the left site on a german highway is battle, because this one is absolutly normal, you drive to slow, because the vw Touran drive max 130 KmH an not faster. Heartly welcome in Germany ;)

Ok, it takes you ~2s to pass the street poles on the left side. That means you drive 50/2*3.6= 90kmh. The guy behind you pulls on the left lane ~40m behind you and overtakes with maybe 130kmh. Were is the crazy part? That´s school-book like driving and perfectly safe!

lol it's funny to see how everyone, also people who don't even live in germany tell him to go faster. let him go as slow as he wants, driving fast is something that has to be learned. in germany we pay mostly more than 1000€ to get a license, we also learn how to drive on the autobahn. i'm kinda proud that he didn't act like many other "speed tourists" do and hit the pedal to the floor like a complete moron.

It´s not about the price, of course. The quality of the training is high, and I guess it is in other european countries as well. On average, people need 26h of practical driving lessons and the same amount of theory lessons to get the license. In some non-euro countries the pay something like a 10 buck fee and drive (literally) 5 minutes around the block to get a license. I´m pretty sure our way is more safe. ;-)

I basically know how to drive in the autobahn alot better than most people that just visit germany now and then. There are times when 250 km/h isn't dangerous, and times when only the stupid would be speeding.

@massbehavior Well in Germany we make sure that only if you are really trained you get the license for driving.

And that training includs driving on the Autobahn with high speed.

Also we in Germany really pay attention to the street and even more if we are driving at so high speeds.

It worked for a very long time now and other countrys with more speed limits have sometimes even higher accidents rates (in %) than Germany.

First of all : it's not like he's putting flames on the track, now is he ? He's hardly doin' 150-160 kph. The car he's overtaking is maybe doing 100-110 kph at most.

Secondly : not all highways in Germany allow you to drive max speed. A lot of places have a max of 100 or 120, even in the fast lane. And if you have an accident on the fast lane where there is no limit, you're not insured. So, not all of Germany is free for speeding. But it's great to be able too.

in germany you allways have to use the right lane- the left or middle is just for overtaking... most of the autobahns have speedlimits 120 or 130 km/h - the other have an advisory speed limit (130 km/h)

The crazy thing is to drive so bloody slowly. Recommended speed on the Autobahn is 130 kph. And if the road wasn't as free as is was in this vid, you also need to watch out not to get in anyones way, because hampering somebody is actually a petty offense... Means: You should never be much slower than 130kph, or you can just go 80kph and drive along with the trucks on the right lane...

He drove in the right lane in relation to his speed. He did not do anything wrong. The driver that overtook him was way to close when he switched lanes. He did what, 160 km/h when he overtook him and was 30 metres behind when he switched to the left lane. Too close.

Blubbel is right, the van overtook you because you were driving too slow. visual analysis says you were probably doing about between 60-90 Km/h..
