  • One of the best singer/songwriters, if not the best, we've seen in OZ....and still going.

I think I saw Russell perform in every pub in Melbourne in the 80s. Always a great live sound.

  • BE THAT = unconditional LOVE ((((O)))) 4 EACH n EVERY ONE

  • Just keeps getting better as the years roll on. One of the all time greats of Oz rock.

  • a man/performer/artist way beyond the limits set by his peers at the time of the original recording..a truly international performer and more importantly... AGELESS

  • fav song - awesome!!!

  • Beautifully sung with great emotions

  • Bows head to the great one...

  • Always relate this song to the Dish and 1969

  • one of the best voices in Australia.....back in the 60s and 70 he had a great voice....still hasent changed a bit

  • This song is so beautiful. I just love it. And Russell is so amazing, such lyrics as these he wrote, touch me so deeply. And his guitarist is really amazing. I love when people play guitar solos on acoustics. Sounds so lovely and melodic.

  • This guy just gets better and better ... got the tears rollin, " can you see me... "

  • Love the acoustics. Great vocals. Real music

    Big Dennis

  • Still looking and sounding just as good Russell

  • I hear ya Tarryhoot. I rate the songs in the same order as you. Just the way he sings Rachels coming home...like no other, just a great unique voice. Sweet sweet love I must of played over and over for a year.

  • "Wings of an eagle" was the first album my oldest brother ever bought, I was about nine or ten at the time. From the first time he played it , I was rapt.

"Rachels comin' home" would have to be my favorite of the whole album.

"Sweet, Sweet love" is a very close second.

Classic album from a classic Australian artist

    ROCK ON RUSSELL !!!

  • I introduced my daughter to the real thing many years ago.. around the same time I found an album in a $10 bin with real thing on it. I gave it to my daughter who 15years later still has it as a fave album.. wings real thing swet swet love are all songs we sing loud around the house n her friends think we are nuts with strange music. Cant get music as beautiful n as well written as this now days. My daughter is now 21. My 11yo is now loving russel music. thanks.

  • Just beautiful....

  • I have always love Russell Morris's voice and songs...but after a long time of not hearing him...he's only got better......

  • This a classic now Russell as are so many of yours now... Love 'em :)

  • I've seen Russell Morris quite a few times performing in nightclubs around Melbourne in the 90's. Russell has always been an enjoyment to watch. Now, I we just need to get him up to Albury/Wodonga way.

  • It's on my partners you tube.

  • "Hush" by Russell at the same gig.

  • What is the last song at the end credits???

  • Russell Morris... What a man... This is what true legends are made of...

    I adore you Russell... xxx

  • I think that I am physiologically tuned to this songs resonant frequency. What legends you guys are!!!!

  • just like the original version, saw him and Caddy live a RSL club and they are well worth the money to see. The music is still sensational.

  • Russel you are a great singer and so is the guy who play's the guitar and the drummer. Great trio. Love it, love it, love it. Hope you keep going for many more years.

  • Good on you cobber..that's a story I like to hear. It's amazing that two acoustic guitars and three harmonies can produce something that leaves the listener hardly robbed of any sweet memories of the original.

  • heard this song this afternoon on the radio.... it had been years. Had to come find it on here when we got home. Love the guitar!

  • Good stuff...like it...

  • FANTA!!!

  • Glenn or Rusell hee hee

  • I agree Peter -

Glenn has a nice touch when he sings.....and it is a GREAT song.

  • i listen this song everydays!

  • Superb, Russell.............

Do you lose your way in the middle of the day

Do you see your brother crawling?

And all the while he's calling out for help from you?

Wah hoo wah hoo, wah hoo ...

  • I really love this song. Thanks for posting!!!

  • I am speechless...and the BV's are perfect too, a brilliant bed for what Russ is doing. Is this man married...? hold me down! lolol!!!

  • Thanks for the clip. I love this song. I heard him live in Fremantle last night - great concert with Brian Cadd. His voice seems to get better and better.

  • Beautiful song, amazing musicians! Kevin Murphy is a childhood friend and I was lucky enough to go on tour with the guys in Perth 2007. Happy memories

  • Credit is at t he end. Peter Robinson.

  • does any one know who the guitarist is that plays with him in this video

  • @dansecurity Yep; the guitarist is Pete Robinson, and his drummer is Kevin Murphy. Great Aussie talents, both of 'em.

  • Now, THAT'S what I'm talkin' about...REAL music written and performed by a legend of Australian music. Russell sounds better now than he did in the early 70's.

  • Got 2 c him again Friday night again still has that magik voice has not changed & if so its only gotten better 'gorgeous song'

  • love this song

thanks for writing it who ever wrote it

    and for uploading

they should make more songs like this

  • OK... we've all got older and I still think he is brilliant. How funny that a nanna could still have the hots for a bloke that used to have hair! LOL

  • I was fortunate enough to open for Russell at the London Tavern in Melbourne in 1983. Unfortunately at the time I didn't really understand or appreciate how incredible a singer songwriter he actually was.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Great sound. I'm amazed he still sings it just as beautifully. This song had so much meaning for me in my teens. Anyone know what his inspiration was?

  • still got it mate.... nice clip ......great memories of my youth ....

  • There is very little post production on the sound.

Peter fearn had it locked in on the night, great job and great mixer.

  • Agreed. Peter used to do the sound for a band I was in back in '87.

  • I've seen Russell perform many times over the years and he never disappoints. His voice is as strong and clear now as it ever was.

    5*****

    Dave.

Oh yeah, and on nice job on the live sound by Foggy Fearn.

  • I have been a fan since 1969 LOL (I am old..53). Russell is a true muscian, singer and songwriter...and I am off to see him live along with Brian Cadd in Launceston in a few weeks! I first saw him live in 1975...he is fantastic and has gotten better with age and time!!!

  • So am I - 53 that is...listening to Russell Morris and Brian Cadd puts me back 40 years and makes you thankful for such great Aussie rockers. Life passes too fast, 40 years on. Not in high school anymore!

  • Oh I am forever listening to great music by legendary Aussie rockers and most music from the 70's by any band...keeps me feeling young it does :-). Yeah you are right about the last 40 years going way too fast..were in the heck did it go? BTW..Russell and Brian have only gotten better with age if you ask me..they sang and performed brilliantly!!!

  • Thanks for the revue, there barnLes. Now I won't think twice about educating a few of my young mates about truly great musos. Cheers.
