  • yeah if we redid this nowadays, they would be wearin a half a sock for clothes and booty dancin. This is just too good to remake. <3 Judy, she is in heaven now and she'll always be remembered:D

  • judy's up in heaven singing and blowing everyone's socks off we all miss you judy

  • i want to be born in 1920 to just meet Judy dear

  • I was definitely born in the wrong time. I need a TARDIS.

  • I love Judy !

    Rest in Peace !

  • I was born at the wrong place during the wrong time

    Where's my time machine?!

  • This is talent. Talent that we will probably never see again. Its so sad that these days you don't have to have any musical talent to be a famous singer.

  • Oh, Judy. You are so wonderful. We love you now.

  • Thumbs up, totally!

  • i was also born in the wrong decade!!!

  • Thank you for posting this.

    Judy was so adorable ♥

Good old times, where is my time machine . . . ;-)

  • <3 She's just too amazing for words

  • LOL, at 1:33

  • Swing Man GO Man Go!

  • Damn! Looks like a miniature KATE SMITH.

Can only imagine what kind of DATE she

    would have been. YEOW! JAILBAIT!

  • It's important to put her "addictions" into context. Most entertainers of her day would be considered by our standards alcoholics. Her and husband Sid Luft went to an AA meeting one day, after a while Judy said "I've had enough of this, let's go out and get a drink!" As for the drugs, until death I don't think she considered herself an addict. But she knew she was desperately dependent on them. Looking back though she WAS addicted, by no fault of her own, it was that damn MGM studio and LBMayer

  • If only rebellion was still this classy...

  • At this point Judy was not getting any medication at M-G-M yet. That came when she and Mickey Rooney were working on high-priced musicals that had to meet firm completion dates and involved long work days and nights. Even then, many people who worked with Garland and Rooney at the time say the whole drugs issue has been stretched out over the years to something much bigger than it ever was. Still, it never should have happened, period.

  • @waynebrasler when the drugs were introduced no one understood what could happen to you in the long term - they were a miracle pill that kept you awake and helped you lose weight with little or no noticable bad side effects then, if you needed to, you took a sleeping pill so that you could get some rest. It was just how the pills were used. It seemed a good thing till it started beong researched and ruining people's lives when they tried to stop.

  • What a rebel, that Judy!

  • I'm half tempted to do this in choir...

  • Awwwwwww! That ickle face!

  • Judy was so talented, I miss her so much! Even though she would be pretty old by now, I bet she would still have the most lovely voice! I cannot believe they made her lose weight for the Wizard of Oz, she was beautiful and talented! Nothing else matters

  • Oh she was so talented, I can't believe they made her lose weight for the Wizard of Oz. She was lovely in this and talent is what matters, right?

  • Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli fans are not just for Gay Peoples

  • if only choir was like this...

  • Some of those choir girls are hott !! I wonder what they look like 73 years later.

  • she is so amazing. i'm 12 and i love to sing, and i completely IDOLIZE judy. i hope i'll get to cover this song but i cant find the chords ANYWHERE, and its really annoying me! so if anyone knows the chords, please please, please tell me so i can sing this song! :) <3 u judy!

  • Oh my god she's beyond adorable here, and then she blossomed into a beautiful woman and it got even better watching her in her later movies. I love love love her!!! God if I only had a time machine!!! I'd go back and ger her haha =)

  • i LOVE this! it's hilarious and displays judy's true talent & comic timing perfectly!

  • imagine Judy at 15 singing like this and Rebecca Black singing at 15.....it is night and day...

  • Man, this brings back memories of the Wizard of Oz tape I used to watch when I was little, when they would show the making of it at the end of the movie, this is what they put on when they were talking about Judy, and I loved that song! I wasn't listening to the speaker, though. So I always knew her as Dorothy! XD The parts that I remember the most are the words "In my singing school, I am one of many," and the part when she's busted. I LOVED it.

  • A 15 year old with a voice like THAT?! Yeah, you'll never find someone with a voice at an age like this anymore. Or another Judy Garland for that matter.

  • You rock Judy

  • haha It's so funny in this movie when she explains why she got in trouble. "I was going ba da da da!"

  • I LOVE HER! :D -3 her voice is soooo amazing!

  • ……. I cannot for the LIFE o' me belieeeeeve that I'm "only" the 104th person to give this snippet a thumbs-up … This is a gem! … THANK you, TheManThatGetAway, for uploading this preciousness. You totally rock! ~ (•8-D

  • HAPPY BELATED 89TH BIRTHDAY, MISS JUDY!!

  • She's really lovely....the best showgirl of the world!!

  • Who is "Mr. Mendelssohn"?

  • @joshscomputer the song at the start was composed by mendelssohn, hence her comparing him to benny goodman.

  • @joshscomputer Felix Nendelssohn, 1809-1847, a Romantic period classical composer and author of the tune the girls are singing in the beginning.

  • Amo este video, siempre quise tenerlo,es hermosísimo, gracias desde ya ojalá y manden más videos de esta naturaleza.

  • I can't believe they made her lose weight for the Wizard of Oz. She looks perfectly fine here!

  • she was so adorable.

  • most of the child stars in their hit films were probably drugged to the eyeballs

  • Simply delicious!!...I love her ...Forever Judy Garland!!

  • I love her but it is hard to watch her in close up seeing her eyes bug out, likely from all the benzedrine they pumped her full of.

  • @bygten88 I dunno what you mean - what part? I just don't see it.

  • How old was Judy in this?

    Love you Judy!! <3

  • @RunawayGurl95 She was 15 here.

  • @TheManThatGetAway Yuppers! She did the Wizard of Oz right after this film!

  • @RunawayGurl95 14/15

  • @RunawayGurl95 she looks about 21 or so ,,

  • @missandcourt64 She was actually only 15 here.

  • i ♥ Judy

  • what's the song the girls sing??

  • She had holly fire in her soul!!

  • Regardless of what MGM did to her.....uppers,downers,diet pills, she was at her best during her teen years.

  • @ziggycat999 I heartily second that!!!! We love you, JUDY!

  • Hilarious!

  • Once swing music got to be popular, it began showing up in Hollywood films, just like this. And there was a lot of this same attitude of "swinging" older music (classical, folk, anything no longer with a valid copyright) to show how up-to-date everything was. Making fun of a stodgy old song made that newness clear.

  • I.was.born.in.the.wrong.decade....:(

  • @superhero186 Me too! I know how you feel . . .

  • @superhero186 eh, the 30's look boring well that's just me lol

  • @MyGodzilla99 the 30's were everything but boring.

  • @superhero186 I know, tell me about it! If I can figure out how to build a time machine, I'll let you know, and we can just move back to about 1960!

  • @superhero186 tell me about it >.<

  • @superhero186 me too!

  • @superhero186 Omg iknow what you mean, woulnt it have been awesome to be around in Judy Garlands time?! :)

  • a gorgeous girl with a big voice. I love you Judy!

  • Omg, Judy is so cute in that scene. Thanks for the upload.

  • hahah judy makes me smile

  • @nicksmith128 Actually, now listening to it again, you can tell!

  • @nicksmith128 Yeah....and poor Judy, stuck at the studio, probably lamented she couldn't be alone in a room full of eligible boys....
