Obama talked about transparency and real democracy. If that was the case he would have given a real answer. He could have justified saying "no way" or he could have tried to open the door to a discussion on pros and cons.

But the fact that he blew it off (while not surprising because he has taken on other polarizing issues already) is a slap in the face to a legitimate economic solution put forth by Americans.

Fiscal conservatives and small government conservatives should be in favor too.

The polls were NOT hijacked. There were legitimate concerns and questions.

Most of the questions regarding marijuana were about economics and safety. Regulate it, make it safe, cut out the drug dealers and crime, and taxing it for billions of dollars.

Not necessarily the most pressing issue, but it WAS an economic issue and a feasible economic plan. Do they think that nobody else tried to get certain questions up?

The fact that there was no serious answer was a clear step back for Obama.

There are a lot of potential advantages to legalization, but all you crybabies should stop whining about how the President responded. It is still the case that *most* people have not tried pot, *most* people are not in favor of legalization, and as long as that remains the case, no President will support it.

It is quite disappointing that Pres. Obama didn't spend more time on the issue of marijuana legalization. They even presented in a way that makes the issue sound silly. I think this was a bad move on the part of the people in charge.
