Closely listen to an Inception dvd made prior to the January the 8th Tucson shooting, especially around the dialogue, "Do It." Check my quotes for more information.
all i know is i had a fuckin top time in the early/mid 90's, wish i was back there sometimes....we will never see the like again :-(, but hey u know what.... i was there! HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE.
lol this was what it was all about, this was what we were born to do!! im 33 now and my 9 and 10 year old girls luv watchin these vids I would luv 2 take um 2 a fantazia (obviously when there ready for it!) but like mummy, they were born ready, I alrady taught them the moves! I told them its against the rules to stand still @ a rave, which come on old skool crew, its an un-written rule right! BIG BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE OLD SKOOL CREW STILL OUT THERE & STILL ROCKING 2 DA MAX!! <3
Rave was just a term for something that was already happening. Before that, if it wasn't at a club then it was just a party.
P.S. I believe we, the USA, were the originators of acid house. You know, the music that your raves started with... and sometimes still play. And, oh yeah, we took the lead over 60 years ago ;) Think Jazz, hip-hop, rock, etc. Who leads who?
Haha... Why did you cherry-pick jazz of all the four styles I mentioned? I have a feeling you're just a kid who doesn't know any better than to get himself into that argument. You could look up information on American raves before you assume im wrong. And don't get me started on who leads who... Instead, I'll just say cheers kid. Glad your mom & dad got you into old techno videos.
@raisin212k Bru you got your hiphop (which I love) and you guys created the first house tunes .... so fair play.
Bet when it comes to proper undergound dance music you cant hold a candle to us Europeans... WE lead the way. And I think the Brits are arguably the most innovative of the Europeans in that respect. We create the best new dance music genres/scenes.
Hah... cant hold a candle? that's harsh... but to be the reciprocal of fairness, I haven't been too impressed over the last ten years myself, and I'm impressed enough with the European contributions. Our heyday of underground came and went. During that time, quite a candle was held in the US to compare with. But our society changes faster than yours, and dictates many of the changes in yours. As we lost our much of our "underground", corporations took over. You're next. Bummer, 2.
@raisin212k I disagree. I think it has more to do with the fact that in the US hiphop has always shadowed dance music as the more popular genre, whereas dance music has always been number one in Europe... where it has evolved from 'house' into all the sub-genres we see today... and will keep on evolving as the younger generations create new styles.
US Hiphop stagnated into shitty commercial crap because of the over- popularity of a single genre...so now there is a sick underground hiphop scene.
You're not wrong. BUT, consider: By the time the new underground scene was hitting us, hip hop had already been exposed to exploitive corporate elements... many rappers recorded their complaints on vinyl. So many were ready to embrace everything about this new underground dance music, and they did at first. Guess who noticed the vacuum that created? As one article put it: " You know your scene is dead when you have BF Goodrich on your glowsticks". Suddenly we had new laws.
@1878EFC2008 Maybe "raves" didnt start in the UK but they didnt really "start" any where people have been wanting 2 party since the dawn of time so nobody can claim to have started them anywhere at anytime. What we do hav the claim to is that Jungle and all the DNB that spawned out of it is from the UK and yea it did come out of acid house as the other guy says which is spawned of other types of music with upped tempos and basslines, wheras jungle has more of a hip hop influence.
@legaliseme in conclusion all types of music are spawned out of predecessors, and so on so all that we do know for sure is that music was made by humans for all of humanity to enjoy (fuck the pop charts too they are the real killers of music)
The unit! Glasgow. Underground , Saundhaus-Glasgow. Walked into what I thought was not gona be a good nite( DiskoX). Walked into a fuckin Gabba mess, banging, wall to wall bass. My gay pal was surprisingly unphased and we sat in thde coridor n gubbed pils not able to move till the end o the nite whhere i talke to my friends flatmate intensvly about MY WEE LAMP for too long n got major giggles when i realised what shit i was talkin. Acid techno all the way!
nobody does raves like this anymore, bunch of burn outs. they forgot it was about the nonstop dancing, feel good vibes everybody doing their thing one tribe on one vibe. didn't need no pills to feel the bassline
Help, I'm looking for a song around the early 1990's and I'm sure it was done by Fantazia ? The words go like " I Scream you Scream we all Scream for Ice cream" Can anybody remember who made it ?
TIMEMACHINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND DREAM WITH MEEEEEEEEE DUDUDDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUUUDUUDUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please. anyone know what mix the second song is? I keep looking up 'gonna be alright' by nookie but it doesn't have that 'gonna be-gonna be-gonna be alriggghtttt' sample, just the same piano.
OLD SKOOL RAVERS! I need your help! Gimme a message if you can recommend any good old skool Rave tunes! I need some old skool vinyls in my collection! Thanks
@Ciaran55 ave a little look in my oldscool playlist - i only started putting it together couple of dayds ago-but just some reminisin spine tingle tracks for me anyway lol
@Ciaran55 theres so many mate, where do you start! Also what years you talking about? 88/89 sound is more acid house then 89 onwards to 92/93 became more breakbeat and uptempo. Can do you a list if you like tho?
blast from the past rough rugged n raw lovin the tunes wish it was still like it now....if i could go back id do what i was doin but more if u know what i mean...
ahhhhh!! you luckyyy luckyyyy people!! if i only i was born a decade before lol. WHERE'S ALL THE ECSTACY GONE!! its like its dissappeared off the face of the earth lol. i go to the drum'n'bass raves now, like One Nation etc... and i haven't seen one proper ecstacy pill since '08.....grrrrr damn government
Thanks for the comment, i think we all miss the oldskool raving days, those who experienced them. I think that they were probably the best days of my life.
@geordiespliff - thanks, hope you also read part 1 which is on page 4 of the comments at the moment. I had to do it in 2 parts as i could not fit it all on.
@MsMush6 - Thank You. Reminisce Part 1 is on the comms on this vid somewhere. The full version is on my upload of DJ Easygroove @ The Eclipse part 1, with other poems on Easygroove parts 2 and 3.
just close your eyeys an dream with meeeeee......... we was a lucky generation , an i wouldnt have missed it 4 all the T in china.... fantazia FANNNNTTTTAAAAAZZZZZZIIIIAAAAA
Back then I had a shitty old mark two escort, enough money to make me a weekend millionaire and buy a Q, still lived with my parents, no mrs and no kids - fuck me, those were the days!!
it can be brought back...it can.....if we are willing to work hard enough....talk to enough lawyers...show that we only want to dance....not die on drugs or play music too loud. The vibe never stopped...just people that want to move on to "pop." It CAN be brought back.
lol gay shit. all people do at raves is swing wildly and jump up and down and stupid shit like that. they're so wasted on x they feel like they have some "higher energy" or that they're "connected to the music" but to sober people they look like idiots. fucktards
I was born in 91, but I LOVE this, I think young people do respect this music but not enough are aware of the tunes, rave has lost it's meaning. Most nightclubs right across britain are now designer bars, and play chart music which is shit, theres a lot of dj's that would play this music but they're limited or 'forced' to play music like Tinchy Stryder!
In terms of this music, more people need to experience what a rave actually is, but they will do so don't worry ;)
criminal justice bill took care of that, after it all raves had to apply for licenses which were granted in a corrupt way- the reason ministry of sound was granted a license is because the owners uncle was on the cabinet of government at the time. they commercialise it and take out the messages they dont want you to hear, : positive ones. E's were much more psychedelic. now Id reccomend dmt or salvia , weed or good quality K. Not E's . most are crap now. still not enuf to make u dance all nite
i kkno man i was born n 91, WOuld love to See the Old Skool raves comeback and take form like it did, it was all about Peacce love & unity, Cant wait till Pleasure Domes NYE Old Skool areana woot woot :D
You need to go proper night clubs mate, I doubt every nightclub in the 90's was like the Hacienda, they probably had shit clubs/bars playin wank music as well. Not sure where you're from but try Sankeys or Warehouse Project in Manchester.
this was how the rave scene was started really with the 4 beat luckily was still kickin for me and mates aroun 94 95 but it was a religion not just music as all did the same thing hands in the air time and the runnin man fast feet
The youth of today have no idea what they missed out on. This was a crazy era in in which music was fresh and uplifting and people knew how to go out and enjoy themselves without getting pissed and fighting. Obviously the pills played a massive part but that aside the music brought people from all backgrounds together in that moment...HAPPY DAYZ!! PEACE!!
have you not heard of lets go crazy or global gathering, may not be the same tune but its all loosely based on the same thing, get pilled up and hit the rave scene :) then again your 13....BAD IDEA ;)
The days when sounds, textures and beats were fresh..... The New Age Movement and the New World Order screwed it all up with their Boy Bands and Madonna impersonators. Fuck the Illuminati...........
god...good memories, good times......missin' tha old skool days of helter skelter, dreamscape, fantazia, WD etc etc....nothin like that out here in NZ...its all this pendulum crap....no old skool flava jungle, hardcore, techno.....ive moved on to psychedelic and progressive trance...not tha same buzz as the oldskool U.K flava.jus aload of smelly hippies out in the middle of no where with mediocre sound gear, who give ya weird looks if u aint got dreadlocks....take me back to that early 90's!!!
the youth of today has killed this music.... there is no peace no love no unity anymore just violent little coke heads and drunks that want to be violent start fights and basically cause trouble - great memories though rave on =) =) =)
i remember it being exactly the same back in 88 ish with all the drukns in clubs etc ,but then two years later in 1990 the house scene got a lot bigger and then those drunks started taking pills etc , then it all got lovey dovey. great times. lets invent the time machine quick.
Would love a time machine.. The best years by far and still all the younger ones i speak to now would love to heve been there. We're lucky to have experienced something that will never be forgotten :)
@Tixy78 I agree, I started listening to electronic music in 2004. I'm just now starting to go back and listen to all the classics prior to this date, simply amazing. the music then was wayy better thae it is now. i envy anyone who got to experience true raves.
i disagree. i know some amazin places in birmingham u can go get off ya tits and rave all night without a single bit of trouble. Its still there brother u just gotta look 4 it !! :-)

REMINISCE Part 1:
With Billy and Annie we would dance all night,
With Billy and Annie till the early morning light,
Billy, Pink Champagne that we would all adore,
Annie, a Dove that would help us to soar,
Perspiration dripping, as we danced without care,
Thinking back, i wish i was still there,
The Bass bins pounding, the speakers so loud,
In your own little world but still one of the crowd......
FullToTheBrim1 2 years ago 4
REMINISCE Part 2:
The tunes had you dancing, you could not keep still,
Buzzing and rushing from one little pill,
But morning soon came and off we would drift,
Go home to chill, with our tunes and a spliff,
Those nights were the best, you have to agree,
And recalled for always in my memory.
To all of the Old Skool Ravers out there.
Happy Happy Days and Wicked nights.
You know the score!!!

it can be brought back...it can.....if we are willing to work hard enough....talk to enough lawyers...show that we only want to dance....not die on drugs or play music too loud. The vibe never stopped...just people that want to move on to "pop." It CAN be brought back.

lol gay shit. all people do at raves is swing wildly and jump up and down and stupid shit like that. they're so wasted on x they feel like they have some "higher energy" or that they're "connected to the music" but to sober people they look like idiots. fucktards
ma0ma0ma0 2 years ago
I was born in 91, but I LOVE this, I think young people do respect this music but not enough are aware of the tunes, rave has lost it's meaning. Most nightclubs right across britain are now designer bars, and play chart music which is shit, theres a lot of dj's that would play this music but they're limited or 'forced' to play music like Tinchy Stryder!
In terms of this music, more people need to experience what a rave actually is, but they will do so don't worry ;)
Birchazoid 2 years ago
criminal justice bill took care of that, after it all raves had to apply for licenses which were granted in a corrupt way- the reason ministry of sound was granted a license is because the owners uncle was on the cabinet of government at the time. they commercialise it and take out the messages they dont want you to hear, : positive ones. E's were much more psychedelic. now Id reccomend dmt or salvia , weed or good quality K. Not E's . most are crap now. still not enuf to make u dance all nite

+1 internet for you.
what's so weird with people loving music that they are not grown up with?
are you in for the music or do you want attention because you listen to this music, you're not special.
MageAtYou 2 years ago
You need to go proper night clubs mate, I doubt every nightclub in the 90's was like the Hacienda, they probably had shit clubs/bars playin wank music as well. Not sure where you're from but try Sankeys or Warehouse Project in Manchester.

PEACE!!

I know what u mean...did my first pill in '91...it was fuckin awesome. But the music, the time...man Now Im a soldier in Afghan... how times change

god...good memories, good times......missin' tha old skool days of helter skelter, dreamscape, fantazia, WD etc etc....nothin like that out here in NZ...its all this pendulum crap....no old skool flava jungle, hardcore, techno.....ive moved on to psychedelic and progressive trance...not tha same buzz as the oldskool U.K flava.jus aload of smelly hippies out in the middle of no where with mediocre sound gear, who give ya weird looks if u aint got dreadlocks....take me back to that early 90's!!!
sshhrroooomm 3 years ago
the youth of today has killed this music.... there is no peace no love no unity anymore just violent little coke heads and drunks that want to be violent start fights and basically cause trouble - great memories though rave on =) =) =)
madcliphead 3 years ago 3
i remember it being exactly the same back in 88 ish with all the drukns in clubs etc ,but then two years later in 1990 the house scene got a lot bigger and then those drunks started taking pills etc , then it all got lovey dovey. great times. lets invent the time machine quick.
scruffjones 3 years ago 2
Would love a time machine.. The best years by far and still all the younger ones i speak to now would love to heve been there. We're lucky to have experienced something that will never be forgotten :)

Wevaman 2 years ago
@Tixy78 I agree, I started listening to electronic music in 2004. I'm just now starting to go back and listen to all the classics prior to this date, simply amazing. the music then was wayy better thae it is now. i envy anyone who got to experience true raves.
