I think the whole point is to celebrate the creation of a new family or an addition to an existing family. If there's another child, get him or her something to. we had a small baby shower once at work for one of our co workers, it was just a handful of us, so its not uncommon to have a mini shower, I think it was a sweet idea to have something for mom, nice save at the end, always love happy endings!

Am I the only one who usually likes going to baby showers? Where are all the guests? Visiting with everyone makes it fun (and seeing all the cute, fun baby gifts, besides diaper bags ;) )

Okay, now see, this is why they do those gift register things. I was clueless on baby showers until my wife and I helped give one for my business partner. They list off the stuff they need and then they don't wind up with four diaper bags.

we had a small baby shower once at work for one of our co workers, it was just a handful of us, so its not uncommon to have a mini shower, I think it was a sweet idea to have something for mom, nice save at the end, always love happy endings!

I agree, actually two people and four diaper bags? But then again, its not how many but having your friends there for your biggest day next to your wedding is what counts...and getting a little surprise is also nice for the Mom to be.

i don't know if perfume is a good gift for a PG woman, smells often bother them, trust me, I know! I would rather get a camera or video recorder to take pictures and video of the new baby!

Actually, I recently attended a shower that was AFTER the birth - although in that case the baby was premature. Sadly, Howie wasn't there.

When we gave my god daughter her baby shower the only thing we really had duplicates of were burp cloths & receiving blankets, but it's still nice to think of the new mom, too.

Call me crazy, but I'd be happy with butt wipes and diaper rash cream. That stuff really adds up! But if someone wanted to bring me some perfume as well, that would be fine with me.
