  • i love you! thanks so much! this just helped so much!

  • @SupplyBeauti

    I love you to !

  • @TemporalParadox1 HHAHAHAA lol! Need more people like you in this world!

  • Thanks that helps alot

  • Thanks a lot. This really helped me out.

  • @iCEMANnoob

    Cool :)

  • ahh easy thankyou !! :)

  • @Jemmyxox

    :)

  • @TemporalParadox1 i have a question ... when i do green screen it goes all see though how do you stop this ??

  • @Jemmyxox

I haven't made any tutorials showing how to do green screen yet.

Better to show than try and explain with words.

If you do a YT search, you should find a tutorial somewhere.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Just a question. At the start of your video how do you make a mini intro sequence?

  • @austintimalex

That's not something I can answer quickly.

When I start making tutorials again very, very soon - I will make a video about the Intro I use now.

  • thanks for the video, can I just ask, does platinum 11 do masking effects?

  • @Andyfilms100

    Cheers :)

You can only do masking in Vegas Pro.

  • Thanks very much...

  • @TWCobra

    Cheers :)

  • How do you make a split screen from top to bottom?

  • @DDiddyDotMPEG

Just follow the exact same method but move the horizontal edges instead of the vertical.

Just be very careful with the icon settings (they have to be just right) and the X & Y locks.

  • Dex, Thanks for the excellent split-screen demo. I would never have thought of using the crop tools for that and it opens up a lot of new options.

Do you know of a better way to do noise reduction in Vegas 11? I have found the noise gate but this sounds awful with speech. Is there a spectrum subtraction tool?

  • @Splitsquid

Removing Noise using any program successfully is a very difficult task.

Vegas can only do basic stuff.

The only programs that do a good job, cost a decent amount of money.

First company I think of is Izotope - TV shows like American Idol use their software.

NewBlueFx does make a Noise reduction tool also.

The only Sony product that could do a decent job is Sony Sound Forge Pro 10.

Best rule is too record clean audio in the first place.

  • @TemporalParadox1

Thanks. I found NCH Wavepad 5.08 has specral subtraction which works quite well.

  • Excellent....thanks man

  • @Rx5000

    :)

  • FACEPALM!!! you make it seem so easy!

  • How do i split screen live videos? like 1 looking at me the other at the tv?

  • thanks for the help

  • This kind of helped me. I need to have both of the videos in their original size side by side. Is this possible? If it is could someone please tell or show me how?

  • @CanFly2798

I have made a video for this.

Remember to have annotations turned ON when viewing my videos, because I always link related videos - there is a link to what you want already here.

Type "side" into the search box on my channel to find tute.

  • How to Split video if you want to some stuff of it?

  • Your voice is stupidly calming.

  • @MacellaioNero He makes me feel like I can learn anything.

  • love the intro!

  • @mnb3434

    :)

  • how do you get it on the corner of the video?

  • I had no idea you could do that! This is amazing. I do have one question: I've seen in videos sometimes that people do a split screen and one side pauses while the other plays, then that side pauses and the other resumes, if that makes sense. Also, I've seen people have four different clips in one screen...is there a way to do either of those things on Vegas Movie Studio? (I have Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10, if that makes a difference.) Thanks!

  • @ZoeMcLane521

If you want more screens, just add more video layers and repeat the process.

Sorry I can't help you with the rest - that's up to you to work out through our own time and patience. I have given lots of information for free on this channel - that's the best I can do with the time I have.

    All the best.

  • thx man, this helps alot :)

  • I've done everything you said, but instead of resizing it, it just crops it, help please!?!?!?

  • @Gameplayday

You will have to "very carefully" look at ALL the settings I chose in the pop out windows.

If you have just one icon on the left set incorrectly, you will get problems.

Be careful with the Padlock setting below as well - this often trips people up and they start creating keyframes by accident.

  • How do you get on side to slide in?

  • @partygirl385

If you want to animate a video, you have to create keyframes.

If you don't know what a keyframe is, then search "keyframes" in the search box on my channel.

  • does anyone know if you can do that on the non-platinum version? thanks!

  • @bladzerok

    I am really not sure.

You can always download the free 30 day trial from Sony Creative Software.

However, I strongly advise that spending the extra money and getting the full Production Suite version is well worth it.

  • What if I want to have two videos showing at once, but not cropping out anything?

  • @SebiStudios2

You must have annotations turned OFF, because I had links to different videos on this upload, which would answer your question. I use links a lot on my channel.

Type "side" into the search box on my channel and you will find another video to watch.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Actually, I was watching this on my iPod, which doesn't use annotations. :(

  • @SebiStudios2

Do you need a microscope to view it on an Ipod ?

I'm not trying to be a smart arse.

I didn't know that anyone would be able to make sense of anything that small.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Ipod Touch, actually.

  • @SebiStudios2

    Cool :)

  • great video! thanks, and by any chance, do you think you can answer this question? I bearly got this program, and when i try to play the video preview, it will not play. The program does not freeze though. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • @ObeySteven

I have made videos talking about Video Preview settings - look it up.

What type of video did you import into Vegas? 1080p HD? wmv, mp4, AVCHD,....?

How old is your computer? What type of CPU are you using?

Without knowing exactly what your situation is, I am just guessing.

  • this was SOOO helpful. I got this video editor for christmas and I am was so confused on how to do a split screen! thanks!

  • Same here!

  • Really great tutorials! but I recently got the new platinum Hd 11 version and I have noticed a few differences between them but they are not a big deal. And I was wondering, how do you split a video clip in certain places maybe to cut out a section or something?

  • @billybiskitboy

    Press "S" for split.

  • i'm gonna get this now thanks to the tutorial. it's pretty cheap as far as good editing software goes! thanks!

  • creat tutorial! :D

  • @PeaceOfCakeCOPAIN

    Thank you :)

  • thx man! great tutorial

  • @Fa1led

    Your welcome :)

  • Question, what if I wanted on screen to fade in or fade out... and is it possible to add more than one split screen? Thanks! I'm trying to find the best editing software that can do all I want it to do.

  • @LiVeLiKeURdying2

#You can add up to 10 Video Tracks and 10 Audio Tracks.

#Yes you can fade Videos IN and OUT.

Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite is the best value Video Editing Suite on the market for what it can do.

  • thank you for sharing. :)

  • @evlynbluey

    :)

  • can i put 2 videos on each other like , fish on the man but i want to see the man and the fish at same time, like 1 video is transparent but i can still see it ?

  • @TheWildBubble

#1 Put one video on the Video Layer.

Put 2nd video on the Video Overlay Layer.

Place your Mouse Pointer on the top edge of the Video Overlay Layer, Hold Down Left Mouse Button and drag blue line down to make video transparent.

    OR USE DIFFERENT METHOD:

#2 In the Description Box for Video Overlay Layer, press Green Icon with "Alpha-Fish" symbol and select Multiply Mask, to blend videos.

  • This is exactly what I needed THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

  • @Quabog

    Your welcome :)

  • how do you crop two videos side by side

  • @lucmitchify

I made a video about this already.

I did have it linked to this video, but you must have annotations turned off.

Type "side" into the Search Box on my channel to find video.

  • @TemporalParadox1 thanks

  • @TemporalParadox1

Thanks so much for all the Sony Vegas Videos.

  • @roll2996

    Your welcome :)

  • How do you like make it fade out black style? :9

  • @franniest03

Put the mouse pointer onto the top corner of your video on the timeline until the "quarter circle" appears - now hold the button down and drag.

  • Great, man. Thanks a lot.

  • @YziBeibi

    :)

  • Nice tutorial.

    I'm subscribed. :)

  • @TT01RCDrift

    Thanks :)

  • Is it possible on Vegas plat 10 to Split the screen Diagonally like From corner to corner? Please reply

  • @RRIRabbo

I can't remember how to do a true diagonal at the moment - driving me crazy.

    However,

#1 Using the Cookie Cutter Tool (Video Fx tab)

Place Triangle or Diamond preset on top video - turn Border down to Zero to remove border - Increase the size of shape - Then move the Positioning Tool to get diagonal in the middle.

#2 Alternate method if you have this bonus plug-in (only in some versions of VMS)

Video Fx tab - NewBlue V3 Split Screen MSPS - Diagonal preset.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thank you very much I appreciate your videos

  • Can you do a tutorial on how to use twixtor in sony vegas 10 ?

  • @NORMANI7

Unfortunately I don't own Twixtor, so I can't make any tutorials on it.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Is there way to create black line to separate clips?

  • @5Location5

Here is one way to do it.

Go to Media Generators tab - choose Solid Color - Black.

Drag this onto a layer ABOVE everything else on the timeline (example=Text Layer).

Drag out Solid Color for length of clip.

    Hit Event Pan/Crop inside layer.

Look at left hand column - Turn OFF "Lock Aspect Ratio" AND "Size About Centre"

Now just drag the window in from each side to create your Black Line.

    Done.

  • is it possible to have the track motion different for different clips?

  • @55gingerninja

The Track Motion tool when used affects the entire track.

There are two ways to deal with this.

#1 Use 'Keyframes" to change the position of your Track Motion over time.

#2 Right click on a Video Track and you can create Extra Video Tracks - so you can then set different Track Motions for different tracks.

  • whats the difference between vegas movie studio hd platinum 11 and vegas movie studio hd platinum 11 production suite?i want to know which one to get.

  • @ErnC05

I always recommend the Production Suite version.

It comes with 3 programs - Movie Studio, DVD Architect and Sound Forge Audio Studio.

Sound Forge is a recording studio and audio editing program - very handy.

You also get bonus Video Fx and Transitions plugins from NewBlue for Vegas which are definitely worth getting. V11 now comes with a 3D Text Generator from NewBlue as well.

  • THANK YOU! it was not changing that setting to 'no' that made me unable to do split screen so thanks!

  • would there be a way to shrink both the fish video and the video of you so that you could see the full image of the videos at the same time while in the split screen effect?

  • @SavagesInMyTown

Type "side" into the search box on my channel to find tutorial that answers your question.

  • Mate, I'm not sure if you already have some products out, but you REALLY need to consider packaging all this and selling it as a guide for newbies like me who struggle trying to collate the info from all over the place. Especially right now there are no Platinum HD 11 DVDs out yes far as I know.

Your explanations are clear, you have a good speaking voice, and I can follow your directions easily without having to make too many leaps. Good job bro!

  • @Bonecrusher27WTF

    Thank you :)

  • i did what you said,to uncheack the thing...but now when i save my project,it doesnt open, and i set it back to normal, but it doesnt let me view it no more:/

  • @ortp100

The best way to Open a saved project is this way:

Go to top toolbar - Project - Open - Documents folder - Vegas Movie Studio Projects

Don't make the mistake of accidently trying to Open a "rendered video" instead of the .vf file

  • This was SO helpful. Some tutorials, they move too fast & i get all confused, but this one was perfect! Awesome job & thank you so muchhhh!!

  • @brittneylittrell

    Your welcome :)

  • Great channel dude!

  • @sergioandkristy

    Thank you :)

  • Hey i have a question, do you have a video that shows how to edit videos to make them full screen, like if i download a picture and i wanted to make that full screen so when i upload them on youtube there is no black sides

  • @GusfreshV2

That theme comes up in a lot of tutorials.

Here are some to look at:

*How to Create a Manual Slideshow

*How to Zoom In & Out with Event Pan/Crop

and for trouble shooting very tricky stuff watch

*How to Make Gameplay Videos Fullscreen

  • by any chance, do you know to make a video overlay? i have seen several videos that have video overlays .

  • @KimLuvsToSmile

What do you mean by video overlay exactly ?

Did you watch the Picture in Picture video that was linked at the end ?

If you put one video on Video layer and one on the Video Overlay layer, you can make them "see-through" by placing mouse pointer on top edge of video - holding down button and dragging blue line down.

  • do you know how to make vegas render faster? please reply

  • @GusfreshV2

You don't have to say please reply - I reply to all messages.

Rendering speeds are determined by your computers CPU and/or Graphics Card.

The fastest codec to render to is Sony AVC.

Watch my rendering tutorials and you will find out about this - I just made a new set of videos for Version 11 rendering. I am also working on some new tutorials that will give you some extra tips - especially if you are using a laptop. Next couple of days.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Ok thanks

  • Good to know :)

  • is there a way to delete unwanted files on sony vegas, like you know when it starts up.. and you click project, and the video file is at the very bottem, can i delete it so i can have more memory, and anyways its not an important file

  • @ortp100

Options - Preferences - UnCHECK open last project

  • Looks like your playback is very smooth even with two videos at 1920x1080! Congrats. I am still editing with my eyes closed! LOL.

  • @thedelawareagenda

Intel i7-2600k CPU running at 4.5GHz seriously speeds a computer up.

I have a very important tutorial coming soon which will give a working solution to Preview Screen Epilepsy.

  • Can you split the video equally diagonal as well

  • @SujkHeart

Yes you can - basically you zoom out & spin the Event Pan/Crop window.

You should be able to work it out with what I have just said.

I am not going to try and explain any further than that, because it is too involved to write it down here.

  • Very nice tutorial. I'd recommend this to anyone learning to use Sony Vegas.

  • @RobochaoXX

    Thanks :)

  • I need you expertise on something and I hope you can help. I have a film review vlog and I have been trying repeatedly to record my interviews with filmmakers on video through Skype. I had the idea that I could use a screen record program to do that, so I've been using CamStudio and it has not been fully compressing my videos. Leaving me with audio but no video. Can you help? Please tell me what's a good screen recording device that will work for interviews up to an hour or anything else. Help??

  • @leztuesday

I have made a tutorial on the screen recorder I use "My Screen Recorder" basic edition - it is well worth spending the money on it - I guarantee you. Type "screen" into the search box on my channel.

I have tried them all, and this one is light years better than the rest because it captures video perfectly and saves it to Windows Media Video, which creates a very small file.

You can download a free trial.

Send me a message if you need help with settings.

  • @skeemaskjoe

If you mean pressing "Make Movie" - I treat that button the same as the "Asian Bird Flu" virus - don't go there!

  • @VegetarianFound

Thank you, right back at you :)

  • thanks soooo much! you don't know how helpful your videos are! keep making them! :)

  • @KimLuvsToSmile

    Thank you :)

  • Two person or a person and place in different clips can meet togather! This technique will help a story making.Thank you :)

  • @hoppingbambi

    Thank you :)

  • Thanks dex

Im going to use this as a transition

But do you reckon you could make a tutorial on how to put a border line seperating the clips apart?

  • @5AVAGEBMX

    Thanks man :)

Do you mean a "line just down the centre", or a "complete border around the whole screen & down the centra line"?

  • @TemporalParadox1 my bad Just a line down the centre
