As hard as it is to understand, it's not always a good idea to take literary texts literally - like comedies, Bible, etc. I don't think it's even how people in England take such things. Looks like more of a North American tradition... Correct me if I'm wrong...
Hey, am greek (greek-cypriot to be accurate) and i dont find the film offensive at all, infact i remember when i first watched this film i could stop laughing.
Also @GoHomeSmeagol, this film is more true than you realise!
@Brognor "Conservative Fuckers" seriously!? How about some πατριωτισμός ones in a while, you may be anti goverment which in greece it is pretty bad and corrupt 'ill admit but that does it mean you may insult an entire people, your people to be exact.
You're all boring. The funny thing is her tone of voice and the way everyone goes silent when they hear he doesn't eat meat. It has nothing to do with greeks in real life, it's a COMEDY, not a documentery. Playing on the streotypes....
this is me and my mom's favorite part of the movie my mom is always saying what do you mean he don't eat meat and i'll say that's ok i'll make lamb lol
Just a question: i'm not english and i saw this film in italian but i knew that she should have said: "he doesn't eat meat". Maybe the american-english is different?
The real joke, of course, is that the Greek generic word for meat is "Krea" while lamb has a specific word "Arni". Believe me, it's even funnier in Greek!
@j0ofez are you retarded? Im both Greek and English and the English side classifies it all as meat. The Greeks like to be specific. You have "Kreas" and "Arni"...
@east02west Ok ok ok I get it, I was being a smart ass. I'm sorry if I angered anyone. Can't we all be friends and eat some delicious souvlaki down in fitzroy!
ooooo that's okay, that's okay I make lamb
