@itsmymp3 no, its a bad idea. it is not what your plants need or want. that is a good mix for your lawn, and that is about it.

i need some advice. if i plant my plants directly in the ground useing the soil from the ground and mixing it with some mosture control soil and some slow release 12-12-12 fertilizer what do u think my end results would be??

@241kyle my guess is you would be very disappointed. Nothing wrong with using the soil in your yard if its good soil. but never use time release. nothing good can come of it. better off using just water

@241kyle better idea would be to buy a bag of pearlite. Its the white stuff you see in bags of soil. You can get a very large bag for about $20. mix some in with your yard dirt to help keep them watered longer.
