  • They should play this song more often

  • Pure, raw, fuckin hot!

  • Why did Tom Zutatut slam this performance in "The Rise and Rise of Motley Crue" and then say in the Dirt that he went to Vince's trailer to congratulate him after? I think the Crue sounds good, especially in this song.

  • Dude! Send me a DVD! Looks great! Well done!

  • motley kick ass despite the awful sound system, and their very first major concert,oh yeah in front of 300,000 metal fans

  • Man, I was 12 years old when I went to this.

  • @anubiscainerosu Same here dude. It's really annoying that if you want a headstock like that you've got to buy a Custom Shop...

  • Pre wireless days!!

  • @Starsky328 - Like Mr. Guitar God said, but most people think of it as "Phantom of the Opera".... A band I was in had a keyboard player that did that before we played "Blue Collar Man" by Styx, back in the day...

  • Awesome, a shame of the bad sound installation

  • now THIS is how you start a show!!! Greatest beginning to a concert I've ever seen. I've watched :35-:55 about 20 times in a row.

Early 80s Crue HAS to be considered one of the greatest band ever.

  • does anybody else notice at 2:05 ish Vince's cod piece just comes off? XD

  • @ERINONBROADWAY HAHA wow that's fuckin' hilarious

  • This song, old but still singing my heart out..

  • Man I have seen motley crue in concert one time back in 99'. And they where awesome. But to go back in the day and see them when they were still young. And the metal scene hot. And at a concert this huge..... WOW. That would be bad ass. And where in the god lord did you get this at?

    Umm... It's been 27 years

  • @LATrash90210 You were at the US Festival?! How was it? Was it loud?

  • @AngelofAnguish hey man how's it going? Yea it was loud. But that was'nt it. It was more than a west coast woodstock. It makes me crazy to think about the NO talants that are making it big today. The day the music died.

  • @LATrash90210 In my opinion, Ozzfest "pales in comparison" to the US Festival!

  • @LATrash90210 im guessing youve never won any maths awards?

  • tommy is so fuckin crazy!

  • duct bass playing do you know what that is whne the drummer hits the bass drum it hits the bass chord no matter if the bass player is on or not

  • This is the cleanest footage I've ever seen from this show. Thanks for posting it.

  • Mötley Crüe Forever..........

  • Nikki SIxx is fuckin fine!<3

  • Too bad I was only 7 during these concerts because I would have sooo gone to all of them! No decade will measure up to the 80s thats for sure

  • yea me too! although i wasnt even born for another 5 years after the concert lol

  • I hate to say this, but Motley Crue was definately not at their best that day. I blame the sound men. Quiet Riot ruled the genre at he fest.

  • agreed. thats also partly due to this being right after Quiet Riot became the 1st heavy metal band in history to be #1 on the billboard charts. so the crowd was going NUTS! and in Crues book, vince said they were all coked out of their minds hahaha

  • Rowdy. lol

    We were all so high...

  • 3:58 mick look at these trippers hahahahahaha

  • Motley CRUE REALLY REALLY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • VINCE NEIL IS THE HOTTEST!!

  • long LIVE motley crue.

  • can i by this on dvd?

  • Relatively unknown? Motley Crue was huge in L.A by this point. Hottest new back in California behind Van Halen. Quiet Riot had a #1 selling album and they still took stage before Motely Crue. Shows how much popularity Motley Crue had. And this was around 4 months before the Shout album came out, not 2 weeks.

Non the less great video, I have it myself.

  • This is SATD.

Look at the uniforms, and equipment. STFU

  • Why are you telling me to STFU? I wasn't saying anything bad about the band. I fuckin love them, I know almost everything about them.

They were going into the SATD era. It's not considered an era until the album is released. This was 4 months before, which is still far away. I mean a bunch of their SATD songs were still in demo form.

If you search about the Crue's tour history dating back to 1981. You would know that this show is still considered Too Fast For Love era.

  • The funny thing is, is that this isn't 81. This is 83. This is completely Shout At the Devil, which if you would listen to the rest of the concert, they play a ton of satd songs.

  • I have the show on DVD and its one of my most watched shows. I know all about it, I even have interview from it also.

They dressed like this and played the demos of some SATD songs, to show the people what was coming up from them.

This was a preview of what they would be in another 4 months. I'm not saying its 100% too fast for love, its more like a short transition period. Just saying technically it still too fast for love. At least until November 1983 when they started the SATD tour.

  • Relatively unknown outside of LA. This event was May '83. Although they played a few songs from SOTD, it was not released until Sept '83. After that, they did the Ozzy Bark at the Moon tour (when I first saw them), the rest is history.

  • sixx for life

  • nikki sixx is fuckin perfection.

  • This is the Concert that set the CRUE in Motion to take Hollywood and the world by Storm and never look back

  • What's the name of the introduction? =D

  • Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach

  • great song but the voice hears something low, very good song, long life to motley crue
