  • I know that Reece's has bags of chocolate chip style peanut butter cups. If i were to add these to a cheesecake, would i add them to the mixture or put them in layers when filling up the pan?

    Thank you!

  • @justinbltn I think it would be better for them to be random, so I would mix them with the cheesecake mixture before putting it in the pan.

    --Betty :)

  • hello betty, can i use evaporated milk instead of sour cream to make it creamier and not sour?

  • @MommyNiMatty Yes, evaporated milk should work fine--vanilla yogurt would work well, also.

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen thank you for your reply and suggestion. would like to use vanilla yogurt but its not available here in our place and the evaporated milk is cheaper than the yogurt :) we'll try the recipe...thanks again.

  • Hi Betty! I love yours recepies and I really want try doing your cheesecake. My issue is that where I live, in Italy, is really difficult to find sour cream. Do you know how can I substitue this ingredient? Thanks :)

  • @czfreccina88 You may substitute yogurt in place of the sour cream. The cheesecake will be very good.

    --Betty :)

  • This looks so good! I like the fact that you used less calories. Now I know why you do not put the graham crackers on the sides of the pan. I would love to make this if I had a good oven.

  • @rocquesbiz Thanks for your sweet comment! I hope you will be able to try out this recipe someday!

    --Betty :)

  • Good camera work too!

  • @StandUpVengeance Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • Oh Betty, you have some taste woman, the cake, the topping, the coffee in the final shot, I just want to live at your place. Or maybe become your kitchen slave for a night.

  • @ShutTFup Thanks for your sweet comment! I really enjoy entertaining!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty.

I had a question. I don't have any graham cracker crumbs where I live. I was wondering if I could substitute anything for this. Could I maybe make my crust using the method you used in one of your tips for pie crust? but maybe just add more butter.

    Please help me.

    Thanks

  • @shes4hoursback Yes, that would be fine. Any kind of crust will work; you just need a base for the cheesecake.

    --Betty :)

  • hi betty. Just wanted to let you know i have tried your recipe for this cheesecake about 10 times and they have all been huge hits. i am actually going to school to become a savory chef. My sister is a grade school teacher, and she always gets me to make this cheesecake for herself and her fellow teachers-even though i am not going to be a pastry chef. They All love it: they always want more, and i just wanted to let you know because you deserve the credit for it. Thank you for this recipe

  • @cedward1984 Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I am delighted that all of you like the cheesecake!

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty! How come my crust always comes out wet? It's sucks when it comes out wet! :( thanks

  • @CutePrincess05 If it comes out wet, you have added too much water; it will need extra flour.

    --Betty :)

  • that look good

  • @aliciahot1996 Thanks, I'm glad you like the looks of the cheesecake!

    --Betty :)

  • This looks really good :)

  • @bgoodrick Thanks!

    --Betty :)

  • This looks kindaa good , ?

  • @LipsLikeSugarxo1 It is really good!

    --Betty :)

  • it collapsed

  • @krztofa I don't know what would cause that; it doesn't really "rise" enough to fall.

    --Betty :)

  • Hello Betty,

I'm going to try to make this cheesecake, but i wanted to reduce half amount of the ingredients. Will the time taken to bake this cheesecake will be the same? and by the way will it worked if I use a cake tin that has the same function as a tart tin?(I don't know how to explain, I rarely speaks english) thanks

    Xie.Malaysia.

  • @anithfanz You can make half of the recipe, but it will be done in much less time, so you need to watch it carefully. You may use a tart tin for baking.

    --Betty :)

  • I tried this recipe and brought the cake to work, everybody just loved it!!!! Thank you soooo much!

    Xin from china

  • @hexin912 Thanks for your lovely feedback! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • sorry, i used soft cheese maybe that`s the problem, i thought it`s the same......thank`s!!!

  • Hi betty, i`ve done this recipe many times but i always end up with crack of the cake, not flat and very brown. can you pls tell me why. Thanks!!!

  • @mjlondon09 You can bake your cheesecake at a lower temperature or set it in a pan of water while it bakes to prevent the cracks.

    --Betty :)

  • amazing recipe and beautifully presented. i love the tiny details you give in your videos.

  • Betty, your such a wonderful person and cook:) I love ALL of your videos! take care!

  • My friend just had a baby and she wants some cake. I'm going to make this for her. Get it? Labor Day Cheesecake? I guess there can be two kinds of labour days, lol. Well, she had a C-section, but it was still labour! ;) It's a girl, they named her Clara, which I think is a lovely, classic name...I haven't heard it used in a long time.

  • @jenzeppelin A Labor Day Cheesecake is a wonderful idea! I like the name Clara, too!

    --Betty :)

  • @bettyskitchen As an afterthought, I wonder how many women have gone into labour on Labor Day! ;) :) :)

  • THanks betty!

  • hi, would it be okay if to put some the gram cracker crust on the top after u have added the cheesecake filling, would that turn out good. THANKS!

  • @animekatful Yes, I think that would be great!

    --Betty :)

  • You're not a Republican...are you?

  • @ShaftInAfrica920 Umm...no.

    --Betty :)

  • @ShaftInAfrica920 So yeah.. I fail to make the connection from your question to a cheese cake video o.0

  • I was wondering did u have any recipes for sweet potato cheese cake,if u dont I still love u and ur recipes

  • @ChyenneMoonlight That's something I have never made; I will research it a bit and possibly try it.

  • Am just transcribing the recipe and have a qucik question - I'm from the UK, when you talk about the temperature of the oven, are you talking degrees Centigrade (Celsius) or Fahrenheit? Thanks! (P.S. Love cheesecake, love Cherry Pie, so this recipe is HEAVEN for me!)

  • @billydeeuk lol i can help you with that, its Fahrenheit :)

  • @billydeeuk Yes, it's Fahrenheit. Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Great recipie....but you dont look old enough to have a grandson!

  • Hi, thank you for your lovely cooking

  • i baked this last night. its amazing. but i did add 3 teaspoons of vanilla. this is going to be my new recipe for when i have company over.. thanks betty

  • Thanks for sharing that with us, we enjoyed watching it.

    From Melbourne Australia

  • You are adorable Betty! Love your accent. Thanks for the videos!

  • Oh, I can't wait to try this one! I absolutely love cheesecake, but I rarely treat myself to it due to the high fat and calories that it usually contains. I've been looking for a good lowfat version, so I'm extremely happy that you've uploaded this!

  • @DeeFrootloop I hope you had the opportunity to try the cheesecake! Thanks for your lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • oh my that looks soooo good

cheesecake is definitely my fav desert

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope you enjoy this recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Hey Betty! I was surfting youtube for recipe and I came across some of your mouth watering recipe that known one could ever stop thinking about. make this for this sometime soon. Thanks for inspiring me once again! Keep up the good job.

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I hope you find a lot of recipes that you like!

    --Betty :)

  • what could i put instead of the eggs

  • You could use eggbeaters (egg substitute), unless that is something you want to avoid, also.

    --Betty :)

  • Hello Betty, I absolutely love your videos. My Mom was from Kentucky and you cook just like her. Did you put any vanilla in this cheesecake, or was it just plain.

Thank you and have a wonderful day

  • Thanks for your lovely comment! I added 1 tablespoon vanilla. If you click "more info" you will see the full recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • if i buy the pie crust how much should i use for the filling?? help! plz

  • The pie crust will not hold the enitre cheesecake. Make a complete recipe of the filling, and pour it almost to the top. (It will rise a little bit. The filling that you have left over can be poured into an oven-proof dish and baked alongside your cheesecake pie--It will be delicious, as well (and with fewer calories!).

    --Betty :)

  • Good day Mrs. Betty,

We just made this today to celebrate the new year.

    It tastes GREAT !!

    Thank you for the recipe.

  • Thanks for your wonderful feedback! I appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • Did u try putting a small cup of water in the oven while baking, from past experiences making other cheesecakes, it makes the cake slightly more moist.

Is the texture of your cake base crisp? My cheesecakes bases are often soft after baking with the batter at the end. i solve that by making the base separately for now. Do u know why is it so?

    Lastly, nice video!

  • I haven't tried baking the cheesecake with water--That sounds like a nice idea! My cheesecake base is not exactly "crisp," but it's not soft or soggy, either. I think it's about right--I don't know what would cause your crust to be soft, but apparently baking the crust separately solves your problem! Thanks for the nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • waw! i love the recipe. will try that out on christmas! my sister's fav! thanks so much

  • I hope the cheesecake turned out great for you! Thanks for the lovely comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Betty you are so hot girl!

  • Thanks for the compliment!

    --Betty :)

  • Can the pan be square?

  • Yes, that is not a problem in baking the cheesecake. It may be harder to serve from the pan, but that should be okay.

    --Betty :)

  • Betsy u r wonderful..thanks so much

  • Thanks so much! I appreciate your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • hello

    can i make this eggless?

  • You would be leaving out 4 eggs, which is pretty significant. I think you could do that, if you will add an extra 2 oz. cream cheese and and extra 1/4 cup sour cream. It won't taste quite the same, but the texture should be good, and you can make up for the difference in taste with the topping of your choice.

    --Betty :)

  • thx it wouldnt really matter to anyone else since only i love cheesecake here :D

  • Hey Betty! That looked really nice and I love how you set it up so wonderfully like that! I think may make this for this Thanksgiving.... Thanks for inspiring me once again!

    -Sharon-

  • Hi Sharon! I'm glad you like the looks of the cheesecake! It will be great for Thanksgiving! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • Do you cook the cheescake in water bath? I see some people do it sometime. Is there really any difference to the cheescake?

  • I don't cook it in a water bath. I don't think it makes a big difference. This cake is wonderful, done by the method I used. I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • Comment removed

  • are you married betty?

  • yes.

  • Well, in one word....WOW!!

    UK Hugs xx

  • You will love it! It really tastes great, and it is fat free except for the crust, and I used a no sugar fruit topping, cutting the calories as much as I could--it still tasted wonderful!

    --Betty :)

  • I don't think the fruit calories are worse than the fat cals from the cheese cake... there is no fat in fruit... i doubt the calories are much of a concern in this recipe... but I am not a dietician!

  • The main source of the calories is the crust--so people who are super conscientious need to eat all but the crust. The rest is very healthy! Thanks for your comment!

  • It looks great :-)

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Great lookin' cheesecake Betty. I love your videos. You take the time out to have everything in order and really organized and very very clean. OH, props to the camera person too, they do an awesome job at capturing everything. keep up th vids. I'm workin on those onion rings tonight YUMM.

    --Betty :)

  • Hi Betty, yes he is thanks, he is sleeping now!i hope you and your family are well!

    Lucy

  • Hi Lucy, Your little boy seems so darling! Thanks for your lovely wish for my family!

    --Betty :)

  • I usually stay up later than 2am Betty, but yesterday i was feeling especially tired. I am glad that your grandson is enjoying his radio toy car, my son is at his grandparent's house at the momment so when we pick him up later on this evening, i will suprise him with it!

  • Hi Lucy! I hope your little boy enjoys his car! Have a beautiful day!

    --Betty :)

  • Looks great Betty! I actually just made a sugar free oreo cheesecake today and the recipe was quite similar to this one. It turned out GREAT and even my friends who normally wouldn't reach for sugar free items really enjoyed it!

  • Thanks! Your Oreo sugar free cheesecake sounds delicious! That's what i'm always trying to do--make substitutions that you would never get at a restaurant, but it reduces the calories so much--and tastes great! Thanks for your tip on the oreo cheesecake!

    --Betty :)

  • Wow. I am hungry now! I have to try this later. I tried your mini cheesecakes and those were great! I am sure this will be as well.

  • I love the topping on the mini cheesecakes; I think the topping sometimes makes a cheesecake really special, so you can play around with toppings you like--but the cheesecake itself is *very* good!!!

    --Betty :)

  • Anyways Betty i will speak to you later, its nearly 2am here, and i am exhausted. I bought my son a radio control car today, i hope he like it when he wakes up in the morning. Send my regards to your family! once again thanks for another superb recipe. Thanks for writing the cooking instructions down! take care for now, Lucy

  • Wow! 2:00 a.m. is really late to still be up! I bet you are really tired. It is such a coincidence that my daughter and son-in-law bought my grandson a radio control car in the past couple of days. They found it at a yard sale for just $1.00, so he was having fun with it today! Thanks for your lovely wishes for my family. I hope your family is well and happy. You are welcome for the recipe! I hope you enjoy it!

    --Betty :)

  • Intesting point that notbuzz made about using all kroger products. In fact my oatmeal is Kroger and i live in Saudi Arabia!i discovered Kroger brand when i first bought oatmeal, and then i came across your channel and saw you using the same brand, i knew then it must be a product from the States! I am missing England Betty, so thanks for this great recipe, it is sure to cheer me up!

  • Hi Lucy,

It's so wonderful to hear from you! I know the foods that I make are not those that are normally served in Saudi Arabia, but with your British background, perhaps some of them are somewhat familiar to you. I am happy if I can remind you of food from home! Have a great day, Lucy!

    --Betty :)

  • looks amazing how did u learn to do all this

did u go to cooking school , i love ur vids!

  • I'm just a home-grown Southern cook, learning at my mother's elbow while I was young, and then reading and researching as I got older. Cooking has always been my greatest hobby! Thanks for your compliment!

    --betty :)

  • look's great !! Hope u had a wonderful labor day

  • Thanks! My day was fine--hope yours was, too! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I love how you use mostly all Kroger brand items. I always buy Food Lion products b/c we no longer have a Kroger :( I have never seen someone make a cheese cake an this looks so good. You look very pretty today . you look GURAT :) in dark colors:)

what did you have to eat from the grill and if you didn't record it I won't get to see what you wear lol :) But i no you may need a break sometimes.

thanks so much for the videos...

happy labor day betty :) hope you had a blast with your family.

  • Hi Ben! Thanks for your compliments on the cheesecake and my clothes! My "kids" didn't arrive until late, and we ended up snacking--deep fried shrimp and deep fried mushrooms. Hint: Next two uploads! We watched our grandson while his parents worked out in our basement, and then we had cheesecake! It was a disorganized day, but we had fun! I had planned to do barbecued chicken breasts. That will come later! I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day!

    --Betty :)

  • Lovely..cake..Also loving that tea cup!

  • Thanks, and thanks, again!

    --Betty :)

  • Just wanted to tell you the non-stick foil that Reynolds came out with is AMAZING. I use it all the time and have yet to have anything stick. You should try it if you haven't yet. It makes life SO much easier. Your the best and thanks for all you do.

  • I will have to try that! It sounds great! I will look for it the next time I go shopping! Thanks so much!!!

    --Betty :)

  • One of the favorite desserts!! About two weeks ago i made the mini cheesecakes that you have posted and they were beyond delicious! This looks wonderful as well and would be great to have when company is over, or anytime for that matter! Thanks, as always! =)

  • You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the mini cheesecakes--I just love the topping on those! This cheesecake is great, too; you just need to pick a topping you like! Thanks for commenting!
