I don´t intend to be a moralist or to teatch anyone about hunting.
I understand that It´s a cultural, attitude towards hunting, and game, and i respect that, and leave it at that, but would this be in say Sweden, or some other parts for that matter, the hunter would not be able to feel any joy, after a non clean kill shot.
I would like to understand your attitude towarda hunting/game?
I don´t categorize this vid among vids, that I see on youtube, as plain cruel, clearly you tried, but the joy?
@urghize The text refers to this as "Traditional archery hunting at its best!" Obviously that is an overstatement. I think the uploader is trying to promote his channel by using hyperbole.
Regarding the non-clean kill, It looks to me like they initially thought it was a better shot than it later turned out to be. Sometimes that happens. Absent the possibility of error there can be no success.
IMO, this is a classic example of poor shot placement on moose. Arrow hit way too far back. "Behind the shoulder" on moose means the line of the shoulder and no more than that. No matter how good shot you are, you have to know the anatomy of the game hunted. Too bad that most 3D targets have the target area located too far back. Moose is a great example of heavy shouldered animal and with these animals the hump is better indicator of the interiors than the back line of the shoulder.
HEY, are you taking care of the meat or just bowhunting and hurting moose bulls for fun?? why cant you show when you seach for it and take it home from the forrest? Ive seen too many videos of americans and canadians doing the same shit on youtube withour showing the seach and final kill one single time. I want an answer from the guys making this video, not some other jerk snapping me off. /Simon Påvals, Finland
I think our ancient ancestors shot an animal and then followed him for a second close shot with a javelin, which does more damage. The hunt sometimes took days. Aren't you supposed to be doing the same thing instead of discussing the shot ?
@dtripakis how ancient are you talking here? hunts shouldn't of at any point in history taken days. Even with low pound bows its all about shot placement. So even when using a "javelin" before the stone age it never took days to kill game, especially when most groups hunted together.

GREAT JOB on calling this animal in close like that.. how close was that..??
With a long bow... it must me a lot less velocity that a compound I imagine..requiring a person to get in and make a closer shot...??
Looked like a good shot you made on that first bull; did you find the animal...??
Cheers

@Mooseracks You can take out a moose at about 40yrds with a Longbow, that shot was almost point blank.
Doesn't look like they vitals so the moose didn't bleed out enough....
