Hey just thought I would weigh in, even though it is a bit late.
While using Ragnell, Ike gets a large penalty to speed because of his small constitution (20 weight taken from his 11 constitution) meaning that he only has 21 speed, allowing Hector to double attack vs. him. All Hector has to do for the next attack is wear a Sword reaver.
The only way for Ike to counter the sword reaver is to use a lance reaver, which is too weak to do much of anything vs. Hector
You've got it all wrong. Constitution only affects who you can carry and also some skills such as colossus. Strength is what is used to calculate speed reductions. So all you need for 0 reduction to your speed is 20 strength to use a 20 weight weapon.

He has about 14 or 15 CON iirc, so unless you're intentionally trolling some silly fellow who is blowing the discussion out of proportion, this means he'll lose a total of 5-6 speed, resulting in him, in 2nd class, have 24~25 spd. This means he will not be double attacked by Hector. Even Ike from PoR would still have 22~23 speed, which is plenty fast enough to still not be doubled.

If considering Ike vs. Hector, use Ike from FE9. Using his stats in FE10 is useless cuz Intelligent Systems tried something completely different. Also Ike can't have Aether unless Hector is allowed Luna based on FE6 where he is a General. As for weapons, Ragnell/Armads would be the optimal choices, since the weapons are tied to their owners. As for who would win, work the numbers. IMO, Hector wins in a battle of attrition without skills while Ike wins a short battle with skills

Hector's stats are considered one of the best of any Lord in the entire fucking *series*. Speed included. And there's plenty of Legendary Weapons he could use for ultimate cheese. Ike would need to use Aether or bust.
This happened to me when I had Blossom on since I was close to lv20.
Nihil is given to Ike for free (as in a free scroll placed on him) it still takes up 20 capacity and can be removed. I suppose it's given to you because without it, a certain battle or 2 in the story would be very difficult without it.
Nihil is optional, Aether is mandatory and can not be removed.
With that certain battle being with the Black Knight! me and my brother took off Nihil jus to see if its possible to beat the black knight without it, and its not, the black knight takes enough dmg to OHKO ike with Eclipse
its not hard to beat the black knight. Hes really easy to beat. All I had on Ike was a skill that would replenish his hp every turn by 10% of his health and I've never used nihil on Ike once and i still made it far easily. All you have to do in this game is play strategicly and its pretty much simple and easy to beat.
Teag, he didn't take just enough HP, he godstomped you. Eclipse effect is to do 5 times the normal damage while reducing your defense to 0. Meaning that every bit of BK's 56 attack is done to you completely because your defenses during Eclipse is 0, then multiply that damage (56) by 5 and that's 280 HP damage! Assuming your Ike maxed out his HP (probably not; Ike's max HP is 65 BTW), then he would have died 4 times and still be taking damage. Not to mention that his skill activation is high(40%)
Yeah i know, the black knight is one of two characters who can ohko ike with maxed stats, the other being Dheginsea, and all i did to max out his hp is give him a Seraph Robe BTW
His stats were well below the limit. The problem was that he had too many skills equipped. When Ike becoems a Vanguard he has to have Aether so he had to unequip some skills to have enough capacity
That kind of thing happened to me once with Kurth. It was after he learns the skill Ire (I believe...correct me if I'm wrong) in Part IV Final 3. It wasn't full capacity, though, he just had too many skills.
I always love throwing Dragonfoe and Paragon at Kurth and give him either Celerity or the Boots (or BOTH) and have him go around slaughtering dragons in Part IV Final 3. ;)
thts one of the only ways for Kurth to get a SS stirke, his breath has a 25 or 22 power, i forget which, all i know is wutever Dheginsea's weap power is thts wut kurths is, and i got my Kurth MAXED OUT, he killed sephiran in one battle. If i beilieve so, it wuz in one attack, or he had like <5 hp left aftr first attk

They seriously downgraded ike from por to rd. I never once got aether in this game, but it was like 20% chance in every fight in por. Hes just brute strength in this one. he was my favorite character in tha last game, but now its definitely HAARRRRRR
hm,surprisingly in my last playthrough(finished today,3rd playthrough),haar had the most kills and stuff,so he was ranked 1st,2nd jill,3rd zihark or someone,4th ?,5th ike,usually ike is 1st...haar is one of my favs:)
Actaully it goes Ranger to Hero to Vanguard. Lord is a title given to a great Hero, but Ike renounces it at the end of POR. So essentially Lord and Hero are the same thing.
But Greil used both axes and swords in path of radiance as a Hero, yet in radiant dawn a hero can only use swords... so that does not make it the same class at all.
if u get SS in axes, have some1 else like Boyd Keiran, etc. Bless urvan, then give it to ike, Ike can actually kill Ashera with Urvan, and urvan suits him, since it wuz his father's axe
Ya, this happens to lots of people because Ike has a shitty skill capacity for someone who otherwise absolutely kicks ass, and because Aether takes up 30 and the Nihil takes 20 you've got no room.

Without skills, using the FE7 battle system, pitting everything I could against Ike... level 20/20 average stats.
Ike (Ragnell, 51 HP) deals 45-33=12 damage per hit. He hits twice per turn. He has a 100% hit rate.
Hector (Armads, 56 HP) deals 47-28=19 damage per hit. He hits once per turn. He has 53% hit rate.
Methinks Hector has no chance. And if Ike supports another character, Hector has no chance to even TOUCH IKe.

Ike's stats as a Hero were so high that when he promoted into a Vanguard, they were over the stat limit.

They seriously downgraded ike from por to rd. I never once got aether in this game, but it was like 20% chance in every fight in por. Hes just brute strength in this one. he was my favorite character in tha last game, but now its definitely HAARRRRRR

hm,surprisingly in my last playthrough(finished today,3rd playthrough),haar had the most kills and stuff,so he was ranked 1st,2nd jill,3rd zihark or someone,4th ?,5th ike,usually ike is 1st...haar is one of my favs:)

so it goes from ranger-lord-hero-vanguard. i think vanguard looks the coolest. ike's hair looks like mine (despite it being blue)

Actaully it goes Ranger to Hero to Vanguard. Lord is a title given to a great Hero, but Ike renounces it at the end of POR. So essentially Lord and Hero are the same thing.

But Greil used both axes and swords in path of radiance as a Hero, yet in radiant dawn a hero can only use swords... so that does not make it the same class at all.

if u get SS in axes, have some1 else like Boyd Keiran, etc. Bless urvan, then give it to ike, Ike can actually kill Ashera with Urvan, and urvan suits him, since it wuz his father's axe

Ya, this happens to lots of people because Ike has a shitty skill capacity for someone who otherwise absolutely kicks ass, and because Aether takes up 30 and the Nihil takes 20 you've got no room.
I had provoke on him at the time, nobody even touched my lowbies =D
then i had to trash it =(

Hmm I gave my Ike the skill that gives +move, I think. Never finished Radiant Dawn because I lost interest, but I guess I'll get through it this summer.
