@yalami7 Buy it. You'll never regret it. He starts it like a boss, he keeps it like a boss, he ends it like a boss. It's one of those solid concerts on film people 20 years from now will call one of the best.
If John did THE SAME THING in the 70's, he would be considered an legend, just like Hendrix. But nowadays people are more worried in talkin' shit bout new artists than recognizing them.
if only more people knew how amazing John was at playing guitar. Everyone knows john mayer for his pop stuff and a lot of people dont like him for it, i think its great though. But this stuff just blows me away. He's so damn talented. He really needs to do some more blues stuff.
@Tucker8720 i totally agree! people don't like his pop songs or stuff but DAMN his blues songs are freakin awesome and his guitar skills are absolutely amazing! he is so freakin talented wheter you like it or not haha
@dookiebabii No... he wrote this song... Hendrix would never write something like this. The riffs are similar to his styling, but the lyrical content....no. No, no, no, no, no.
This proves that John Mayer is so good that people confuse his songs for the legends... I bet if some people knew this was his song, they'd instantly say it's shit despite them liking it in the first place...
actually the lyrical content is right up the alley of hendrix..."i carry the weight of the world in the palm of my hand" would fit right into Voodoo Chile
@SubsistenceSC hey this is actually power of love by hendrix. its my favorite song by him and i instantly knew it was his. John did a cover!! you know, covers DO exist!!!
@17agarreaud Yeah, the outro is Power of Love by band of gypsies. He usually ends the song on variations of that riff. Check out his Crossroads 2010 performance. He does a better impression of Hendrix on that outro than here.
@dreamquarter who cares the fact that he chose to play it and in this style shows that he wants to show his true blues side...and of course all his crazy ass skills!!!
What a solid performer! Definately inspired by JH, but with his own voice and talent...

@SubsistenceSC You don't know for sure that John Mayer wrote this song. A lot of artists, including Mayer, have ghost writers.
lnr08f 3 months ago
@lnr08f he went to Berklee. People who go to Berklee don't have "ghost writers".
bellybuttoncheesewiz 3 months ago
@lnr08f Mayer doesn't have a ghost writer.......

@SubsistenceSC not for the trio but he does for his solo work. doesnt matter though b.c the trio is all that really matters

@lnr08f Mayer writes all his songs... I mean he probably jams with other artists and adopts things in his songs but he is a songwriter
