  • nice work giving an r6 to a learner, how will you feel when she comes off that thing and kills herself. douche bag!

  • @D0g3Styl3

    Douche bag???

I'll let R other vids speak for me =)

    Speed safe brotha biker

  • damn bikes look so sleek on the roads, overtaking everyone at traffic lights :D im definitly getting one before a car!!!

  • @CurdsAndWheyLol

Very cool. Just make sure if you are learning that you take your time and work your way up to it at a pace that is rite for you. Good luck =)

    Speed safe

  • which was your(not lady's) first bike, and what's your height???.. nice video and always ride safe man...

  • @mitc94

I had a ZX-6 back in the day for about 6 or 7 months. Just rode it to and from work once in awhile. Wasn't that into it back then.

So really, in my mind, the R1 is my real first bike =)

    I am 5'8"

Thank you. If you can....check out her new riding vids. She has progressed quite a bit.

    Take care.

  • @Shogun09R1 nice.. r1 is one of my two favorite bikes.. and i was wondering if someone can buy as his first bike the R1... i am 18 years old now and i was thinking, in the near future, when i'll take my licence to buy an actually powerfull bike... but i think i'll crash with so much power despite my experience on the two bikes that i was barely used to drive.. (my father's aprillia rx 50 and a yamaha xt 600!).. i could drive them easily bcz of my height(6.3) :).. i wish to enjoy your beast !!!!

  • good work lady L, keep practicing, stay confident and have fun but above all ride safe.

  • @gibbon138

If she where here she would thank you :)

I'll make sure she sees your comment when she returns.

Thanks for the good advice. Take care =)

  • Is the R6 a good bike to start of with? i'm considering to buy one but i'm a beginner and don't know much of bikes.. Is this one a good bike to start with?

  • @politoale

IMO, the bike you choose is not the issue...it is more about the responsibility of the person learning. For her the R6 was perfect as a beginner bike. But that may not be true for everyone. be cautious in your choice of bike and take your time learning. Good luck :)

  • @Shogun09R1 the last logical person left on youtube, nicely put.

  • how tall is she? im 5'4" can i ride an r6?

  • @achmadhendra

She is 5'4-1/2. If she can do it you should be able too :)

  • @Shogun09R1 you can always get it lowered.

  • good vid that how does the licence work in the states, in the uk to ride an r6, we had to take 3 riding exams (first one on a 125cc then 2 on 500cc) you also have to do 2 written exams!! its hard work, i got my final test monday aug 15th, then start saving for my very own r6,

    ride safe guys...

  • @mattyaztec

Here they let you ride any size bike if you pass the M1 license exam and riding test.

Thank you and safe riding to you also :)

  • You ride great for first time im no one to tell u all this but ....... careful with ur indicators we dont want you hurt u ride.....just outa good faith

  • @TheDna719

Thank you for the advice....greatly appreciated :)

  • I taught a woman(Anangel13) here on youtube to ride my small bike as well. ;O) She has since ridden my Superbike RVT 1000 RC51, and is now looking to buy her own bike.

    Katalyzt

  • @Katalyzt

Cool...always good to support other riders. Especially the new ones that need the most support/guidance. Bravo to you for that.

Thanks for sharing the link. I liked the vid.

    Cheers!

  • You don't have to take regular driving lessons for a motorcycle at a driving-school in the USA? So when you think you're ready you just take a test to obtain the official driving-license?!

  • @coleraby

No sir. As long as you can pass the written and skills test at your Department of Motor Vehicles, you are good. That is good and bad at the same time. I know you didn't ask, but...........any new rider should consider taking a safety course or take it reall easy and let the skills develop slowly. Just my two cents.

Take care and thanks for commenting.

  • @Shogun09R1 wow and I was just convinced that starting on a ninja 250 would be better.... I mean I have taken the msf safety class and I have ridden dirt bikes a few times, but if this is her first time riding it makes me wonder if I really could start on a 600 and not have too much of a problem...

  • @Cookies205

IMO...the size or type of bike one should start/learn on really depends on the person. Someone who is mature and has self control can start on a bigger bike than someone who is immature and has no self control. But keep in mind the heavier and/or more powerful the bike the greater the potential challenge. Lot's more to it than that...but that's the short of it.

    Good luck and safe riding.

  • @Shogun09R1 OMG!!! in Croatia(Europe) i payed my drivin licence cca 1000$, im 16 and the drivin licence is only for 125ccm bikes :( .And it took 2months to get it.

  • She is an actual natural!

  • @XBGM3R

Yeah....she picked it up so easy. She just continues to get better :)

  • Lady L has come along way!

  • @supersayin1

Yes she has. She has the heart of a true rider.

    Girl Power!!!

  • @Shogun09R1 AWESOME!! Mad Respect!

  • that vid is great its hard to belive that thats lady l look at her now she,s a awasome rider now

  • @kd4ysi

Thanks. She has really come along way from the day we bought it. She had never riden a motor bike before. This is her first bike and so far no crash, just a few drops.

  • great video. Did she start out on an R6 or 600? If so you're a good coach , she rides really well and safe.

  • @2nothaveapurpose thanks.....this is actually her first bike and she had never riden before. I dunno if I am so much a good coach, I think she is just a great student. She seems to have a natural ability to ride.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Wow, Lyn! You started on an R6! I would have loved to start on a bigger bike, but I'm 5'3" and can't touch ground on anything with a seat height above 30 inches. I can just touch toe on my Ninja 250! I tried riding my husbands Kawi ER6N and ended up dropping it when I came to a stop. It was too heavy and tall for me. Luckily he had frame sliders :S I'm hoping riding my 250 will get me used to sport bikes enough to move up to a bigger bike and lower it with a dog-bone.

  • @theNLridersWife Hey there! This is Lyn. Thanks for the comments! I am only 5'4" and can only toe touch too on my R6. Luckily I do not stay stopped for too long, I have layed down my bike 3 times, basically at a stop. Love frame sliders! I have been riding just over a year now and just feel so bad ass when I am riding. Love to see other girl riders too since there doesn't seem to be many out there. I am not on youtube very often myself, do you have vids of you riding??? Take care!

  • @Shogun09R1 Good to know, gives me hope in riding a bigger bike some day :). Ya, I have 4 vids on my channel of me riding. Weather was crappy, scenery unimpressive because I was just desperate to get out for a ride on my new ninja 250. My husband NLRider (hence my name) has his own channel as well where I make a few appearances. We're going to Hawaii in march and renting bikes there. Should get some awesome vids then! Thanks for the sub, btw!

  • Oh YEah definately get a power commander or you're running too lean with the exhaust . You could burn a valve . I have a Techclusion on mine which is a cheapy power commander but it works. When I first put my Yosh system on without the techlusion the front header was running bright red in daylight .

  • @pencon61 seriously...damn...that seals the deal, getting a Power Commander a.s.a.p. Thanks for the info.

  • I'm running open Yosh full System and an airbox mod so the bike thumps deep and really roars .Suspension work front and rear , right height adjuster tec. More fun than a Duc Imho My 97 TL on the same Dyno day beat 2 RC51's they were each dynoed one after the other within minutes. When I told the one guy my bike was 10 years older his jaw dropped .

  • @pencon61 sweet...sounds like you got your TL dialed in. Post a walk around so we can see that bad mofo.

Haven't really done much to mine on the performance side. Just a 3/4 M4 exhaust, Michilin Power Pure's and K&N air filter. Seem to have the stock suspension dialed in ok. No problems with oscilation or front end chatter. Had a couple of speed wobbles before the adjustments. Mostly cosmetic mods. Being told I need to get a Power Commander, not sure though. Bike seems to do ok as is.

  • Shogun I'm no Newbie I've been riding since 1982 on the street and off road since 1978. I guess my point was that a new rider can really get themselves in trouble with an R6 or any new 600 since they are pretty much race bikes with a plate .I've had many Bikes including the 85 Gsxr 750 , Zx7 Harley . And ridden an R1, R6 , Several Ducatis 1098 , 1198. My current Bike is a Suzuki 97 TL1000s . Yes I know your R1 is way faster but I just love the Vtwins , sound is half the fun .

  • @pencon61 Dude....never said you where a noob...what I should have said was "if an SV650 was a good starter bike for you".....my bad for not being clearer.

I'm not gonna "date" myself by telling you how long I've been riding, LOL!!!

I dig what your saying about the way a bike "sounds"....I have nothing against the way most bikes sound...but I do get off on how my bike sounds slightly different from the crowd.

Thanks for the short discussion, it was refreshing. Ride safe.

  • Yes there is , it's called an SV650 twin. It doesn't have the hyper power characteristics of the R6 and is perfectly suited for beginner riders. Lets face it , you got the R6 for you .

  • @pencon61 hahaha...your funny dude. What part of "IMO" did you not understand? "IMO", each person has different needs and wants, what is good for one person may not be good for another. If an SV650 is a good starter bike for you, then Bravo!!! But anything less than an R6 or other 600cc sportbike would have bored her to death in a months time. As far as me getting it for me...yeah bro!...you got me, I'm going to choose to ride her R6 over my '09 R1.

Take care and have a nice day : )

  • R6 is anything BUT a starter bike . Hope you had her take a safe rider course at least.

  • @pencon61 sure didn't. IMO, no such thing as a starter bike. I guess I should have started her out on a scooter? Too much to explain...read some of the other comments and maybe you'll understand, if you don't, you never will.

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Ugh. first time riding a motorcycle and its a 600cc sport bike...? askin for trouble

Best of luck to her otherwise. be safe and know that bike is a LOT faster than you might think.

    BTW i have a 09 orange/black R6 >p

  • @slb785 Well, all I can say is she loves her R6 and is really getting the hang of it. I am impressed by her ability to learn.

Thanks for the luck, never hurts to have it.

Orange/black...that's what I wanted her to get...but she wanted the red/white one. Stay safe and thanks again for watching and commenting.

  • How tall is your wife? Can she touch the ground? I'm 5'10 and I can only put half of my foot on the ground

  • @Btownsoccer22 she is 5'5...she touches the ground with her toes. It is a tall bike...I am probably going to lower the fork drop by an 1/8 to 1/4 inch soon. Does not sound like much but it beats nailing a block of wood to her shoes ; )

Try a gel seat...that will help a little...plus will be more comfortable. That and adjusting the fork drop alittle should help. Not too much or you'll loose clearance an effect your center of gravity.

Take care, thanks for watching and commenting.

  • dang i want that color so bad! your wife is lucky >_> haha i have the 08 black n yellow w/o flames...just got mjs gen 1 headers...with my M4 gp slip on...just came back from a palmdale right...my ears still ringing >_<

  • @briand8806 that was her favorite color.....had a hard time finding it locally in that color when we where shopping for her bike. Long funny story on how she ended up with this one. Your bike sounds cool...gonna check it out. Take care and stay safe. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • is an r6 a good starter bike? im 6'0 170 pounds just looking for the best bike to start on

  • @ChevyMan9223 all depends on the "starter". In our experience it is. Our mentality was, if she learns on a 250, in a few months she will be looking to upgrade. So my evil plan was to get the R6, she picked the color. If she didn't get into it I would have a spare bike.....muhahaha!!! Either way was a win win for me. She turned out to be a natural and an adreniline junkie. I recommend you do alot of research before comminting to a bike. Check out some of my other vids, that might help. Good luck.

  • Kudos =P we all love women riders!

  • @fireguy777 You got that rite. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • girls on bikes...1 million stars hahahaha

  • Good job! Let's ride sometime guys. That is, if u wanna ride with Filipino folks. Hehehehehehe

  • rheaMDC21...sounds good. I'll let you know when we will be in your area, that is, if you wanna ride with non-Filipino folks....LOL!!! : )

  • Shogun09R1 ----- Hahahahahaha! That works out fine with me. Sure! let me know.
