If you 'growl on your albums', then it's a style that you obviously enjoy. So, why would this type of thing offend you? It's no different than a bunch of guitarists showing off their chops. If they are having fun, and it's done in an appropriate environment (which it is), all the power to them.

I think, that there are many growlers out there, who suck period. So many songs that I listen to, where I think:"AWESOME RIFF!!" and the the singer starts to...sing and I klick the song away.

At this competition, we're even able to see 5 of them (3 completely, the one in the beginning, for half his attemp and a girl, who did actually better then the others).

Hands around the mike are already eough to call it: Fail.

If there haven't been better attemps 1-4, I tguess, this competition sucked.
