Wow! I just noticed myself that the second half of the video with the EX1R was 4:3! Good eyes. I am not sure why that happened. Probably a slip up on our part when we made it. There is no reason why it should or needs to be 4:3. It should have been 16:9 as was the first part of the video with the EX1. Thanks for catching that.
I have an EX3 and use the Tiffen T1 IR filter to good effect. It's an affordable solution for the early cameras. You do lose about 1 stop of light though. I also white balance using 1/2 Blue Warm card and this seems to get the best result for the sony camera.
