SFIII: 3rd Strike - Hugo [Y-Da] vs Necro [Sugiyama]

I don't understand why poeple just let Sugiyama do whatever he wants. Most of the match he's just walking forwards, at close range, and they do nothing. If I try that against ANYONE I get hit the moment I walk forward, because poeple press buttons, and don't just sit there.

I'm not knocking Sugi, he's a god, but I don't understand why other players give him so much leeway to do whatever the hell he likes.

I'm terrible at this game, so can a better player explain this to me?

@syggyballs it seems like sugiyama is good at parrying into a big punish. half the time he's trying to bait out a low or something and noticed a few times when Y-da tried to throw out a poke he got smashed for it. Note the end of the second round
