I watched this movie as a kid because I relate alot to it and i've cried alot. My sister is Autistic. Seeing what those guys did to her brother and the way she reacted...I swear I would have done the same thing. We're not twins, I'm older, but I see this happen to different kids with different needs and I want to punch every person that is mean. I'm going to become a Special Ed Teacher. Not because i take pity but because I've learned to love them for all their strengths not their "Disability"

Unfortunately there are people out there like the boys who spit in a hat & gave it to Eddie. I used to vounteer at a camp for special needs children, & there were 2 brothers who liked to trip, throw things, & hit a mentally challenged boy because they thought it was funny. Another time a girl made fun of a girl with Downs so badly that the girl cried. And the parents did nothing! The poor girl was crying that she didn't ask to be born this way & the parents merely said, "Kids will be kids"

wow. i totally get this movie. i identified with it so much when i was 9 and still do eight years later. i feel like its me in the movie...my moms like that so is my dad, and my brother is autistic. we're not twins but close enough in age-17 months. everything she felt, ive been there. and she may seem moody, but being in that situation and having no outlet or no one to express how ur feeling, its really the only way get all ur emotions out. for anyone else who been there i know what its like.
