  • I once played a game like this. But I forgot the name. The player character walked through dungeons like here, but you could see the player's hands in the screen always.

    Any idea?

  • seems legit.

  • good, but i hope they improve the graphics in the next one

  • classic , the best game ever? always remember the tree spawning room on level 3? hard to remember now so long ago , could keep going back to room until you reached master lol

  • Technically It's 21 Minutes.

  • 3do slayer

  • when i was a kid i thought this game was so scary. I never could get too far though because of a software failure. Now with this video i can see what I "missed out on"

  • If this is speed up it's not an speed run....

  • When is a Wall not a wall?

  • Wow Memories of this are amazing it was so intense when I was a kid, just loved it.

  • Pink worms suck

  • ST1040 fanboy checking in. I want to play it again!

  • This is the best game ever! I miss it so much!

  • that`s really annoying!!!!!!

  • Normally, war cry increases the fighter level. What version is this?

  • Why you only used 1 champion?

  • you can´t be serious wtf >_>

  • is this tool assisted?

  • Excellent run of an excellent game.

Anyway, the only bad thing about this game that I can think of is how repetitive the surroundings are. The whole freakin' place looks the same. I do adore the interface, however! Those arrows... the inventory screen...

Similar games with more visual variety (surrounding-wise) usually lacks a really cool interface. They are usually made to look reflect the rest of the game - mostly the most common surroundings. And that's plain boring.

  • They are usually made to reflect the rest of the game*

    Curse you, typos.

  • btw, i just cannot believe my eyes, omg, madness.

  • best part of a few months of my life played through in 20 mins, how depressing!

  • @khisanth75

yeah. DM was an experience to be savoured, like a Christmas chocolate box, or...well use your imagination.

  • Clever stuff, but just too fast to really appreciate as a viewer.

  • My god, I was about 5 when this came out and the game used to scare the crap out of me. Worst was when the torch started to fade and there was a mummy around the corner! Golden memories!

Still have my ST somewhere but not sure it works so well now :(

  • wasn't dungeon master randomly generated? How can he do this harddd game in just 20 minutes without cheating? Many attempts?

  • its not randomly generated, and yes many attemps but talent before all

  • no it wasnt dungeons alweys looks that same

  • What a rapid playing!

I tried to do like you, but couldn't.

I spent 1 hour even to enter level 03. X-P

  • have wanted to play this for years.used to play eye of beholder 1&2 on a500+.fantastic games.have just downloaded eye 1,2 and 3 along with dungeon master so finally after 20 odd years can now play it.somehow i don't think i will be as good as you at playing it.great walkthrough!!

  • I loved this game on my amiga... Didn't realize I had to have 1mb, and so had to spend 170.00 for the other 1/2 mb cartridge prior to playing this...Then saved all my money to buy color monitor...lol 1988

  • 20 years ago I soooo wanted to play that game, but couldnt afford a computer ... I was 10

    ;)

  • I recall my mom playing this when I was kid...she actually mapped out the entire dungeon and had more fun doing that then actually beating it LOL.

    Still a great game.

  • Wish my mum was as cool as that!

  • Hey, I´ve been drawing maps of each level of Dungeon Master myself. I seem to know every turn of the way up to this day. ;)

  • She did it to almost every game like that.

Zelda....Ultima entire series...shame they took that kind of stuff out.

  • oh-ew-ra :))

    good memories, thx 4 posting

  • Revolutionary indeed.. a 1st person 3dlike rpg. They probably set the standards of gameplay... only thing that changed is the graphics in games.

  • my favorite game on my atari 520 st..great great great souvenir

  • Dungeon Master is definintely one of the most revolutionary games ever, it's still very playable and when it was released it was amazing. I almost shit my pants when I faced the first mummy. :)

  • @megagurka pussy

  • Still a great game. After playing the original Bard´s Tale to excess, Dungeon Master made my jaw drop. Probably the first real-time RPG ever. It´s hard to describe the fascination this game oozed 20 years ago. The graphics, the gameplay, the fact that everything you do has influence on the development of the characters were revolutionary.

  • Yep. Anyone who got into this game knows what you mean. It had an atmosphere all its own that drew you into the dungeons, deeper and deeper. The best game I have EVER played.

  • wow i remember this game. i was young when I played it, so I didn't know the name of it. After all these years.. i found it again ! I can't wait t give it a whirl again.

  • @tinstareel2 I have to agree. This was the best game EVER. But I also enjoyed the original Ultima Online and Diablo.

  • ITS NOT 20 ITS 21

  • Figgin ruled. I remember having to write down the sequences of the rooms to win. Drinking water, filling the flasks, finding the keys(What a Bitch). Creating potions(THAT GO BOOM)! The little metal dagger you needed to kill certain enemies. THE hit and back up and run tactics. I've played FEAR(recent) on my computer but I don't think I could have won, without experiencing this games.Yep ONU NUMERAL! The only other game that had that type of impact, Final Fantasy v11.Spells no book good point.

  • This is in my nummer 1 list of scare and exciting shit.

wish they maded more of thoose.. still but then in todays grafics, would be the bomb

  • Still one of the best RPGs/FPSs ever. I really had to learn the spells too, as I had no manual with the game, which added to the realism.

  • this game was soooooooo friggin hard and it was so spooky ...brings back alot of memories

  • Ah, the fighting retreat...fond memories...

  • I was impressed by the Morrowind and Oblivion speedruns but this is so much more difficult to achieve due to the minimal differentiation in scenery throughout the game. Just one wrong move is all takes to get hopelessly lost. Congratulations, amazing and hilarious!

  • was the BEST game RPG ever.. i was soo adicted when i was a kid, ( sneaky playing at midnight haha, till i got like a heartattack all the ghost's chasing me.

I did ended the game, but the ending was omg disapointing.

Any 1 got part 2 for me btw?

    I only played that demo.

  • I always used to run into the walls even when taking my time with this game!

  • Too fast for me!!

  • right, i agree! unbelievable! :)

  • fuck yeah

  • omg...

  • Well done and maximum kudos! Your work reminds me of when I soloed Dungeon Master twelve years ago (although I used a reincarnated SYRA as my character and took quite a bit longer than you did)!

  • Very cool :)

  • cool old game
