i love the sound of the guitars in this new album.. does anybody know the gear of this guitarrists?? i mean the pickups models, amps, distortions, i see the guitar is a dean dimebag model, but 7-string...

Yeah. They use those guitars. Per also uses Ibanez 7 string guitars. Jonas uses Shecter, Jackson, and Ibanez that I've seen. They used Ibanez 8 string guitars on Three-Dimensional Shadow. They just started using Randall amps. They used ENGL on the first two albums. I'm not sure about the pickups, though. Hope that helps. Horns up!

Actually they tuned down 7 string guitars to F#, they didnt use 8 strings.

I talk to Per and Henrik online all the time. Per told me personally that they used the Ibanez RG228 8 string guitars on that song.

No need to apologize. I know about the guitars, but I know that Kenneth sometimes doesn't even play a five string bass to match the seven string guitars. He tunes it down to what they are at. And for that song, HE could very well have tuned his five string down. So we are probably both right, dude! Ha ha.

I also read in a interview that they combine both writing styles of the guitarists, and that they put a lot of prog, 80's heavy metal and death metal influences in their music. So it's not typical melodeath

LOL! F**king great band. The new album is the dog's nuts, so great and really forces the "melo" in melo-death, especially the track "Deus Ex Machina". Some might not quite like the slight change in direction though.
