I always seize up when the one gal says, "It's so, you know, sunny!" in a haughty brit accent and embellishes it with a swirly flourish of her skirt, right before the carnage starts. Not sure why it cracks me up so bad but it does.
@Tennisers Definitely the Genesis of Happy Tree Friends, especially because both these characters and the HTF meet their makers from horrible accidents, rather than acts of actual malice. AND STOP SNIFFING!!!
@TheBiomorph493= You're not the only one who thinks that. They should put what followed this sketch up. They put up a disclaimer which is supposed to be an apology from the BBC. It mentions that the Pythons all come from broken homes, and have unhappy personal lives, especially Eric. That completes Salad Days. Too bad I don't have it. I would put it up myself.
The BBC would like to apologize to everyone in the world for that last item. It was disgusting and bad and thoroughly disobedient and please don't bother to phone up because we know it was very tasteless, but they didn't mean it and they all come from broken homes and have very unhappy personal lives, especially Eric. Really they're good people underneath and very warm in the traditional show business way and please don't write in either because the BBC is going through an unhappy phase at the m
Philip Jenkinson, he used to do a series called Film Night in the 1970s. He can also be glimpsed in Morecambe and Wise's 'There Is Nothing Like A Dame' number and did a cameo in Eric Idle's 1975 series Rutland Weekend Television.
Jenkinson was a bit fatter but yes, it is accurate. Years ago, I saw a clip of Eric Idle and Barry Norman sitting side by side saying their lines in perfect unison, love to know what that was from!
I've seen that clip on here! It was from Film... 70 something, I believe. Don't know why Idle was on there, though. I guess he was plugging a film he was in.
Just a dig at pretentious critic-speak. Probably also a swipe at the way Peckinpah, in Straw Dogs, made (in the words of George Melly) "the cock interchangeable with the gun". In other words, the thugs raped Susan George, so Dustin Hoffman shot the thugs. Or am I reading too much into this?
Anyone for tennis?

Philip Jenkinson getting gunnned down in slow motion from several angles definitely feels like Peckinpah.
