The revolutionaries-independantists were a small minority. They won in the end, and rewrote history to establish their political dictatorship. I am not defending France here, only defending the historical truth. Remember that hundred of thousands of Algerian muslims were on the French side, and were either killed or forced to emigrate in 1962.

AFAIK, some 800,000 Turkish soldiers died (most of them of disease) in WW1 –– which is only half of the French or Russian losses. Of course you can reach the figure of 3 million casualties if you add the civilians who died of disease, plus 1,5 million Armenians massacred by the Turks…

The revolutionaries-independantists were a small minority. They won in the end, and rewrote history to establish their political dictatorship. I am not defending France here, only defending the historical truth. Remember that hundred of thousands of Algerian muslims were on the French side, and were either killed or forced to emigrate in 1962.

AFAIK, some 800,000 Turkish soldiers died (most of them of disease) in WW1 –– which is only half of the French or Russian losses. Of course you can reach the figure of 3 million casualties if you add the civilians who died of disease, plus 1,5 million Armenians massacred by the Turks…

The Algerians didn't have civil rights (like Black people in the USA before the 1960s), they have been colonized, there were collateral damages during the Algerian war, but 1,5 millions of Algerians murdered by the French is a fucking joke.
Of course you don't know that the majority of the Algerians fought for France and most of the massacres have been commited by the FLN against the pro-french algerians after the independance.
