@SwillyRB When you spike the ball, it's to stop the clock because either you have no timeouts left or you want to save your timeouts but it's also counted as a play so it takes away a down. In this case, it was forth down and he spiked the ball which in return resulted as a turn over on downs and pretty much ended the game. You get it now?
