  • So did kaizen work in my case? No! My idea was simple, but the super long stalls in the middle of the lot with a ring road around the outside. Now when you need a truck you get three drivers(took 5 guys the current way) and drive the trucks FORWARD, no backing(!)around the ring. 2 go back in the slot 1 goes to the shop. Simple! But no, the management couldn't bend their mind around that one, so the kaizen team ended up with the exact layout as before! With freshly painted lines of coarse.

  • Now that's Kaizen! I can't believe the crap people call Kaizen. I worked on a kaizen team to develop a better what to park trucks waiting for service at my shop. It really sucked, we spent hours "stirring trucks" to get to the one we needed! The lot had super deep stalls that fit 3 trucks. To get to the first 1 you backed out the other 2. Where the hell do you put the other 2, wilst getting the 1?!
