Why did Tom Zutatut slam this performance in "The Rise and Rise of Motley Crue" and then say in the Dirt that he went to Vince's trailer to congratulate him after? I think the Crue sounds good, especially in this song.
Why does the critics say that Mötley did a lousy consert here? I think it fucking rocks! Not to mention, it's Mötley in their right element: drunk, jacked upp and rocking like there's no tomorrow! METAL!!!
@anubiscainerosu That's a BC Rich Warlock bass. Back then they used to have those headstocks on them, nowadays they've got Gunslinger headstocks on them.
@Starsky328 - Like Mr. Guitar God said, but most people think of it as "Phantom of the Opera".... A band I was in had a keyboard player that did that before we played "Blue Collar Man" by Styx, back in the day...
u were spoilt LATrash90210, spoilt, spoilt, SPOILT!!! Im soooo jealous! But unfortunately I was being born that year! I wish Id been a 70's child instead of 80's!
Man I have seen motley crue in concert one time back in 99'. And they where awesome. But to go back in the day and see them when they were still young. And the metal scene hot. And at a concert this huge..... WOW. That would be bad ass. And where in the god lord did you get this at?
dude you say MCR is better why do you think they are called MCR its because they called their group aftar motle crue u dumbass MCR stands for MOTLEY CRUE ROCKS hahahahah you dont mess with the crue you just messed with the wrong band dude dont be saying stupid shit because your the one that gets dogged back? am i clear
OMG! I was pulled out of the crowd when I passed out. It was so freakin hot that day..I remember later on they used fire hoses to hose down the audience..I wonder if that's me being pulled out, I was so messed up already and they were only the 2nd band up.....I think QR was first.
Wow.....what memories....thanx for the great video!
@AngelofAnguish hey man how's it going? Yea it was loud. But that was'nt it. It was more than a west coast woodstock. It makes me crazy to think about the NO talants that are making it big today. The day the music died.
@bsouthe mick has a rare bone disease that is keeping him from moving..if u ask me...he is STILL THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER!!!CRUE FAN FOR LIFE!!!ROCK ON!!
agreed. thats also partly due to this being right after Quiet Riot became the 1st heavy metal band in history to be #1 on the billboard charts. so the crowd was going NUTS! and in Crues book, vince said they were all coked out of their minds hahaha
Relatively unknown? Motley Crue was huge in L.A by this point. Hottest new back in California behind Van Halen. Quiet Riot had a #1 selling album and they still took stage before Motely Crue. Shows how much popularity Motley Crue had. And this was around 4 months before the Shout album came out, not 2 weeks.
Why are you telling me to STFU? I wasn't saying anything bad about the band. I fuckin love them, I know almost everything about them.
They were going into the SATD era. It's not considered an era until the album is released. This was 4 months before, which is still far away. I mean a bunch of their SATD songs were still in demo form.
If you search about the Crue's tour history dating back to 1981. You would know that this show is still considered Too Fast For Love era.
The funny thing is, is that this isn't 81. This is 83. This is completely Shout At the Devil, which if you would listen to the rest of the concert, they play a ton of satd songs.
I have the show on DVD and its one of my most watched shows. I know all about it, I even have interview from it also.
They dressed like this and played the demos of some SATD songs, to show the people what was coming up from them.
This was a preview of what they would be in another 4 months. I'm not saying its 100% too fast for love, its more like a short transition period. Just saying technically it still too fast for love. At least until November 1983 when they started the SATD tour.
Relatively unknown outside of LA. This event was May '83. Although they played a few songs from SOTD, it was not released until Sept '83. After that, they did the Ozzy Bark at the Moon tour (when I first saw them), the rest is history.
have this on DVD its soooo fucking epic!!!!!!
