On October 7, 2007 while riding a 500 cc Yamaha T-Max scooter in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Abe was involved in a traffic accident with a truck, which made an illegal U-turn in front of him, at 6:20pm local time. He was pronounced dead two and a half hours later at 8:50pm at the hospital where he was taken for treatment

It's just so ironic.

He raced bikes, that would bring 99% of us 6 feet under in no time, and then dies in a terrible and unecessary crash in traffic...a shame.

This was totally needless.. In the news report, they say that the possible cause of the accident was a truck that made a U-turn on a road that prohibited U-Turns on it.. This is why i'm hesitating to get a bike. Too many stupid people on the roads now a days...
