  • put some lights in the room damn it!

  • I thought the E6600 was an intel pentium dual core @ 3.06 GHz

  • @jaguarjay13 actually it's a 2.4ghz Core 2 duo chip. I overclocked it to 3.6ghz.

  • @jaguarjay13 there is two models, Intel Pentium Dual core E6600 at 3Ghz i think it was, then there is a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 at 2.4Ghz, and the Core 2 Duo E6600 is way better than the Pentium E6600

  • thats a sweet rig right there. im getting a rig from a friend with the same cpu and, as i cant afford a water cooler, do you know how effective the arctic freezer cooler pro rev 2 is for overclocing? (i plan to go upto around 3.5GHz by the way)

  • @blainyrules When I had a Thermaltake typhoon air cooling, I got the e6600 up to 3.4Ghz. If that cooler is better, then maybe you can push it to 3.5Ghz.

  • @dongman78 yeah, from what ive heard its better, from doing a little bit of browsing ive seen people use the same cooler with heavily overclocked i7 cpus

  • @blainyrules i7 cpus are better and more consistent overclockers though. Any i7 920/930 cpus almost always hit 4+ Ghz even with air cooling.

  • @dongman78 well that's pretty obvious as it's a more advanced chip. e6600 vs i7!?..... I bought a zalman for £20 and mine is running @ 3.2 is running cooler now that it was with a stock cooler!

  • not bad at all ;-)

  • man those setting u got there rock too bad it blows for your video quality cant really enjoy watching it in action :( i give u a thumbs down with my head down crying.lol

  • oh I think i see it, 1.44v, not bad

  • Nice setup.. did you try to get it above 3.6ghz at all? Cause many people have gotten 3.6ghz on air, i bet you could go higher. Also I'm wondering what voltage you used.

  • Very very nice overclock. I have an e6600 and have a BIG water setup, ie all copper 3x120mm fan radiator and I know how hard it is to get big numbers out of the old conroe.

  • this processor will never sweat, it's has to much class and power :)

  • ge so many angry ppl.. hes just showing us his oc and his rig no need to go all haters -__-..so what for those who have a better rig ge..its sounds more like pc ppl hating pc ppl....haters should be hating macs XD

  • This rig is 2 years old and I've replaced the graphics card twice (3870 X2, now E8400 processor paired with a GTX 295). I have to laugh at this ignorant haters.

  • pretty much nobody uses cheap generic RAM for gaming... E6600 is pretty out of date already for gaming but since it is from 2 years ago, I consider it not bad.

  • I posted this vid on September 12, 2007. Crysis wasn't even released then. COH, lost planet and Call of Juarez were the only DX10 games out when I made this video. You're an idiot.

  • so? you could played some other high graph games. dx 10 sucks you know. make a new vid where you play crysis and far cry 2 on max settings then i will say that your computer is better than mine.

  • I've upgraded my rig 1 year ago. Then I upgraded again 3 months ago. I now have an E8400 OCed to 4.1 Ghz and a GTX 295 and it does play Crysis with all settings maxed out and 16X AA on a 1680 X 1050 resolution. If your computer is better than mine, I have no problem with that. Dude, I don't even know you! :P

  • fuck off. I'll say my computer is better than yours.

  • NOOB XD What bad OC xD my E8400 could be overclocked to 4750Mhz with an aircooling noctua C12P XD my CPU has got 9,71 seconds in SuperPi 1M and my GeForce8800GTS512 is about 28% overclocked with an accelero S1 rev 2 and i've got 15000 points in 3D mark06

  • why get Crappy ram? if you're spending a bunch on water cooling ect. why not get better ram?

  • i got my e6600 to 3.6 on air :P

EVGA 680i mobo and tuniq tower 120.

leaping the cpu to get more juice out soon

  • I got my e6600 to 5.2Ghz, no joke.

It runs in that state for about 5 mins before it stalls, then it runs at 3.85Ghz for about an hour then down to 3.3 for constant use.

I overclocked my X700Pro GPU too to 602Mhz RAM.

It was all setup for me I jus ran in a few tweaks.

Check out the video proof on my channel.

  • Hey very nice i have 2 a Intel Dore2Duo e6600

i will overclock it to 3,4 with air cooling (zalman) What VCore Voltage i have 2 set ? Standart, 1,5 v ? ty

  • If I remember correctly, when I had this rig @ 3.6 Ghz, my vcore was 1.45. There's no standard voltage for OCing. The only way to know what voltage you're going to need for your CPU is to try it first. Start with a "low" voltage, say 1.40, and torture test it with Orthos. If it fails, increase the vcore. Wash, rinse, repeat until it's stable. Watch the core temps though. Make sure it's within the acceptable limit.

  • Arround 1,4/1,45 ill say my runs 24/7 3,300 Ghz on 1,429 V

  • LOL my E6600 runs 3600MHZ on air idel 35 why use watter ?

  • What's your load temps with Orthos running 24 hours? When I had air cooling on this rig, my idle temp was 32, but running Orthos the temp hit 60 in a few hours. So I decided to go water, and I hit 3.8 on this baby. That's as high as it could go, though.

  • My Temp At load After 24 Hours Orthors is 50

When i turn it of 5 sek after its down at 35 :)

  • Nice! What's your vcore on that chip? Turn it up a notch and bring it to 3.8. That's what I had running 24/7 with this rig until I sold it to build a new one.

  • Vcore 1,500

On 3,7 Ghz cant go further but thats a real nice score for a air model :)

Now its 3,675 GHz Multi 9x Fsb 1633,4 mhz

  • You need to consider ambient temp...

  • if u have the core 2 duo e8400 at stock 3.00 GHz, does that mean you can run a program that uses up to 6GHz??? someone please answer, you can even call me retarded if u want.

  • If a program uses more than one thread and the OS lets it hog CPU time then theoretically, the program will use 2 X 3GHZ of CPU time. But that's like testing a car that goes from 0 to 125 MPH on a straight road and expecting it to perform the same on a crowded city street.

If windows would let a single program use up ALL the CPU cycles on both cores, the whole system would appear locked up until that program exits. The good news is that it doesn't appear to do that.

  • ok thanks

  • nice rig

  • Thanks man.

  • and this shows ur using it 24/7? I can boot easily my Q6600 on 4Ghz on air.

  • I can boot my E6600 to 4 Ghz too. But it's not stable. I think the 965p mobo is holding it back. This rig has been running 24/7 since last year.

  • hey man nice rig..look i have a e6750@3,25ghz 4 gigs and a 4850. will dual cores be enoough for future gaming or will we have o upgrade soon?

  • Stick with your e6750 until a newer batch of Nehalems are released. By that time, it will become mainstream (read: cheaper), more stable, and more overclockable. Also, there would be more multi-threaded apps & games. Games aren't heavily CPU bound anyway. I don't think that will change in the near future. You've got a pretty good GPU there so I don't think you'll need an upgrade soon.

  • thanks for the advise ;)

  • Very nice

    You gettin the e8400?

    Or waitin for the Nahelem

  • I got the e8400 OCed to 4.2 GHz months ago and I'm waiting now for Nehalem & the ATI 4870X2. If it's considerably faster than my current rig then I'll definitely build a new PC.

  • if i were you i would wait for the 6 core nehalems

the 4870x2 will be nice also

  • This case is an Armor, correct?

  • Care to educate me on your concept of 'the real thing'? Learn to spell 'loser' before you tell someone that he's an idiot.

  • whats the name of the song? :D nice rig btw

  • bump.. song anyone please? :P

  • i used TrackID and got the name of the song! hehe

its I love my computer - Bad Relogion from the album New America

  • don't really even need quad core for gaming lol

  • I agree. A year ago, it has been speculated that most new games will take advantage of all four cores. But until now that still holds untrue. I'm glad I held out on purchasing a quad because with a dual core, you can OC it like crazy and it will perform faster on current games. Now I have an E8400 clocked to a stable 4GHZ. Running it 24/7 without any problems. Will post that later.

  • wow thats nice :] a whole one 1 ghz must run games nice

  • What kind of motherboard are you sporting there? Also, with the water cooling system, do you always have to refill it?

  • This is my old rig. The motherboard is Gigabyte 965P. I check the water level once in a while, which is not a big deal because I have a transparent side panel. The manual says check it every six months.

  • Noob question: when over clocking cpus u must set multiplers right? for example: multipler of 10 with a cpu frequency of 320, that would equal 3.2GHZ right? Also another idiot question, do all motherboards have some kind of multipler?

  • You can adjust both bus frequency and multiplier when overclocking. It depends on the CPU what multiplier you can use on it. The bus frequency depends on the motherboard. Find out the front side bus of your motherboard then divide that number by 4 to get the stock frequency (eg. 1333/4=333.) You can set your frequency higher than stock but you'll get to a point where it won't let you boot. That's when you'll have to increase some voltages on the motherboard.

  • very well said. Let's not forget losening those timings ;)

  • How do I set my voltages on the motherboard? Through a jumper or something? I only know through the BIOS.

  • to overclock my cpu (C2D E6430 2.13 GHZ) to about 3.2, would i need a super cooling system, or can i buy a nice big heatsink with 2 big fans?

  • ive got that chip. Havent got water cooling though. can i get mine clocked that fast on fans?

  • I got the same with 800mhz ram. Im on 3.2MHz overclocked with 47 degrees Idle and 60 degrees max..

Mines air cooled with a blue orb fan, I could easily push it again, which I will. maybe try get to 3.5MHz on air cooled.

85 degrees is the cores max temp i believe so just stay clear of that.

  • thanks alot for this mate. Great comment. can i add you on msn? talk me thew overcloking mine?

  • Sorry dude I dont use msn. I overclocked last nite again to 3.4ghz and its stable. So I got 43% more power of just air, and no voltage change.

Its really really easy. I got a p5b deluxe board so it mite be different for urs.

B4 u start overclocking download 'core temp' to monitor ur temps. Then go into bios advanced > jumperfree > then set ur FSB to say around 333 then keep going.

The FSB option is only availible when its set to manual, its the 3 numbers & should be on like 266 now.

  • i got a foxconn motherboard, just looked in the box that it came in and there is it own little tool thing! so set the fsb at 320. currently running 2877mhz, thats with intel cooler. I live in england so its pretty cold, after clocking my cpu is 30 degrees C. how do these figures look to you matey?

  • Yeah cool thats what I first did, around 2.8. I found the stock fan wasnt cooling it enough, I got a blue orb fan(huge) for like $40 and it drop 15-20 degrees....

Atm Im idleing at 45 degrees which is well safe. If I was u I would push it alittle further, cause 30 degrees is nothing. I got mine to 380 no probs, make sure ur ram is set to auto so it runs the same speed as ur FSB, a 1:1 ratio. I love these dual cores, u can overclock them to the sh*thouse.

  • yeah i made sure of that too. how hot should it be running at idle then?

  • to be honest I dont kno, it'll be written somewhere... I do kno if its above manufacturers specs it will decrease the life of the core..

Which is still like 4+ years anyways.

If u can keep it under 50 degrees nothing can go wrong. I had mine on 74 C for ages like 3 months before I knew about it and got a proper fan.

  • Sorry dude I dont use msn. I overclocked last nite again to 3.4ghz and its stable. So I got 43% more power of just air, and no voltage change.

  • hey guys how come my multiplier doesnt sit on just x9 sometimes i go's less ? normal or is it just set to save power?

  • a setting in bios is causing your cpu to lower its multiplier when your not stressing your cpu alot. don't know whats it called but my mobo has this feature too. (mines GA-P35-DS3L gigabyte)

  • i got a GA 965P DS3P if you find out what it is please tell me i tried pretty much everything and it wont damn work lol thanks a lot dude

  • i was ocing to 3.6ghz so i turned off 4 things.

    CIA

Under the advanced bios features -

CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) - Disabled

    CPU thermal monitor - disabled

    CPU EIST Function - Disabled

remember though to monitor your temps if your ocing. from now your cpu-z shouldn't read it as lower multiplier and will not flutuate with it.

  • i got a asus P5GC-MX motherboard and i cant overclock in bios !. please can you help me with my processor and my motherboard because i got a intel core 2 duo 2,2ghz and if i overclocking the max speed is 3,8ghz !. you got another idea for example how i can get the max speed ?. please help i would be so happy if i fix this. i want a great program so i can overclock. do you kmow a overclock program that isnt checking motherboard model ?. please help realy need to fix this shit :O

  • If you have a nvidia gpu, you can install nvidia n tune. this little program help you to overclock your motherboard and the graphic card but i don't no if you can overclking at the max speed (3.8 !!!O_o)

  • i cant install the shit . i need a nvidia nforce2 or nforce 3 motherboard to run it :(. i'll think im going to buy a new motherboard :P

  • Just wondering wats ur fps in C&C 3, mine locks as 30.. is there a way to surpass that... patch maybe?

  • I'm getting 30fps also because the C&C 3 developers capped the fps so you can't exceed that limit. I didn't bother to look for a patch because the game runs smoothly. Your eyes won't be able to tell the difference between 60 FPS and 30 FPS in an RTS game, so why bother? If it's a "constant" 30FPS then you're good to go. Anything below that and you're bound to notice a degraded performance.

  • NICE SONG LOL

  • can you explain water cooling? i want to install it on my e6550, and doesn't water + electricity = bad? also how often do you have to refill and how do you do that? thanks

  • Unless there's a leak in one of the tubes, it's not water + electricity. It's more like high temperature+water=lower temperature. Having a lower operating temperature will give you more headroom to overclock your CPU and/or GPU.

To install water cooling on your computer, you can either buy a case that has a built in water cooling system or you can buy a water cooling kit. Either option is more convenient than building your own. Just don't splash water on your components and you'll be fine.

  • u can always use mineral oil...

  • lol great choice in music man.

  • thanks!

  • now i ask u, do u have a life? haha just kidding man ur pc rocks and im jeallous :]

  • 1337!!!

  • core2 duos are good for overclocking because they are actually the old pentium m chips from laptops and they have low voltage, so heightening the voltage doesnt create as much heat as a desktop processor.

  • Good sh*t on the overclock!!! I got the T. Armor also; tell me that not the best case you've ever had! How stable is your rig?

  • 24 hours Orthos torture and still stable.

  • for those of you wondering, his case is a Thermaltake Armor (at least I'm pretty sure of it)

  • what's case name i want buy like that in ebay

  • Not to mention the beautiful case!

    What song is that?

  • Bad Religion's I Love My Computer & 21st Century Digital Boy

  • Awesome 3.6=Uber!!!
