  • THEY R TOO FUCKIN CUTE!

  • Flippin' adorable

  • Trent Kowalik came to my school and preformed Electricity and Angry Dance. It was AMAZING!!! Trent did a fabulous job and I thought that he deserved his Tony award

  • i think this year (2009) was the hardest to decide the best musical because omg billy elliot and next to normal are both friggin good. i saw and loved them both like crazy. :D

  • Their faces when they first get up there remind me of the reaction when people first qualify for Worlds in Irish Dance, however, in Irish Dance, you don't get to thank people onstage.

  • ...well, the billys were cute, but COME ON! they beat J. Robert Spencer (he plays the dad from N2N)...oh PLEASE. i have yet to see billy elliot, but i'm just gonna stick with "next to normal" myself. :)

  • lol they are so cute!

  • SO CUTE

  • they're. so. cute.

  • So how were all three eligible? Did each play a separate role within the play or did they just trade off nights? The only other "precedent" I can think of for this was when all 7 von Trapp kids were nominated as a single nomination for "Best Supporting Actress".

  • @hanzszs They all played Billy. They each traded off. Since they're under 16, they can only work a max of 3 hours per day. That's about one and a half performances. So they cast 3 actors to trade off.

  • This award makes no sense. There are so many other shows where people shared a role and they were not given this consideration. June Gable in The Ritz was as funny as Rita Moreno and Patti LuPone could not hold a candle..or anything else...next to her Evita alternate Terri Klausner...a MAJOR talent who should have been a MAJOR star.

  • Let's see moms, dads, sisters, ballet teachers, fellow cast members. Me thinks somewhere there are some really pissed family dogs!!

  • "I wanna thank the grass, for growing, and the trees for being so big and beautiful, and what the hell I'll thank me as well because I'm so damn good at my job..."

  • No one has ever deserved anything more. Great talent.

  • kiril is so hot

  • So cuye.

  • *they deserved this!!!!! 

  • "my mom my dad my brother n my sister" "my mom my dad n my TWO sisters"

"my mom my dad n my THREE sisters"

Lol luv them they deserved!!!!!!!! 

  • Who is that black woman? Anybody know??

  • @coldrae Audra McDonald

  • wow they must be the youngest winners ever

  • I couldn't watch this without crying. I'm so proud of the 3 of them and this may very well have been one of the best tony acceptance speeches I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Bravo, boys... bravo.

  • Those rotten, rotten brats! They're just little children, I could care less! Nah, I'm just kidding! David, Trent & Kulish are so adorable, very gifted all 3 of them. Congratulations to the Big 3.

  • D'aww!! They're so cute!!!

  • U GUYS R ALL SOOOOO CUTE!! I'm sooo glad u guys won u deserved it! I LOVE U GUYS U R ALL SOOOO AMAZING

  • i think you mean sir elton john, not lord :)

  • why would they say lord?

  • I love how genuinely surprised and speechless they are.

  • Actually,I think that David is the most serious. Trent and Kiril are not so serious.

  • I love Trent. he played billy at my performance and when i look at the other billys i just dont think it would be the same for me. he was amazingg and so adorable at the tonys :)

  • Kiril is grinning his head off. Its kina funny tho.

  • he always is. in every pic or vid ive seen :)

  • freakin adorable

  • well they had to robe him, he just came out of the shower.....

  • lol. i meant ROBBED.

  • Have you seen Billy Elliot? No one on Broadway is working as hard as those boys are, let alone anyone in their age bracket. They deserved their awards for their riveting performances and especially the amount of work that they put into each performance.

  • They're cute and talented, but Gavin and J. Robert Spencer were so robbed of this. No offence I just really feel that way....

  • I love David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik, and Kiril Kulish.

  • THIS IS SO CUTE!! Lol I love them they are so adorable and after seein the performance that trent did very very well deserved for all three of them! proof that you are never to young to make a difference =D

  • trent is soooo cute

  • Goodbye, Kiril. I was at your final. You did a great job. No one cares about the tears and a few missed high notes. You were fantastic. Always remember the love from the audience, the respect of your fellow cast members, the enormous S.O. after Electricity. The role has NEVER been danced better, and seldom played as well. You will always be my Billy Elliot. The lights on Broadway are burning a little less brightly this week without your name on the Billy cast board. With all best wishes.

  • They're so adorable...

    All of them

  • for real, that was the most awkward beginning of an acceptance speech... and the most AMAZING!

  • @Grrrstin I LOVED IT...so funny I AM SO PROUD of them because they are so young and already have achieved so much~~

  • There are a lot of people who don't think that the should have won, and to an extent i agree. On the other side of things however, I think that it would have been a disappointment and sort of an embarrassment if they did not win......the London Billies won it and the Australian boys won it as well.

  • well there's also the fact that it would've been embarrassing because it would show the Tony voters are retarded, who is nearly as good as them?

  • I could watch this video every day and not get bored. You guys are my heroes. The show will not be quite the same without you. Kiril, you were the first to play Billy this side of the Atlantic. You will always have that honor. Best of luck after Oct. 3. The role has seldom been played as well, and has certainly never been better danced than by these three wonderful boys. You accomplished what tens of thousands of US kids can only dream of. Bravo and well done! Fly high forever.

  • i really want to c this show so badly !!!!!

  • they deserved it.

those guys have worked so hard.

  • i saw this yesterday it was awesome i saw david alverez he was amazing i love the show so much its the best show ever

  • This is so cute i luv Kiril so so much.. But i luv them all! Nd i think its kinda rude how everyone keeps laughing @ them!

  • they weren't laughing at them . they really didn't have a speach prepared because they probably didn't expect to win this . i thought it was cute !!

  • Too Adorable, they literally thanked everyone. And I love how the each had one more sister then the one before.

  • love the guy screaming "Go Trent-o!!" go trent-o is right! he's awesome!

  • I was just thinking the same thing!!!

  • XD Right now...that guy is my hero!

  • haha this is so adorable

  • Robberry!

  • i just love 2:11 LMAO

  • LOL

  • Matt Cavenaugh didn't get nominated. :( Oh well this is cool.

  • omg! when i was @ ABT summer workshop david stopped by and a croud of girls came screaming billy elliot and asked for autographs and pics. it was freakin crazy!

  • hahaha! they're so funny! :p

  • ohmygod. this is incredible. David used to go to my dance school. he got accepted into ABT and now he's on broadway and won a Tony. wow. that boy is freakin amazing.

  • These kids are amazing and sooo cute.

  • how old are they? so adorable!

  • Kiril and David are 15.

    Trent is 14

  • LOL.

    "Mom, Dad, sister"

    "Mom, Dad, two sisters"

    "Mom, Dad, THREE sisters"

  • Theye were all fourteen and up when they won this.

And have you seen them dance? they deserved it soo much.

  • Last week I met David after a performance and he was very nice to sign my book. You are a great kid.

  • I just google for Kiril and David and found out that they both

were on ballet competition and Kiril won Grand Prix and David 3 place

Congratulations, guys, you are wonderful!.I really want to meet you and talk about your future.

  • Well, don't believe in that competition - it's completely manipulated by the Russians. The director, the Russian Larissa Savalier, is a "very very close friend" of Kiril's Russian teacher in San Diego. That year, David clearly outstaged Kiril both technically and artistically, but David is neither Russian nor had a Russian teacher. That year, however, David won a full scholarship to the American Ballet Theater; Kiril did not. But scholarships are given by th schools, not by the Russians...

  • Oh jkoballerina would you quit with your anti Kiril/Anti Russian comments!!! By the way Kirils heritage is Ukranian, not russian, but who cares!?!? He is a brilliant dancer, thats what counts, not where he is from.

No one is saying that David isnt brilliant too by the way!

Why do you always feel the need to run Kiril down when you praise David? Grow up a little.

  • Well, i competed yagp 2005 thru 2009 and that competiton is CRAP all about money: Money for teachers, money for the owners and money for the prizes items. money and money...

is evident you don't know much about ballet so for you david is "brilliant too". sorry is David is not the "blonde boy" (me neither) He's a DANCER with a muscular and clean technique and MORE. ABT consider HIM a child prodigy! So in the Kingdom of the Blind, the One-eyed Man is King...

  • Prizes001, you truely are an idiot! Where exactly did I post that I hate David?? Show me one post on here or anywhere else where I have ever said anything negative about David. You wont find one because unlike you I dont believe in posting rude or negative comments about ANY performers. And for you to take my comment that "David is brilliant too" as a negative one shows that YOU really have no clue what you are talking about. I dont care how many competitions you've danced in. You're still rude!

  • sorry irishboiBE... I'm so sorry that Im so undeucated and RUDE.

  • nice work lads!

  • well at some parts it is and i think trent is better and trent is definitely a better singer and tap dancer than david and kiril

  • One time only!

  • yeah I know but they already made a deeper version of Electricity for Kiril to sing

  • David is also singing the lower version of the song, I believe. It doesn't affect the power of the song at all.

  • was there anyone younger them they to get a tony?

  • Daisy Eagan was 11 when she won in 1991. But these 3 are the youngest for this particular category(technically, Trent is the youngest).

  • omg they were so cute and akward!

    Especially David.

Felt so bad, they looked like they were all about to cry!

  • awe, i lovee this :)

    kiril is too damn cute<3

    they all are extremely

    talented, well deserved.

  • he think he looks like Bruno? "Not at all!

  • prizes001 you seriously have a problem. I dont think I have ever encountered such a rude and immature supposed "fan" as you. If you dont have anything nice to say how about you dont say anything at all. We know David is your fav, and thats perfectly ok. However does that really mean you need to insult Kiril, who by the way is Davids friend? You have said in other posts that you "know David". How do you think he would feel if he read your insults of his friends.

    You really are rude!

  • Comment removed

  • oh god - that's true the middle guy looks like bruno!

  • IrishboiBE: This may surprise you, but you are my favorite character of all time.

Some people like black humor, grotesque, morbid humor...

and david likes that: "Life is like a shit sandwich. The more bread you have, the less shit you have to eat"... hahahahahahah...

and finally, yes, in my opinion kiril looks like Bruno... black humor? maybe...

  • Yes prizes001, that would surprise me a lot. Actually im beginning to think that you and I may have crossed paths and swords elsewhere. Anyway I am giving up fighting. I will just continue to focus on posting positive things about the cast and it would be nice if you would too. Though I doubt that will happen. I will leave it to others to determine the value of your comments.

  • and what about the Michels?.. david bilogna did do more than five performances in the row...

  • The show started off with 2 Michaels ( Frand and David B ). It is not as physical as Billys, role. He isnt on stage as often and doesnt have as many dance/singing routines to do so it is possible for a Michael to perform more often than a Billy.

  • they are frikin cute. . . ..

  • "My mom my dad my brother and sister........

My mom my dad and my *two* sisters

My mom my dad and my THREE sisters..."

  • why kim's son in miss saigon was not nominated for tony he could be the youngest to be nominated.

  • They really deserved.

They put so much work in 2 it, so much of themselves 2 make that part wat it is.

No one will ever be able as hard as they try 2 perform that part as well as those boys.

    They r so humble.

They were in shock when they won.

Not that they should have been, but they probably thought that they wouldn't win cause they were just teenage boys.

They r all fabulous at that part and they all have what you like better for one boy then you do for an other.

I cant wait 2 c more of them

  • i love the part about the sisters

  • This is quite possible the most adorable acceptance speech ever! Right up there with Daisy Egan winning.

  • This is the most physically demanding role on broadway. Not everyone can do it and i doubt many adults could

  • Why were 3 boys cast instead of 1.

  • because they're all young and young people have to stick to a certain amount of time they can work!

  • well one boy cant exactly perform 2 times a day for what, I dont know how much they showed it in the us, for like... 6 months straight, every single day? Thats impossible- it would kill them..

    :)

  • Adults do it. No offense to these 3 guys, they are very talented, but if they want to be professionals in this business they should be expected to perform as much as the adults do.

  • thats the point.. they're 14 .. not adults..and its said to be the most physically demanding role on broadway

  • it's because of child labor laws that they're unable to perform as much as adults. when they turn 18 they get the usual schedule

  • its not just that the role is so demanding, but also it's actually illegal for children to work as many hours as they would if they were the only billy.

  • It is against the law for them to perform so much. They most likely can do it, but Child Labor Laws won't allow it.

  • It was the rehearsal stage that was hard to work out because of the hours, not the performances. The role is just physically too difficult for one boy to pull off night after night. David Alvarez actually did do 3 performances in a row when the other two were sick. The musical "13" had no problem with child labor doing 8 performances a week with their 14-15 year old cast on Bdwy.

  • Thanks for the clarification.

  • This is true. There does seem to be some difference between child labor laws in the UK and the US. For example there was only one Debbie playing each show on Broadway. But as homeimps has mentioned there is just too much for Billy to do on stage for him to be able to perform each show. Too much dancing and even the screaming in Angry Dance would take its toll on his voice. They have to share the role.

  • At least for the lead role in 13 (I don't know that show too well), there was an alternate - who coincidentally was a London Billy :3

  • Actually, it's not all that uncommon in very demanding roles for more than one actor to do it. The original cast of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Some of the dancers in Movin' Out. Lea Salonga in Miss Saigon.

  • but their not adults, so until then the producers have to comply with child labor laws.

  • I beg to disagree... a framed poster of "Phantom of the Opera" hanging on my wall clearly states: "at certain performances Patti Cohenour plays the role of 'Christine'" ... professional adults do it too when the role is physically or vocally demanding.

  • Also...it's againt SAG laws!

  • Even adults have under studies.

  • True, but normally, understudies (and replacements once an actor leaves a show) aren't eligible for Tony awards (I'm pretty sure the rule is, you have to be in the part on the official opening night - and from what I heard, Tony award eligibility is one of the reasons Hugh Jackman was replaced when the late-90s London "Oklahoma" production came to Broadway). The producers needed special permission to enter all three boys as a single entry.

  • In response to ptm127, if I had a son who could sing, dance, and act like any of these three, I would be damned proud -- regardless of whether he's queer or straight.

p.s., I'm also queer and proud.

  • Ok dude,

For your info their not quier 2 of them have girlfriends. OK?

Just cause they can sing, dance, and act does not make them gay.

You make judgements and thats ridiculous

    Thank you very much

  • cutest speech ever lol

  • so cute xD

  • The same reaction when ANNA PACQUIN won the OSCAR for Best Supporting Actress for THE PIANO! She was only 10!! In their mind is: WHAT SHOULD I SAY!! WHAT SHOULD I SAY!!!

  • so! you gotta a problem with queers!!! im one and i think there nothing wrong with it! so screw u!

  • They're doing better off than you are. Like bdouvill said, if they were my kids, I would be insanely proud of them!

  • i will admit though, they made a funny speech!

  • they did. best costume design

  • it won best costume!

  • no,shrek did

  • that's what i said, alexandertom95 said "shrek should have won something" then I replied "it won best costume!"

  • kiril kulish is...omg. he's hot.

  • Lol at davidss face 1:14.

    but its cute.

  • I don't want to say they're adorable cause there my age-ish.... but ya there awesome

  • their*

  • *they're

    sorry ;)

  • How could 3 people be in one role?
