ANd the most unique thing about NYC is that if a hurricane forms, it will form in the Northern Hemisphere, while NYC is frozen to ice. I go the LA 3times a week(1hour drive) and theres rarely any traffic.
THe roads are very wide. NYC is bright wherever you go, but all you can see is windows and you cant see the way home because buildings are blocking the way.
Unique that NYC has 2downtowns(Manhattan and where Empire State Building is)
And people are hating LA, so I have to guard LA!

LA wouldnt nescessarily be like NYC becaus LA has very poor mass transit. NYC has more people in a much more confined area than LA and has less congestion and less crime. As for earthquakes, supertall buildings can be built on fault lines as done in Japan. Earthquakes are a small deterent if any to Californains. As far as freezing, NYC freezes very year in the frigid winters (except maybe for this year and before). Also, LA will fall into the pacific eventually. But NY has no palm trees :(

Your trying to tell that NYC doesnt give you any safety, but crimes.
Buildings can be supported, and even if theres an earthquake, the outside of the building changed shape. But inside-no.
NYC-Rarely mountains, trees, sunsets, stars to watch, sunlights, car sales, safety, but buildings and business.
People in NYC always break up becasue the husband always go doing business, and rarely come back home. In LA, theres time with your lover. So LA=better than NYC

Chicago has the second largest downtown and then is lower manhattan in third, and that is going by office space and such, by geographic area downtown LA is larger.

The ONLY thing I dont get is....
San Francisco lies on a faultline and it has more buildigns than LA.
Can LA just build more buildings? Like a 30story one?
And LA skyline is fine. Its not like NYC and Chicago. NYC and Chicago has the stupid skylines. ONly buildings
LA has better skylines. The Highways and Freeways.
Nothing can beat LA by cars. LA has better cars than NYC.
SF has bridges, and LV has casino and a very long freeway to Salt Lake City.

consider the la / orange county metropolitan area population is right around 10 million. it does sprawl, but it's completely urban. flying over it in a plane you can see a solid carpet of lights that stretches nearly a hundred miles from south OC to santa clarita. where i lived went from farmland in 1950 to suburb with freeways in 1959. now land is completely a premium. i live 25 miles from downtown LA. on the way there you pass through 6 cities with absolutely no open space.

Los Angeles is hideously creepy for me. They make people have to get nearly everywhere by car instead of by foot, bike, or skating. I think very many residents from Los Angeles are so fat because of that!

hey l.a. lies on a fault line that's why the building can't be taller than 50 stories . the tallest bldng has 72 stories. l.a. city has 3 million the metropolitan l.a includes hollywood,santa mon,long beach,anaheim, more than 9 million. I LOVE L.A. is not my hometown but i made it my hometown i love living here....australia is beautiful
