i thought 36 were fantastic back when they brought this album out. their singer has a great voice. it sounds slightly like he's singing underwater with the shake in his voice which is a great effect. i wish they hadn't tread so heavily on the 'hardcore' vocals later on. his normal singing voice is what makes them great. dont get me wrong a bit of aggressive vocals is good too.

"it stains us all" is about how the act of suicide not only tarnishes the memory of the deceased but also how it negatively affects the lives of the people close to them. Overall about how people don't see the signs until it's too late. "lace me up, I'm still looking for the angels in the snow" is a reference to straight jackets and delusions of grandeur. Powerful song. period.
