Shiina Ringo is hands down my favorite artist. In the vast majority of the songs she writes, only she could possibly sing them in the right way.

But, to be honest, I don't think her voice was right for this. I can imagine how I'd want this song sung in my head, and I think it would go best with a more orthodox jazz singer. A lot of what Shiina sings is definitely influenced by jazz (her Tokyo Jihen stuff), but those songs were more clearly written for her voice specifically.
