In November, I had the pleasure of introducing my 16 year old daughter to Angelo between acts at the Cleveland Agora.

If the Bone were more popular, they wouldn't be so accessible and their shows less intimate. I cherish every one of the 25 Fishbone shows I have seen over the last 20-odd years

Its a shame that groups like this never make the mainstream..Jimi Hendrix never really made mainstream in the states until after he died. The blacks felt he wasn't black enough and the whites felt he wasn't white enough. He had to go to europe to make the money and music and most of all be accepted as a man and musician. Much like this group . Music should have a sound and not a colour.....

It's unfortunate that bands that are truly original are basically ignored by the mainstream media and the big record companies. I guess the record company execs don't have the balls to take a chance on innovative bands because they don't know if they will sell. Bands shouldn't become victims of their own originality. Come on record companies, get some balls and back some original bands or you will all be bankrupt in 10 years.

Reality of my surroundings is such a classic album. Fishbone always manage to fuse so many different styles into their music. Funk, punk, soul, ska, rock. Awesome live band too.
