Quantum then pretended to kidnap him and forced her to give them the money in order to secure his freedom. However, Vesper fell in love with Bond as well and couldn't live with what she had done (betraying him) so she killed herself rather than having to face Bond again. She probably thought that she had freed the other man she was in love with so it was not all for nothing, however ultimately it was.
The first part of this scene is in Lake Como at the Villa Balbianello it is simple awsome when u get there. It is very romantic, other movie was filmed there too.

Eva's acting in this scene (when she tells him he is more of a man than anyone she has ever met) is just incredible. The look on her face--she is so angry but in love--is just classic, great acting. It brings tears to my eyes every time! She is my favorite Bond girl ever for showing such complex emotion, when all the other girls are just beautiful.
Daniel is an excellent James Bond. Casino Royal has very good romantic scens (when James meets Vesper as well as thus one), great music. My guess: the best James Bond episode ever
The best line in the end is where Vesper says " You're not going to let me in there are you? You put your armor back on and that's that." and when James says " I have no armor left you've stripped me of it, whatever is left of me, WHATEVER is left of me whatever I am I'm yours" now that's classic that's smooth.
I've played music all my life and when it the music starts at 3:44 it just reminds me so much of the feelings I got when I was a child. What a fantastic movie clip!

I would argue the contrary. She gave the money to the bad guys, so they would spare Bond's life back on the train. She locked herself in the elevator in order to prevent them from using her to get to Bond. She kissed his hand in the elevator to absolve him of guilt (like James did for her in the shower scene). The act may have appeared malevolent, but she sacrificed herself so that Bond could go on living. It is a dark ending, but it was easily one of the best endings to a Bond movie.
She and James could have gone after the enemy after he was saved from that balls beating. They had a lot of time together for her to tell Bond why he was saved so it really was not because she saved Bond.That is what they said though in the movie but what about when he gave her the account password. There and then she should have told him. That bitch. lol She so dreamy though.
Vesper has so much Class! She really balanced Bond, once she died that balanced was gone. Excellent Acting. I like Quantum Of Solace as well. It was confusing at first but I finally got it.
This film reminds me so much of OHMSS. New Bond takes over; lush, beautiful John Barry-type score; exotic locales; a more down-to-earth caper for the villain; Bond falling in love which leads to the tragic ending. I had my doubts about Craig but he proceeded to prove me wrong. I really believe he's the best of all the bonds.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a great story - but an Australian model with hardly any acting experience didn't do it justice (he was good in the action scenes though).
Timothy Dalton would have been good for that story, and of course Daniel Craig.
Very unconventional Bond. I like his swagger and rugged looks. Oh and the voice-deep and sexy. He can read me a bedtime story any day. Vesper is gorgeous. I think this movie is the best bond ever. The story line maybe is poignant and real though it maybe a fantasy driven movie.
from russia with love still ranks as all time best... and he is perhaps still in connery's shawdow... but the film was well made... that is the difference... not the bond, the filmakers
This was one of the best James Bond movies ever if not the best. It is better than anything Connery, Dalton, Lazenby, Brosnon ever did. I did like the The Man With The Golden Gun and Live and Let Die. It is to bad they followed up this great movie, one of the best, with Quantum of Solace, one of the worst.

Casino Royale is the very first Bond book.
It's quite short - and set in the 50s.
But, you'll recognise Daniel Craig and Mads Mikkelson in the characters.
You'll also see why they structured the film in such an unusual way - because it mirrors the book.
Not since On Her Majesty's Secret Service has a Bond film so closely mirrored the book it is based on.

This is an amazing 9 minutes of the film but what I still wonder about is if she really loved him.
At 7.15-7.30 it looks as if she still has an eye towards "the other side".
At the end M states that she(Vesper Lynd) was "very much in love" with another man but did she just say that to help Bond feel better?.
Any thoughts?.

This scene kind of reminds me of in OHMSS how Bond knew that he and Tracy both loved eachother and everything, and that has a relation to this scene.

In fact I still am to some extent .. but if you can move on and leave her with a good memory.. who knows what the future will bring. Until then, mavericksf16 is right, you'll go through a few more girls and you'll find another Vesper.. sorry it's sad news, but it's the truth. I think she's shattered because a guy with whom she was in love walked away on her, and she doesn't have anyone(male) unless me.
Yeah, we are best friends and no I'm not gay, because you are right in this one: It's damn hard to talk with her when she's talking with other people.
So, tonight, I took a shot: I told her that I was trying to help her and that cared for her in the past but now if she was so busy I would walk away.
And I did so.

I would argue the contrary. She gave the money to the bad guys, so they would spare Bond's life back on the train. She locked herself in the elevator in order to prevent them from using her to get to Bond. She kissed his hand in the elevator to absolve him of guilt (like James did for her in the shower scene). The act may have appeared malevolent, but she sacrificed herself so that Bond could go on living. It is a dark ending, but it was easily one of the best endings to a Bond movie.

She and James could have gone after the enemy after he was saved from that balls beating. They had a lot of time together for her to tell Bond why he was saved so it really was not because she saved Bond.That is what they said though in the movie but what about when he gave her the account password. There and then she should have told him. That bitch. lol She so dreamy though.

Vesper has so much Class! She really balanced Bond, once she died that balanced was gone. Excellent Acting. I like Quantum Of Solace as well. It was confusing at first but I finally got it.

This film reminds me so much of OHMSS. New Bond takes over; lush, beautiful John Barry-type score; exotic locales; a more down-to-earth caper for the villain; Bond falling in love which leads to the tragic ending. I had my doubts about Craig but he proceeded to prove me wrong. I really believe he's the best of all the bonds.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a great story - but an Australian model with hardly any acting experience didn't do it justice (he was good in the action scenes though).
Timothy Dalton would have been good for that story, and of course Daniel Craig.

Very unconventional Bond. I like his swagger and rugged looks. Oh and the voice-deep and sexy. He can read me a bedtime story any day. Vesper is gorgeous. I think this movie is the best bond ever. The story line maybe is poignant and real though it maybe a fantasy driven movie.

This was one of the best James Bond movies ever if not the best. It is better than anything Connery, Dalton, Lazenby, Brosnon ever did. I did like the The Man With The Golden Gun and Live and Let Die. It is to bad they followed up this great movie, one of the best, with Quantum of Solace, one of the worst.
