The emergence of a major filmic talent, juxtaposing the stylings of film noir with "you've been framed" insouciance, Christmas 2008-Farcet delivers scene after scene of unrelenting tension whilst moving towards a shattering denouement.
The emotional vocabulary remains the film's strength whilst the cinematography skilfully captures the underlying dynamic of the principals' pitch-perfect performances, the "turkey for lunch" sequence being worthy of a Oscar. A triumph and not at all shite.
