I know that Reece's has bags of chocolate chip style peanut butter cups. If i were to add these to a cheesecake, would i add them to the mixture or put them in layers when filling up the pan?
@bettyskitchen thank you for your reply and suggestion. would like to use vanilla yogurt but its not available here in our place and the evaporated milk is cheaper than the yogurt :) we'll try the recipe...thanks again.
Hi Betty! I love yours recepies and I really want try doing your cheesecake. My issue is that where I live, in Italy, is really difficult to find sour cream. Do you know how can I substitue this ingredient? Thanks :)
This looks so good! I like the fact that you used less calories. Now I know why you do not put the graham crackers on the sides of the pan. I would love to make this if I had a good oven.
Oh Betty, you have some taste woman, the cake, the topping, the coffee in the final shot, I just want to live at your place. Or maybe become your kitchen slave for a night.
I had a question. I don't have any graham cracker crumbs where I live. I was wondering if I could substitute anything for this. Could I maybe make my crust using the method you used in one of your tips for pie crust? but maybe just add more butter.
hi betty. Just wanted to let you know i have tried your recipe for this cheesecake about 10 times and they have all been huge hits. i am actually going to school to become a savory chef. My sister is a grade school teacher, and she always gets me to make this cheesecake for herself and her fellow teachers-even though i am not going to be a pastry chef. They All love it: they always want more, and i just wanted to let you know because you deserve the credit for it. Thank you for this recipe
I'm going to try to make this cheesecake, but i wanted to reduce half amount of the ingredients. Will the time taken to bake this cheesecake will be the same? and by the way will it worked if I use a cake tin that has the same function as a tart tin?(I don't know how to explain, I rarely speaks english) thanks
@anithfanz You can make half of the recipe, but it will be done in much less time, so you need to watch it carefully. You may use a tart tin for baking.
My friend just had a baby and she wants some cake. I'm going to make this for her. Get it? Labor Day Cheesecake? I guess there can be two kinds of labour days, lol. Well, she had a C-section, but it was still labour! ;) It's a girl, they named her Clara, which I think is a lovely, classic name...I haven't heard it used in a long time.
I really like your recipes. I am a big fan of yours, keep up the good work, about this cheese cake...you made a wonderful job explaining step by step how to make it. Thank you..

i baked this last night. its amazing. but i did add 3 teaspoons of vanilla. this is going to be my new recipe for when i have company over.. thanks betty
Oh, I can't wait to try this one! I absolutely love cheesecake, but I rarely treat myself to it due to the high fat and calories that it usually contains. I've been looking for a good lowfat version, so I'm extremely happy that you've uploaded this!
Hey Betty! I was surfting youtube for recipe and I came across some of your mouth watering recipe that known one could ever stop thinking about. make this for this sometime soon. Thanks for inspiring me once again! Keep up the good job.
Hello Betty, I absolutely love your videos. My Mom was from Kentucky and you cook just like her. Did you put any vanilla in this cheesecake, or was it just plain.
The pie crust will not hold the enitre cheesecake. Make a complete recipe of the filling, and pour it almost to the top. (It will rise a little bit. The filling that you have left over can be poured into an oven-proof dish and baked alongside your cheesecake pie--It will be delicious, as well (and with fewer calories!).
Did u try putting a small cup of water in the oven while baking, from past experiences making other cheesecakes, it makes the cake slightly more moist.
Is the texture of your cake base crisp? My cheesecakes bases are often soft after baking with the batter at the end. i solve that by making the base separately for now. Do u know why is it so?
I haven't tried baking the cheesecake with water--That sounds like a nice idea! My cheesecake base is not exactly "crisp," but it's not soft or soggy, either. I think it's about right--I don't know what would cause your crust to be soft, but apparently baking the crust separately solves your problem! Thanks for the nice comment!
You would be leaving out 4 eggs, which is pretty significant. I think you could do that, if you will add an extra 2 oz. cream cheese and and extra 1/4 cup sour cream. It won't taste quite the same, but the texture should be good, and you can make up for the difference in taste with the topping of your choice.
Hey Betty! That looked really nice and I love how you set it up so wonderfully like that! I think may make this for this Thanksgiving.... Thanks for inspiring me once again!
You will love it! It really tastes great, and it is fat free except for the crust, and I used a no sugar fruit topping, cutting the calories as much as I could--it still tasted wonderful!
I don't think the fruit calories are worse than the fat cals from the cheese cake... there is no fat in fruit... i doubt the calories are much of a concern in this recipe... but I am not a dietician!
The main source of the calories is the crust--so people who are super conscientious need to eat all but the crust. The rest is very healthy! Thanks for your comment!

Thanks! Your Oreo sugar free cheesecake sounds delicious! That's what i'm always trying to do--make substitutions that you would never get at a restaurant, but it reduces the calories so much--and tastes great! Thanks for your tip on the oreo cheesecake!
I love the topping on the mini cheesecakes; I think the topping sometimes makes a cheesecake really special, so you can play around with toppings you like--but the cheesecake itself is *very* good!!!
Anyways Betty i will speak to you later, its nearly 2am here, and i am exhausted. I bought my son a radio control car today, i hope he like it when he wakes up in the morning. Wow! 2:00 a.m. is really late to still be up! I bet you are really tired. It is such a coincidence that my daughter and son-in-law bought my grandson a radio control car in the past couple of days. That will come later! I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day!
Just wanted to tell you the non-stick foil that Reynolds came out with is AMAZING. I use it all the time and have yet to have anything stick. You should try it if you haven't yet. It makes life SO much easier. Your the best and thanks for all you do.
One of the favorite desserts!! About two weeks ago i made the mini cheesecakes that you have posted and they were beyond delicious! This looks wonderful as well and would be great to have when company is over, or anytime for that matter! Thanks, as always! =)

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the mini cheesecakes--I just love the topping on those! This cheesecake is great, too; you just need to pick a topping you like! Thanks for commenting!
