  • i just ordered one of these!!!! YES!!

  • Crikey, shut up in the background!

  • What is the RAM?

  • @pekkle007 512MB.

  • I like my iPad 2, but i loved my first tablet the Archos 101 16gb.

There is just something about that kickstand that i just love!

But i really think these tablets are a total touchdown winner!

I have an ipad, yet i rather have one of these. I mean i loved my xoom, but i really loved the HoneyComb, cause of how far advanced it came from 2.3.

My iOS 5 looks like iOS 3 and 4, and my iPad 2 looks just like an iPad 1. There was like no major advances.

  • Have to love the left, always going to CNN. Oo

  • are these in the shops now or are they out 2012

  • Why are all these reviews and quick looks always about the 1.5GHz versions which don't come out til 2012 why can't they do reviews of the 1GHz versions?

  • OMG this is the worst review I ever seen!!!!!!!

  • blah blah blah loading 1 webpage, play Angry Birds Rio... pffffffff .

Where is the power ?. Benchmarks... velocity test... ports... view angles... ?

  • @radareto You'll have to wait for that. This is jsuta preview.

  • @j814wong Yes, is a preview but a bad preview... show nothing...

  • I had a Asus transformer with the Nvidia Tegra processor. It's not that impressive. I'm curious about this processor from TI

  • Lag I see!

  • Why they put a damn 4:3 screen on it, that sucks !

  • Only 512MB of RAM. ALl new tablets has 1GB+

Using this will not be comfortable with so small amount of installed memory :(

  • I'd love to know what currency that 299-399 price is in.

  • @drxym GBP

  • I was hoping they would come out with a 5mp rear camera.

I know they have a front facing camera, but a 5mp or 8mp camera and a removable battery would put this unit in a class of it's own.

It's going to be tablet wars this Christmas.

  • I think I might have to get one, I just sold my HD PVR, and my archos 5 IMT wont turn on any more, so may purchase one of these

  • how much ram it has is it at least 1GB Ram

  • wait.... if the stick is usb could htat port be used as a usb normal port?

  • @dankuro97 I've heard it as 2 usb ports, both host but at same time they may lock the dongle 1 to be just for that use

  • why arent they selling this is INDIA??????? :(

  • @theprolightingindia september release date

  • @traxanasify i know that they are releasing it in september. but my question is why are they not selling Archos products in India?

  • @theprolightingindia have you tried from ebay ?

  • Comment removed

  • @traxanasify Not released until september

  • Soooo this or tab 10.1?

  • Best tablet value wise time to root this puppy

  • battery life ?

  • @johnko13 it was on their shop site but they changed it already

  • @MACBLACK91 they changed it because it isn't true anymore. all models will have the 1.5ghz chip.

  • *tablet, but the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is too expensive - If Archos has improved at all since the days of the archos 5, I might pick this up.

  • I'd love to get a good android tab

  • @Dragonhide94 yes they posted that there was a typo on there store site so now every device will have 1.5ghz can't wait!

  • damn to bad I have to get the 250gb becouse only that one will have 1.5ghz

  • @MACBLACK91 they never said that in the video, so I would like to know where you got that from.

  • @MACBLACK91

    where did you read that?

  • what an ugly tablet!

  • @gg2000gg2000 I'd still rather have this than an iPad personally. Tech specs and price matter more to me than looks tbh

  • If one of the tablets main function is for watching films, why have a 4:3 display? I'd buy it without doubt otherwise,

  • @jaw2floor good news the 10 inch version is 16by10 yeah

  • Archos has made some great media players but as soon as they started making tablets the products have gone down hill.

  • @roboghost7 lol i know what you mean i almost got an archos 7 instead of an ipod touch but no android market so i got the ipod touch now rocking the evo 3d and want a tablet and this is the first time i can say that archos made a good tablet for the price

  • I take it the bad comments are from people who never own the Archos 70?

  • @Blunder1248 +++ I own an Archos 70. I love the form-factor, size, weight. It performs ok, but what holds it back from being a great 7-incher is the slow CPU that's installed in it, and also the miniscule amount of RAM it has :-(

  • is the money in dollar or euros or GBP?

  • omg this will be only £199!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JordanOPGS i mean the 8 inch one

  • looks like a HUGE Nexus One

  • I don't know why people waste money on crappy devices like this. archos makes the worst products and you though sammy was bad with updates...how about none ever. I'd spend my money on the other better tablets out there. this is not one of them.

  • @mnguyea I'm not sure what you mean, I've had my 5 IMT for a little over a year and gone through 2 updates in firmware. Archos makes good products, but no one is going to be excited about anyone having one. I do make people with iPods jealous of the 250GB HDD though.

  • @mnguyea In the 9 months since i've had my A70 (Gen8), Archos has released at least two major firmware updates. And they often are watching the forums and making sure that they respond to their customer's issues.

Now Archos isn't perfect by any stretch, after all, they are at the lower price point. But for what you pay, you get a damn good product. I'd rather spend 275 for my A70 which can do everything an iPad can do and more (flash), than 600 for a silly iPad that is hamstrung by Apple.

  • @anonimuso agreed to that! 100$

  • @anonimuso 100 % sorry

  • how about for ebooks will it do good at that too?

  • @sh9683 My current Archos (A70) does ebooks pretty well. It's really just the software that matters. I use FBReader, which is great because it can recognize all of the formats you might want (.mobi, epub, pdf). I'm sure that you won't have any problems with the new Gen9.

I must say that I think Archos took a step back in terms of design with Gen9. My Gen8 A70 is sleek and all black. The new Gen9 looks chunky and is grey and black. I think they should have stuck with the old design.

  • @anonimuso thanks, im not worried about it being chunky, my personal prefrerence is that actually,

  • @sh9683 i think there is a ebook app for android

  • @mnguyea i disagree i never bought archos tablets because of no offical android market and the specs werent competive now that the specs are top notch and offical market i might pick up the archos 10 g9 250gb version it retails for 470 when its released maybe ill buy if you gets to my 399 sweet point

  • @mnguyea The Gen 9 tablets are reported to be some of the best on the market in actual fact. I am not really sure how you are in a position to say otherwise when the products isn't even available in many countries quite yet!

  • I think archos makes great products but every single device I've ever sold or owned never gets any support after an update which just fixes what should have already work

  • how much ram and will the hard drive be available in the 8 inch model?

  • @mycomputerismyfriend yes for hard drive on 8inch model

  • i like to test Live Touch Xj remix on this Tablet !

  • or you could spend $50-100 extra on an Asus transformer and have proper software support for the future? Not a single archose device has been kept remotely up to date on software.

  • i could have been first but it said error :(

  • It has a kickstand like an HTC EVO.

  • HOw much are tehse? When do they come out?

  • @BSchorr $249 for the 8-inch version and $349 for the larger 10-incher.

  • I wouldnt buy that peice of shit if it was $50! Galaxy tab 10.1 here i come

  • come on hold still for a moment !!!!!!!!!!!

  • The kickstand and the 3g thing is awesome

  • 250 GB plus the 1.5 dual core is pretty awesome but the built quality isn't the best....software pecs are awesome but the hardware look cheap

  • @TheDon0217 thats why it costs so low if it had a good build quality it would cost around 450 bucks

  • 1.5GHz isn't necessarily faster than a dual-core running at 1.2......

  • this looks like ass.

  • Looks kinda thick hate the fact the camera is on the side

  • anyone can make a honeycomb tablet with decent specs (any company that is), all they need to do is work on some damn design.. Which archos clearly didn't.

  • let me gues the resolution is 400x800

  • @solarlightning

     8”: 1024 x 768

    10.1”: 1280 x 800

    stop guessing and use Google

  • This one uses baboon glass :) , not quite gorilla

  • hws the build quality for the screen?? gorilla glass??? or mayb someother cheap glass??or no glass at all??

  • can't wait!!!!

  • looks like a good tablet, i hate how it looks tho

  • The usb feature is pretty cool

  • I'm still having trouble taking archos seriously after I look at my Archos 43 with an unusable resistive screen and bad build quality.

  • The dude w/ the Tablet needs to talk louder. I had to turn my volume all the way up just to hear him to hear him at mediocre. I see the display of the tablet isn't that food, but I'm ok.

  • Tsrif

  • cool vid bro, show it again.
