do you have any hands on with the oem motor , not too many do . and if you do , than you knwo how much of a pain in the ass it is to rebuild , and that there is a huge lack of aftermarket support for it . all has to be farbicated . the rb has crazy aftermarket support , and the block ( if treated well) is good for 500+reliable hp with minimal upgrades. week point in the Q engine is the headgasket . .bout it , stout motor , but i think this is unique and cool .and has room now to grow.

balancing work ? Do you know that VH45DEs where hand assembled in Japan ? Each engine was balanced on its own. RB will need quite a bit of work to handle what a VH can handle stock. After all what did Nissan use in their LeMans R390 super car ?
rb motors can take a lot more punishment with stock internals and support up to 600bhp without going dr.jakyl and mr hide on the block. the stock v8's need extensive bearing work and balancing to acheive those numbers.
The ka24de is has its up and down and the sr20de has its own up and down. some people are swapping because they dont know that they can mod the ka24de just as easily and gain more acceleration for the kind of driving they will be doing with the car. e.g. They are not taking their 240/altima to Nürburgring, but they are doing turns and stoplight to stoplight, something well suited for ka24de mods ... same goes for q45 mods. by the way, the exhaust sounds too loud, you will go deaf.
mmm the q45 stock engine is superior to the skyline stock engine, but everyone's opinion will differ; overall, for THAT car, I would do some mod with the q45's stock engine. If i had a skyline, I would not want to drop in the q45. Make sense?
The OE engine that was in this car was complete junk when we got it, or we would have used it. I think it is just and eBay manifold, with a homeade downpipe and 3" homeade straight pipe. The exhaust (mainly the downpipe) needs work, but its ok for now.
I believe the aftermarket support for the rb25 is way the fuck better...
obviously it's a bigger engine, but look at how many kids are swapping out 2.4L 240 engines to drop in a CA18, SR20, RB20 or other lower displacement engine just to gain aftermarket support....
i swaped out my 2.4 ka engine for a nissan v8 the sr20 rb20, rb25 ,ca18 and vg guys have it all wrong the vh 45 is a god of an engine lots of tourqe almost equal hp. the power band is crasy fat
