. :)

I personally find the KV more comfortable. Especially since it's so easy to put it resting aginst a wall. Soundwise they are very similar.

Well that depends on which model you are talking about and how much it would cost you? I use US made King Vs so the quality is great and since I buy them used the prices are reasonable as well. :)

I got the ESP M-200FM It's a sweet guitar, but the Floyd Rose is a piece of crap. I goes out of tune, even when your fine tuning (when the nut is locked) I dont know why. My RR3 Rhoads' Floyd is better because its licensed and the ESP is Floyd Rose Special. Buy Jackson Guitars they are better

I'm quite picky about tone especially when recording. So I like to have guitars with different woods (poplar, alder, mahogany, maple...) and with different bridges, pickups, fret size and scale. Also bolt-ons and neck-thrus. Yes it's sick I know! :)

I wasn't really thinking about the new price as I always by them used. For 1500 usd one can get just about any US Jackson shape used.

I started off with a Japanese Jackson KV and played with it for many years. Once I tried a US model I was hooked but of course I had to find a job before I could by one.
