I freaking love Artemis Fowl books. They're pretty funny and well written. Definitely funny though. Finished the Atlantis Complex and it was good. There should be one more after that, I know it's not finished. The series I mean.

@jirax2700 I know! I would love to see this as a live-action movie, but lately, all the novel-movies that have come out have been an embarrassment! Currently, I'm hoping for an animated movie, it would be easier to stick to the book!

@SuperJinglebombs well the problem is probably how to make it a good movie. there's so many details that's necessary for a Artemis Fowl movie, and it'd have to be a very long movie too. and the right actors might be hard to find, as the characters are so unique and special. to find a kid with those cold scary eyes, and this smile that can freeze a man, will be a very hard job. though it's still possible :P

No way! The Artemis Fowl series has been my companion for the past few years, and I can't bear to let it just go!!! =(

And yeah, the Time Paradox didn't tie up some loose ends, and made me feel a bit let down. I hope he Colfer writes something else; maybe not another follow up, but probably something for side reading.

take it from me who have read the book, it's a little hard to get into, there is a huge personality diffrence in Artemis, and be ready to read it a few times, took me 2 times to fully understand it.

@TheHello243 There's been no casting, no production, etc. Eoin wrote the script, but it doesn't mean it will be made. Either it will take a few more years for a studio to decide to make it, or it would never be made. Unfortunately :(

But Butler's presence is an integral part of the series...I think that the screenplay needs to be as close to the books as possible, the same goes for the casting.

Am I the only person who thinks that Halle Berry is WRONG for Holly?Holly supposed to be lightly tanned at the most.Also, I think most of the people that have been guessed are too old.Anyone who's read ttp will know that it would be DISTURBINGLY CREEPY if anyone over the age of eg. 21, plays Holly.I mean it would be just wrong cause Arty's 14 and will prob look younger in the movie.

Dude. In TTP, Holly makes the point that she and Artemis are very close in human years. Also, Halle Berry is the perfect choice. She is a talented actress and can portray any role. Plus the only ones that will have to try for the accent are Artemis and Butler. The fairies aren't Irish, Alan Rickman (the man supposedly playing Artemis Sr.) can use the accent from his work with Harry Potter, and Actors can portray like anything they want. That's why they are hired on to do the movie.
