  • sounds like your cab may have Celstion T75S possibly

  • @JOSHroolzd00d don't know what's the name of the cab, wasn't mine

  • looking at other comments, can someone clarify if this is a class A or a class A/B amp...

  • @c0d3x5 it can switch from a to a/b to solid state(little nob on the back that lets u do it)

  • Comment removed

  • where do you buy this amp, i cant find it?

  • @coreyd79 It isn't made anymore-with good reason from my experience with it. There is a reason they go for under $300 on ebay.

  • @LethalxBeats so wahts a good amp to get for 1000 or under, with tons of gain and a good clean channel?

  • is it good for hardcore/metal.

Is the tone good to a live audience?

Is it versatile- wide variety of distortion tones?

    can in go loud?

  • @1headbanger yeah, I would say that it is good for metal; never played it live; I think it is pretty versatile; yeah, it gets loud enough

  • @1headbanger its 100 watts.

it only wont be loud enough if your playing download fest or something

  • i wanna know more about the edwards esp guitar!! how you like it compared to esp eclipses and gibson lp's? good quality?

  • is the ATX-100 pretty much the same thing? or have they made modifications? if anyone knows about it please give me a little more info on it, thanks

  • @1201zj the atx is the at-100 but no triple rectifier. i bought it, and i play tool style music. the only problem with the atx-100 is that, on the gain channel, i can have the gain at 9:00, and i still feedback at low volume. its aggrivating. so now somebody help ME!!!!

  • @CriusGuitarist23 Perhaps microphonic tubes. Has it been dropped or roughly handled? Does it have original tubes in it? It could also be your guitar's Pups or the room you are in. I'd start with the tubes since most amps come from the factory with crappy tubes in them anyways. Your amp will sound 10x better with some new better quality tubes in it.

  • dude i love that guitar!!!!

  • Great guitar, but painfully generic sounding amp. Maybe it's the way you recorded it, but that amp sounds dull, lifeless and boring.

  • @mattsmith0209 dude sooooooo not generic sounding.. ive been playin almost 20 yrs now and i LOVE this head.. it smoked the shit out of any marshall i have owned. and honestly i think it compares pretty well to any mesa ive ever played. for the money this amp is freekin awesome!

  • @mattsmith0209 he didnt have the reverb goin, and only played on one setting. try playin one of these if you can get your hands on one. they are so versatile its insane.

  • Nice amp you got there and the edwards lp sound awesome. I have the edwards lp with emg pickups :D cool guitar

  • poor mans mesa apparantly

  • @binladensassassin

pretty much but not everyone can afford 3000$ for a stack

  • look at this happy nigga' hahahhaa

  • I own a B52 at 100 and the tubes are just fine my friend its all still in use with tubes straight fromt he factory. I have to say though the gain doesn't have a true raw tone unless you raise the volume passed half-way, the clean tone is nice very RHCP sounding. The gain is great too but i use a Boss G8 with a DS to get a nice Petrucci Crunch

  • if I'm not mistaken, class A runs on higher voltage than A/B but I dunno if it has anything to do with excessive heat..

  • ive been reading some comments about heat, if you run at class A, it will get hot as hell, class AB not so much and here's for brownie points: anyone know why? i heard it was because in AB, the (4) power tubes are not constantly (firing) like they are in A

  • Class A runs continuously and all power tubes operate at full voltage and power during the whole time the amp is on except for standby. That's why the tubes run hotter and their lifespan will be reduced. Class AB is a switching design where some of the tubes are operating and the other set of tubes are not operating at full. This design runs cooler and is kinder to the tubes. There is a difference in tone that results from the power section being different but not as drastic as from preamp stage

  • THAT IS A NICE AMP. Does it come with a footswitch?

  • yup

  • does anybody know what an edwards is...is it like an esp?

  • esp owns edwards, they are made in japan

    high quality stuff

  • my b52 is home grown right here in the states! its awesome! with a decent cabinet, i would take it over a high end head no joke! some guy made a comment about replacing tubes, that is a must, get that russian and chinese shit out of there, i opted for groove tubes baby! loud and thunderous like a chainsaw

  • Groove tubes are chinese or russian.. they dont make the tubes, they buy them from russia and china and put their logo on them. What they do a great job of is picking out the best matched pairs and indivisual tubes.

  • re: "Groove tubes are chinese or russian.. they dont make the tubes"

They have a line of USA-made Groove Tubes which they build on authentic GE/RCA machines which they purchased when GE was selling off its production line in the early 90s I believe.

  • While they are assembled in America, all of the parts in a B-52 are Chinese. It is a great amp, and I enjoyed mine while it lasted. But it is by no means better than a high end boutique amp.

  • have one for sale rite now on ebay for 330 with new tubes!

  • LOL I JUST BOUGHT YER ITEM !!! HAHA

but i dont think i'm getting the bbe sonic thingy,,

  • you should get my ibanez on ebay for 275 then :)

  • @bmxman37 is it gone?

  • I have the same thing.. at-100 and a Marshall 4x12 (four Celestion v30s).. it sounds like sex.

  • whats better for metallikca and heavier metal... this or a bugera 333xl

  • i think its a personal preference thing. if you change out the stock tubes in a b52 to like jj's or something they sound incredible. they have a horrible track record when it comes to dependability though. as for the bugera, i think they sound similar but maybe a bit more metally...but remember the bugera is made by behringer which has a reputation for making cheap stuff as well. play em both and decide. but i would save up and buy a mesa, or a 6505+, or a marshall. would pay off in the long run

  • never mind.. i got a genz benz el diablo 100 with 212 g flex... im trying to go non-china-made stuff and im sure that the b-52 is made in china... thanks tho..oh yah and for some reason i can use the 6505 for crap... couldn't find the gain knob

  • the 6505 has two main volume knobs, pre and post. the pre is like a gain knob and post is like volume

  • I think bugera has a worse rep. for reliability than b-52. I think the problem with b-52 was overheating and i heard they fixed that.

  • get a carvin v3... it's worth the money and you will not regret it....

  • I had one of those up until recently. Good sound, but I'm saving for a Splawn \m/.

Now that I listen to that amp, it sounds less like Mesa and more like some 80's Marshall kind of stuff.

  • wow man, I have clearly overlooked these amps, sexy sexy sound =]

  • nice edward's lp

  • what is that chup chup sound when you hit strings hard on clean channel?

  • its the mic it cant take the volum of the amp or something lol sorry for spelling............

  • what kind of Marshall cab are you using?

  • kick ass guitar dude

  • great video, but you can pump alot more gain out of this.

    check out my videos!

  • DUDE!!!! B-52 owes you money.

You just sold me this amp

  • Nice guitar ;)

  • the crunch on the OD channel is sexy lol i did not know wha amp to get, either this or the peavey triple xxx. i needed an amp with a good crunch to play that 'kill em all' metallica sound. and yu just sold me this one. thanks man

  • try to find a jcm900 from the early 90s

  • Great PH's with such low gain.

  • i have the same set up. except i have a sonic maximizer in the effects loop. whats your settings for the gain channel?

  • sorry mate, but this is my buddy's amp, not mine, and i really don't remember the settings we used. Good luck!
