The game is completely arcade. Check the hundreds of dissapointed posts on codemasters forums. You drop the clutch at 18000rpm in first and all you get is 3ft of rubber and the car mysteriously grips every time. Handling physics is geared towards 12 year olds. Incredible that a game that looks this good handles so arcade. The difficulty curve is measured in rapidity of operation, i.e. how violently and accurately you can turn the wheel. It's difficulty has nothing to do with throttle control.

they used the same wheel on all cars, they could improve it, and the water spray out of the car so that you control also improved so yes there is perfect

What monitors were they using on the Blue Tiger rigs? If they were B273H then they're the same as the one I just bought :D Not bad for a cheap 27" panel, but I found the colours were more washed out than my Samsung. After a calibration with a Spyder 3 it was a bit better though.

grand prix 4 Geoff Crammond's is still one of the best F1 sims - i still play it to death,- codemasters F1 2010 looks nice - but ill wait for a review

I can't believe F12010 will have no adjustable FOV. It's appalling how many game developers don't realize that this is a necessity and can greatly alter the users experience depending on what size monitor he/she has and how far away they sit from it.

I guess this shows that they aren't really on the Big Boy level of the top sim developers.

Watching you guys have made me want to get into using a racing wheel. I'm expecting to get GT5 this November and I was curious if a racing wheel would actually improve your lap times in a game that, as you guys mentioned is inbetween a racing sim and just a "fun" type of game. Anyways, love the show!

@PhRiZoN the lap times would be pretty close but I would say it depends on the game, but I would give a controller the edge on a game like GT5. Think about changing direction on a wheel, it takes a slight amount of time more than going from left to right etc on a controller. But I would say to recommend a wheel anyways because it is more immersive and a million times more fun! also you can get one that will also work with your PC which is where the more "hardcore" sims are. hope that helps

Great show! Cannot wait for F1 2010 and the coverage that Andreas gave from Gamescom was spot on. He seemed to ask a lot of great questions and did not seem nervous at all on camera. The bloopers were a nice touch too!

Darin, you are quite the gentleman driver. Racing, even sim racing, can be brutal, but it's nice to see someone who wants a clean win. But, I think it cost you the race! Still, very nice to see.

A couple of things to note regarding F1 2010

(1) there is no DX 11 support in pc version

(2) you cannot adjust brake balance while racing

(3)the new suspension update was always in the game,but was removed and then brought back.

All points can be verified on f1 forums

Not sure if you can believe anything these devs tell or imply by omission to an interviewer.

hi guys, got a question: Recently you recommended me of buying the Fanatec Porsche Carrera wheel ($ 159.99), but I just found out that the carrera wheel is not on the list of compatible wheels for F1 2010 (PS3). I'm very confused because I want this game and also dont want compatibility issues with other games....

hmm...I don't really know what to think about F1 2010. I didn't like the previous one because it was impossible to play with a controller. Graphics were good, I love the rain effects but the demo didn't persuade me to buy this game. Will there be a demo for F1 2010?
