  • not sure bout the 270 but try the barnes bullets against that plate iv shot them through 1.5 inches of steel with 180 gr barnes ttsx bullets outa my 300 win mag

  • I want this and a remington 700 in 30-06

  • never mine i caught u said it

  • the .270 is .277 in diameter not .270

  • I have this rifle in 7mm Rem mag but it has a button on the side drop the mag.

  • hey is your bolt sticky? i have to use my thumb on my scope to pry my bolt open after each shot please help i have a savage 111f 30-06

  • the 270 win is resposible for the 270win's success. O'conner just kept writing about it because he liked that round so much.

  • The mag holds three shells for magnum calibers such as 300 win mag or 7mm rem mag.

  • looked like the guy with the pistol was going to shoot the other guy @ 5:02

  • is this better than the savage axis cause im either getting one of the two rifles

  • what does it weight with the scope i doubt its actually 6.5 lbs with that

  • my 30-06 hold 4 with 1 in the chamber

  • Chuck Norris can make it hold 6 :)

  • My 111 in 30-06 holds 4 in the mag.

  • execution at 5 minutes in

  • what do you think of the 116fhss 7mm mag

  • wheres your satchel allen?..great movie btw

  • hey fred, is it easy to load this through the top, even with the detachable mag. Please respond.

  • @Firearms4Canada I never tried to load the whole mag through the top but putting one in and chambering it was no problem.

  • @Firearms4Canada

Yes you can load the whole mag easily through the top. I have the 30-06, which does indeed hold only 3 rounds as mentioned. I rarely remove the mag except for cleaning.

  • @DeadeyeLefty thanks a ton man!

  • @Firearms4Canada it is very easy to load thru the top.

  • i have this in 300 win mag, and that only holds 3 rounds.

  • was this pretty accurate out of the box?

  • Great video

  • 5:15 that was quite a flinch on the last trigger pull. you should work on that.

  • Didnt mean to hit enter, i wanted a detachable magazine but the only savage i could get is a top loading savage 111. Mrhotrod68 if you read this, im 14 and have the savage 111

  • @HopliteAlex I thought this rifle only came with a detachable box type magazine. Either way, this is a great rifle and I'm sure it will serve you well. Have a very Happy New Year!

  • I wanted a detachab

  • would you reccomend this gun to a 14 year old hes kinda of a big boy

  • @MrHotrod68 yes, with the correct training and you should work him up to the caliber. Don't just give this to him without first shooting a .22, then a .223 or something else in between. The .270 still has some kick, especially when sitting on the bench unless you have a weighted rest.

  • @MrHotrod68 try standing up shooting first too

  • what is the name of the song at the end?

  • Don't let those politicians there overregulate the industry.

  • The 30-06 version holds 4 as well. The .270 is the same as the 30-06 just necked down to .277 as you stated in the video.

  • also how is the factory scope and mounting hardware on it? would you recommend it in the 30-06 caliber?

  • @Metal1Food1MS The scope was mounted well and it has held up for years. The 30-06 is an outstanding choice but it really comes down to the intended purpose.

  • is there a huge difference between the savage 111fxcp3 and the savage 111fxp3?

  • @Metal1Food1MS The 111 fxcp3 is a cheaper model

  • @fredhart why is it cheaper? what makes the fxp3 more exspensive, because im thinking about purchasing one and cant find the difference

  • Thanks for the great review. I just bought a Savage 111. Cant wait to get it.

  • hey im getting this same model in the 30-06. Am i making a good choice?

  • @Slicwic117

yes you are. i have a video of me taking my moose with that gun. 240 yards....

  • I didn't like the feel of the R770 or the bolt in the Mossberg 4X4. The Savage 111 I have (which is just like this one) has a nice feel and a smooth bolt. It has a very heavy trigger, but I am used to heavy trigger pulls, so it works well for me. I would recommend the Savage 111 FCXP3 to any beginner hunter or marksman, because of the great package deal and solid Savage construction.

  • Hahaha I loved the ending. That's great stuff. Some things were terrible back then, but some things were fantastic too.

  • the 30-06 will hold 4 only the magnum calabers hold 3

  • they will hold 5! give it a try, kinda have to stuff the last 1 in there but it will work

  • i just bought the .300 win mag version of this rifle.... i think it is awsome but should of bought a smaller cal for my first rifle....lol

  • very detailed video and good filming

    I'm subscribing : )

  • nice vid. i was considering a remington 770 or a savage 111, and now i'm leaning towards the savage. but now i got to decide between cailbers. 30-06 or 7mm mag. what do you think would be best. i'm getting it for a deer hunting rifle

  • I have the Remington Model 710 the older version of the 770.

Don't bother looking up reviews for the 770 because most all come from people that dont own or have ever shot one

the bolt on my 710 was a little sticky but it loosened right up with a little RemOIL

but the savages are nice and shoot good

as for calibers it depends on what you want to hunt .30-06 has cheaper ammo/wider range of ammo - 7MM has more power

  • thanks. i was going to go ahead and get the savage at dicks yesterday but i walked into a small gun shop and saw a 770 30-06 with a nice simmons scope, sling, and hard case for $330. I couldn't pass it up. I'm going to sight it in and have some fun tomorrow.

  • u should get the savage better for ur money for deer a 30-06 is good in my avdice

  • i have the savage 111 in 7mm mag it a alsome gun very flat shooting

  • do not get the model 770 it is the worst fucking gun in the world...do not buy it i have 1 an absolutely hate it

  • @matteveretts Both the calibres would be good for deer hunting. I hunt deer with .270; but my brother-in-law uses 30-06 and it works phenominally for him.

  • Nice flinch at 5:15, might work on that. Not a bad vid though.

  • Good review! And fabulous channel, congratulations

  • Thank you for the wonderful comment!

  • Woah, I have a serious question, at 5:01 in the video the guy with the Pistol is back behing the firing line and well behind the Rifle Shooters and he raises the gun to, it seems, to fire the Pistol and then drops the Pistol and steps up to the line, even with the shooters.

Do you know if he had a brain fart and caught himself or what was he doing?

    Do you know this guy?

Oh, that is a bad ass steel plate you shot with the .270, where can you get those Steel targets from?

  • Funny, You are correct, I'm from the Bronx.

  • Hah, I got lucky on the New Yawk part, I would have figured you from being from the Midwest but not from the Bronx.

I subscribed to your videos so keep up the good work

    Thanks

  • Oh, to answer your other question, yes he caught himself, I do know him, he is a good friend. He is very safe with gun handling and has a LOT of special forces training. Is what he did wrong? Yes, and it's good you pointed it it out for others to understand :) Thank you!

  • Mr Hart

Your friend was ok, he didn't shoot while lagging behind the firing line, what kind of Pistol was he shooting?

I have a question for you, what State are you from?

Did you get the 270 For deer or "Just in Case"?

It is a flat shooting caliber and packs a wallop but I guess any Bullet "Packs a Wallop" if you are on the wrong end of the Flight Path ; )

That Steel target in the video, can you get these targets on the Internet or was it a home made target?

  • I'm in the socialist state of Maryland and hope to defect one day:) I don't hunt, I just enjoy shooting and learning about the history of firearms as well as their design. The steel plate was given to me and I doubt there are any like it for sale. Again, thank you so much for your interest in my videos and channel. It makes me feel that I am providing some of my limited knowledge of firearms as well as being entertaining, I think . . .

  • At 1:56 in the Video, when you said the late Jack Oconnah er Oconnor, did you break into a Bahstan or New Yawk accent?

Good Video and the Savage looks like a pretty good Rifle

  • Great review and vey professionally made video. 5 stars!

  • we need to bring back machine guns...great vid

  • Yep ZERO! Great review man!

    Five Stars!

  • Savage makes a good rifle, about equal to a Remington 700 in how well their made and shoot while costing less. It will also hold 4 rounds of .30-06 in the same magazine.

  • Your vids are so good. That .270 is a great round. Thanks. 5*s.
