great review & thank you for finally answering the indoor vs ultrafear question with a detailed response...!i myself own the indoor 2011 & love it but think i'm going to add the ultrafear just to have a nice set up for my season this year! p.s name of song in review? thanks
@tilleybrdr90 To do justice to your question this will take a couple posts. The UltraFear and Indoor survival are pretty similar boards. They both have the freestyle flatkick reverse camber profile, which means the board is flat from the ends of the binding inserts through the middle of the board, with a slight rise on the nose and tail outside of the inserts. They're both true twins. They're also both going to have a pretty similar feel and flex.
@tilleybrdr90 whereas the UltraFear has one layer of biax and one layer of triax glass. The UltraFear also has a layer of dampening material underneath the core in the middle of the board, the Indoor does not. Basically what all this translates to is that the UltraFear is going to have a little bit more pop than the Indoor, it's going to maintain some more stability when you're going fast, and it's going to have a smoother less chattery ride.
@tilleybrdr90 The Indoor may be slightly softer in flex, but really they're going to both have a pretty similar feel when it comes to butters and presses. You can think of the UltraFear as slightly "higher end" than the Indoor as far as the materials used, and it's also a more limited edition board than the Indoor. Overally they're both great boards, personally the UltraFear is one of my absolute favorite boards to ride ever but i would also hop on an Indoor Survival any day.
@tilleybrdr90 The difference is that the UltraFear has Capita's DS Select core, while the Indoor has the RFC sustainable core. They're both poplar wood cores, the difference is that the DS select core incorporates beech along the edges of the board which will add a little bit to your edge hold as well as the pop or ollie power of the board. The two boards also have different fiberglass configurations, the Indoor has all biax glass,

@tilleybrdr90 Both are definitely park slaying boards that you can pretty much take anywhere, you won't go wrong either way.
