What did the P do wrong? He seemed to expo pretty fast and was quick in reacting to harass. He even had Archons, Blink Stalkers (+Guardian Shield) and Cannons to counter the mutas. He also moved out as soon as he got maxed and yet, it was still fairly one-sided. I'm not saying you didn't play well. I just don't see what the P could really do... he seemed to play great too.

Psy, that map is terrible for zerg IMO; short rush distances; it's easy to block your ramp with pylons or bunkers and you can't do the drone stacking trick to get out. This map seems to be based on Kerrigan's revenge (I think) which was also a terrible map and now they've added rocks to block your third.

What i've seen zerg players do lately (god i sound HD when saying that, but this i think is actually true!), is just move away from the: "My force vs your force, 200 food zerg army that comes from all sides aaaaaaaaaaaand, dies to tanks, collosi, storms, marines whatever. But now instead using two kind of tactics. Harass till enemy stresses out and 1A's, or tricking him. Ultras were so good in that batttle because he was just 1Ai'ng with territory to help him, the ultras trap him and, BOOM GGG

As I've said before, Ultras are great against Stalkers. The propensity for Stalkers to get clumped up, coupled with their armoured status means +1 Ultras are dealing nearly 40 damage per swipe and splashing that damage around. Well Stalkers have a robust 160 total health, but Ultras have the perfect attack to take them out so within about 5 seconds you've got a lot of dead Stalkers.

@wooplah that's because the toss chose a robo-opener while Z made muta, and the only way he could defend was with quick blinktech because he had the TC. It's perfectly logical this encourages a passive kind of play, being pinned back and all. But stargate openings are a lot more dynamic and give you mapcontrol so don't whine, stop being shortsighted before you cry about balance.

Zerg units aren't worse because they're cheaper--they're worse because Zerg is supposed to have map control (as their units are faster) and have a better economy (as they can build more drones at once), allowing them to survive with "worse" units.
