To me....he has to be the best ever keeper in the world....Zenga was brilliant but I think Dasaev just pips him and I defy any goalkeeper in todays field to have 50% of his ability....Jez I mean how may keepers do you see commanding an area like that and actually CATCHING the ball....today's goalkeeping pussies punch punch punch.....pathetic!! IMHO think that Zenga was one of the best golkeeper in football history.

Rinat was very good, but not the better. Please, watch the video about Roberto Rojas. There were matches against England, Brazil,etc. He really was the 80's better goalkeeper. Others great goalkeepers were Schumacher, Pfaff, Preud'Homme, Paco Buyo, Van Breukelen, all at the same level that Dasaev, but Roberto Rojas was the better

best keeper in international football in the early 1980's. Under-rated, and forever missed off lists of great goalies. Never flapped at the ball, strong on shot-stopping, taking crosses and distribution. Strong all-round keeper, would be worth a lot of money in the modern game.

Les SACO de sus listas a Chilavert ya Higuitas, más payasos que arqueros, Córdova era mejor que Higuita y el Gato Fernández más que Chilavert, esos destacaron por show. @Juan13Gabriel Bueno, revisa entonces a cada legendario. Yo he visto videos de muchos y de todos me parece que Rojas fue el más completo. Te recuerdo que sólo medía 1,80 y que jugaba con la "ayuda" de la siempre pésima defensa chilena y enfrentaba frecuentemente a Brasileños, Argentinos y Uruguayos y nunca le hacían más de un gol. Rojas no tenía los defensas de la mayoría de los otros arqueros y se enfrentó a los más grandes: Brasil. Busca y ve los videos y después opina. Rojas fue mejor.

What's really remarkable here is that eight minutes of highlights were available from relative handful of games. If not all, then very nearly all are from the 1982 World Cup (USSR - five games), 1986 World Cup (USSR - four games), and 1988 European Championship (USSR - five games).

The best keeper of 80s was Toni Schumacher, the second best was Pfaff.

Dasaev was also good but let`s not forget that he was privileged by Lobanovsky. Even when Dasaev was playing badly for "Spartak" and received cheap gooals, Lobanovsky kept him as a first-choice keeper in the Soviet team, instead of giving chance to Viktor Chanov who was also very good. Why? Just to demonstrate that "sbornaya" is not "Dynamo" (Kiev)?

Russian is nt just a race, its also a nationality. So Dasaev is of Tatar ethnicity, but he played for the Soviet Union/Russia. He is a Tatar Russian. Tatar is the RACE, Russian is the NATIONALITY.

Yes the most well rounded goalkeeper in the world ever. A bit underrated today but back in the 80s he was a legend with no, previous or up to that date, equal. Van Basten's goal against him from an impossible angle in 1988 Euro was one of those few, plain moments, when football is rightly so the king of sports
